Review when to add 'er' and when to use more/most.

Tell students that you are going to use comparatives and superlatives to compare three specific items in a game: their score, the coins they've collected, and the distance they've travelled.

Review different possible ways to compare these things.

I went further than Aisha.

I travelled further than Aisha.

The distance I went was longer than Aisha.

Introduce students to the game Temple Run or Brave: Temple Run both are free in the app store presently. You many want to have one student demonstrate the game for the class.

After students take a few minutes to play the game (a countdown timer on the board should help keep students focused), have them compare their stats with one another from the stats screen. Students can compare the amount of money they collect, the distance they travel and their high score.

Students should then take a screen shot of their stats screen to be inserted into a pages document.

In pages students should write a sentence for each category and add their picture. The document can then be saved as a PDF and sent or uploaded as you see fit.

Follow Up Activities You could record the high score for each student on the board and challenge students to compete for high score in these categories. You could also look at on-line stats to compare with players from around the world.
