COMPARING SUPERHEROES AND HEROINS
COMPARING TWO .... When the two things or
people are equal in quality we use the following structure:
As + adjective + As Superman is as strong as
Spiderman. Catwoman is as clever as
Superwoman.
When they are not equal in quality we use the following structure:
Adjective+er + than Hulk is greener than
Superman. More + adj (3S)+ than Spiderman is more
handsome than Superman.
COMPARING MORE THAN 2.. When we compare
more than two things or people we use the following structure:
Adjective+est Superman is the
strongest of the three. The most + adj (3) Superman is the most
popular of the three.
Absolute superlative: Superman is the best
hero in the world. Spiderman is the
fastest hero in history. Catwoman is the most
beautiful heroin in the world.
TOO/ENOUGH OR NOT ENOUGH
Too + adjective: Hulk is too fat to be a
superheroe. Batman is too rich to
be a heroe. Robin is too short to
be a good a superheroe.
(not) adjective+enough Hulk is not fit enough to
be a superheroe. Batman is not poor
enough to be heroe. Robin is not tall enough
to be a good superheroe Superman is perfect
enough to be a heroe. Superman is popular
enough to be a comic.
