INTRODUCTION

y The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) was created onApril 01, 1924

y In 1944, a full-fledged Revenue Division was createdunder the Ministry of Finance.

yAfter independence, this arrangement continued up to31st August 1960 when on the recommendations of the

Administrative Re-organization Committee,y FBR was made an attached department of the Ministry

of Finance.

y By the enactment of FBR Act 2007 in July 2007 theCentral Board of Revenue has now become

FUNCTIONS OFFBR/REVENUE

DIVISIONIn the existing setup, the Chairman, FBR, being the

executive head of the Board as well as Secretary of the

Revenue Division has the responsibility for(i) Formulation and administration of fiscal policies,

(ii) Levy and collection of federal taxes and

(iii) Quasi-judicial function of hearing of appeals.

y His responsibilities also involve interaction with theoffices of the President, the Prime Minister, alleconomic Ministries as well as trade and industry.

Compensation in Case of Injury or

AccidentIn case of an injury, accidents and illness, the employee

will admit in government hospital and and he has to

show the medicne expenses in the form of invoice andthe responsible authority will reimburse the bill.

Compensation in Case of Deathy In case of death of employee, the authority will hire

his son according to prime minister package

yIf the employee was living in Government house thenafter his death his DEPENDENT can live in this housefor five years.

Leavey Earned Leave

48 days earned leave in a year is allowed whether availed

together or separatelyy Maternity Leave

Special Allownce shall be admisseable to femaleemployees during the maternity leave granted under

rulesy Medical leave

Special Allowance shall not be admissible to

employees during medical leave
