Comparison between The Captain America and The RoboCop

Every kid loves watching their superheroes protecting the earth through television

programmes and movies. Researchers found superheroes actually boost the

self-confidence, self-control and self-esteem. Heroes are pillars of societies values,

teaching kids to have moral justice in them since they were very young in age. Adults

also enjoys television programmes and movies pretty much too. I have also watched the

latest films that caught my eye and they are ‘The Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

and ‘RoboCop 2014’. The moral justice, true courage,patriotism, sacrifice for greater

good and perform their duty as the savior of the world are the values of both Captain

America and RoboCop possess.

Both Captain America and the RoboCop carries the old-fashioned value which is the

moral justice and old is always gold. For example, Captain America always fight for truth

and justice to defend the helpless than to attack the agressive. The moral justice that

Captain America always hold on to and putting his life on the line for the people will

same goes to the RoboCop. RoboCop is also a good cop that always protect the

innocents,uphold the law and defend civilians from the vigilance’s attack because he, too,

have the ability to enforce justice. The moral justice can not only be seen in ‘Captain

America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘RoboCop 2014’ but also in all the previous films that

both Captain America and RoboCop involves in.

The true courage in them is the fact that none can denied it. Once Arthur Ashe said

that “True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all

others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.” Steve Rogers also

known as Captain America always wanted to serve his country, but his physical

requirements was unable to pass the army test. Fortunately, with the courage of the

Captain America, he volunteers to take part in the operation Rebirth, a secret experiment

that transformed him from frail and sickly with ‘super soldier serum’ into a powerful

super soldier that always carries his trusty shield at his side. In ‘Captain America: The

Winter Soldier’ film, the courage of the Captain America to protect the villain, Winter

Solider who was also a friend of Captain America named Bucky. On the other hand,

RoboCop also carries the mighty courage that exceed all human being as a lovely

husband, father, and a good cop that always doing his best to stem the tide of crime and

corruption in Detroit. In ‘RoboCop 2014’, the scene when Alex Murphy suffers critical

injuries from a car explosion caused by corrupted policemen, he convert himself into a

RoboCop that brings criminals to justice. ‘Incorruptible, courageous and unwavering.’

Patriotism that both Captain America and RoboCop portrayed can be observed

through the way they protect their country and fight vigorously against crimes. Captain

America has defined patriotism the way he loves his country and serves his country out of

a sense of duty and loyalty. As Captain America continues to fight villains through the

80s and 90s, Captain America never refuse to help his old friends within governmental

organizations, such as Nick Fury and Sharon Carter of S.H.I.E.L.D. S.H.I.E.L.D is known

as the government organization that deals with superhuman threats. RoboCop never gives

up on catching the druglord Cain and his gang and put their destruction into an end.

Sacrifices that both heroes made are far more than words can describe. The

willingness to sacrifice for people can be witness in Captain America was paramount,

Captain America never says no to his duty as the Captain and always participate in wars

that brings peace and justice to the world. Alex James Murphy as RoboCop, sacrificing

his human body and his consciousness reduced to 2 percent then combined with artificial

intelligence to convert himself into a RoboCop. Murphy is a family man that would do

anything to protect his family yet he sacrifices his time for his loving family in order to

protect the innocents from harm and further destruction.

In conclusion, the moral values that Captain America and the RoboCop owns are

well-nigh interchangeable. The methods of saving the mankind that both heroes

demonstrated in the particular films are also comparable. The moral justice, true courage,

patriotism and sacrifice that both heroes have shown no matter in the text above or in the

films never dissappoint us.
