- On October 7th at 7:04AM Eastern time, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation reported all lanes of the Trans Canada Highway (HWY-17/HWY-417) blocked in both directions between White Lake Rd/CR-2 and CR-508 due to an accident involving serious injuries. The situation was made worse due to heavy fog in the area limiting visibility.

- HERE Traffic Editor Ivy Wilcher confirmed the closure via the Ontario Police Twitter feed. Multiple news agencies also reported the incident, given the severity of the accident and the weather conditions in the area. Ivy entered the details into the HERE Traffic Feed. As of the writing of this report, the roadway remains closed.
