STEAM TURBINE INSTALLATION

Using biomass from an adjacent 5 million egg layer chicken facility to produce up to 3.25 megawatts of renewable

energy. Highlander Energy performed the installation of the dryer kiln, heat recovery steam generator, the steam

turbine generator, turbine exhaust ductwork, and air cooled condenser. Additionally, Highlander Energy performed the

fabrication and installation of the steam piping (superheated, high pressure, and medium pressure) as well as the

associated condensate piping. Grouting and installation services were also provided by Highlander Energy.

FABRICATION SHOP

Our 30,000 square foot facility just outside the borough of Kane, PA in McKean County. Originally built as an

industrial development facility, considerable modifications were made to the electrical and lighting systems,

a weld-fume ventilation system was added, and, to improve workflow, several roll-up doors were also

installed. A large investment was made for the purchase and installation of two (2) overhead cranes, material

storage systems, hydrotesting equipment, and equipment related to the fabrication operation. Currently, the

shop can operate on two shifts with as many as thirty employees per shift. Hydrotesting and X-Ray

examination is typically performed on second shift.
