TheQaseedahBurdah,(ThePoemoftheScarf)ortheMantleorCloakofRasoolullahAisaQaseedah(panegyric)composedbyHadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusiriinthepraiseofRasoolullahA.ImamBusiriwasborninEgyptin608A.H.anddiedin695A.H.

ImamBusiricomposedtheQaseedahaftersufferingfromastrokewhichlefthimpartiallyparalyzed.HeprayedtoAllahAlmightytomakewellandbestowhimrecoveryfromhisdisease.Then,afterpraying,hefellasleep.Inhisdream,hesawhimselfrecitingtheQaseedahuponNabiAkram.Afterreciting,NabiAkramtouchedtheparalyzedpartofhisbodyandputhisBurdah(blanket)overhim.WhenHadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAlBusiriawoke,hediscoveredthathehadbeencuredofhisparalysis.

Sincethen,theversesofTheQaseedahBurdahhavebeenlearntbyheartandmanypeoplehaveinscribedonthewallsofmosquesandreligiousinstitutesallovertheMuslimworldanditisalsorecitedwitheager,spiritandlove.

It'salsonicetolearnthatmorethan90commentarieshavebeenwrittenonthisQaseedahBurdahandhasbeentranslatedinmanylanguagesoftheworldincludingTurkish,Urdu,Berber,Punjabi,German,French,English,PersianandSaraiki.

InrelationtoDurood,AllahAlmightyrecountsintheHolyQur'an:

Similarly,thevirtuesandimportanceofDuroodisdescribedintoomanyAhadith.

HadhratAnasBinMaliknarrates:theHolyProphet(A)said,"Thepersonwhorecitesduroodonceuponme,Allah(Almighty)sends(His)blessings,removeshistensinsandtenstepsofhisstatusareraisedforhim".2

HadhratHasanBin'Alinarrates:theHolyProphetAsaid,"Recitedurooduponmewhereveryouareindeed,yourdurood(does)reachme".3

WiththeblessingsofAllahAlmighty,forthefirsttimeinthehistoryofIslam,MinhajulQur'anInternationalhasorganizedtorecitedurooduponNabiMukarramAdayandnightwithoutanydisconnectionandpauseinCentralSecretariatofTehreek.Thebuilding,nominatedforthispurposeiscalled"GoshaeDurood".WhereInsha'Allahthevoicesof

willrisetilldoomsday.

ThisistheblessingsofAllahAlmightyWhohasbestowedHisspecialRahmatonusthatHehasmadeusamongsttheMuslimsandthenamongstthefollowersofHisbelovedProphetHadhratMuhammad(A).It'sourfaiththattherecitingandsendingDurooduponNabiAkram(A)issuchan'Ebadah()whichisneverrejected.Itgivesustheguaranteeofitsacceptance(approval).

IrequestallofmybrothersandsisterstomaketheirhabittorecitetheDuroodonadailybasisasmuchastheycan.ThiswouldshowourdeepestlovewithourNabiAkram(A)andthisishowwecanholdtheropeofAllahAlmightyanddospreadthismessagetothemassestoyourlevelbest.ThehabitationofrecitingtheDuroodisalsotheguaranteethatAllahAlmightywouldtaketheresponsibilityofallworksofreciterregardingboththislifeandHereafter.

LoveforRasoolullahA,nodoubt,istheperfectionofourEman.ThislovecanonlybeachievedifweknowandunderstandtheperfectionsandloftystatusofSayyidinaRasoolullahAinthesightofAllahAlmighty.ThecomingtranslationandcommentaryoftheQaseedahBurdahhighlightstheexaltedstatusandperfectionsofSayyidinaRasoolullahA.

ThevirtuesofQaseedahBurdaharecountlesssomeofitsvirtuesandspecialtieswhicharewritteninthebooksareasunder:Forlonglife(blessingsinlife)reciteQaseedahBurdahfor1001times.Fortakingawayofdifficultiesreciteitfor71times.Fortheremovalofdroughtreciteitfor300times.Forwealthandeffectsreciteitfor700times.Tohavemaleoffspring(children)reciteitfor116times.Tomakepossibleandeasyalldifficulttasksreciteitfor771times.One,whorecitesQaseedahBurdahdailyorgetssomeoneelsetoreciteit,andthereaftermakesDamm(blow)onhim,willbesafeguardedfromallhardships.OnewhorecitesQaseedahBurdahoncedailyandmakesDamm(blow)onhischildren,theywillbeblessedwithlonglife.Onewhorecitesitfor17timesonaThursdayeveningfor7weekswillbecomepiousandwealthy.Whoeverrecitesitinhisbedroomforanyworkorspecialmotives,thosemotivesandpurposeswillbeshowntohiminadream.Onewhorecitesitfor41timesinanoldgraveyardfor40days,hisenemieswillbedestroyed.Whoeverrecitesitoncedailyonrosewaterfor7daysandgivesittosomeonetodrink,thememoryofthatpersonwhodrinksthatrosewaterwillincreasetremendously.One,whoisafflictedwithagreatmishap,misfortune,calamityorhardship,shouldkeep3fastsanddailyreciteitfor21times.Whoeverwritesitwithmuskandsaffronandhangsitaroundhisneck,willbesafeguardedfromseventysufferingsandtroubles.Thehouse,inwhichQaseedahBurdahisread3timesdaily,willbeprotectedfrombigtroubles.Ifapersonhasimportantwork,heshouldreciteitfor26timesatthenightofJum'ah(Thursdayevening)andgive26thingsincharity.Thehouse,inwhichthisQaseedahiskept,willbesafeguardedfromthieves,etc.WhoeverrecitesQaseedahBurdahfor7000timesinhislifetime,willliveuptotheageofonehundredyears.Whoeverreadsitoverrosewaterandsprinklesitoverhisclothes,willbecomerespectedandlovedbythecreationofAllahAlmighty.Ifapersonrecitesitoncedailyduringhisjourney,willbeprotectedfromailhardshipsoftravel.Onewhoisindebtshouldreciteitfor1000times.IfsomeonerecitesQaseedahBurdahfor41times,orhassomeoneelsetoreaditforhimatthenightofJum'ah,foracertainaimorpurpose,hisaimorpurposewillbefulfilled.ThehouseinwhichthisQaseedahBurdahisreadregularlywillbesavedfromseventhings:TheevilofJinn.Plagueandepidemics.Smallpox.Diseasesoftheeyes.Misfortune.Insanity.Suddendeath.ThehouseinwhichtheQaseedahisreaddaily,itsinhabitantswillalsobebestowedwithsevenbenefits:Longlife.Abundanceinsustenance.Goodhealth.Help(fromAllah).OnewillseetheNoor(splendour)ofSayyidinaRasoolullahA.Wealth.Happinessandcontentment.Whoeverwishestoknowwhetherhewillgetbenefitorharmfromajourney,shouldreadtheQaseedahBurdahfor3times,andbeforereadingit,heshouldreciteDurood1000times,hewillthereafterbeinformedinadreambyRasoolullahAwhetheritwouldbebeneficialorharmfultotravel.One,whowishestoknowtheconditionofatraveler,shouldrecitetheQaseedahBurdahfor3timesalongwithDuroodonaThursdaynight.Toremovetheevileffectofjinn,readoncedailyfor40daysandmakeDamm(blow)ontheaffectedperson.Ifachildisborn,thenreaditfor9timesonseawaterandbaththechildwithit.Thechildwillbesavedfromalltypesofdisastersandcalamities.Forlabourpains(childbirth),readfor3timesandblow(makeDamm)onrosewater.Mixtherosewaterwithordinarywateranddrinkit.Placealittleontheloinsaswelltherewouldbeeaseinchildbirthimmediately.One,whoreadsQaseedahBurdahonceaftergettingonashipandpassesthroughaseverestorm,willbesafeguarded.One,whoisinjail,shouldreciteitcontinuouslyandhewillbereleased.

Chatrooms

Iflandsareinfertileandbarren,readandblow(makeDammontheseeds,thereafterplantthem,therewouldbeabundantcrops.Iffarmlandsareinfestedorplaguedwithlocusts,thenreciteQaseedahBurdahfor7timesonsandandsprinkleitthroughthelands.Whereverthesandfalls,thatlandwillnotbeinfestedagain.

Inconclusionwefindthatforwhateverpurpose"QaseedahBurdah"isread,Insha'Allahthatpurposewillbefulfilledwiththepreconditionthatonesearningsandfoodishalaal(permissible).

HadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusirihasspokenabouthisloveforRasoolullahA.Hetriestoconcealthisloveandhisbeloved.ThisiswhyweseethatHehasnotdescribedthenameofRasoolullahAdirectlyinthewholesection.WeobservethathehasmentionedtheplacesandthingswhichareneartoMadinahsothatRasoolullahAispleased.HisloveforRasoolullahAhasmadehimuneasyandrestless.

Arethetearsmixedwithbloodfollowing(fromyoureyes)duetoyourremembranceoftheneighbourofDhiSalam(aplacenearMadinatulIslam).

OrisitbecauseofthebreezeblowingfromKaazimah(aplacenearMadinatulIslam).Orisitthelighting(thathas)struckinthedarknessofthenightIdham(aplacenearMadinatulIslam).

Whatisthematterwithyoureyes,(themore)yousaytothemtostop(themore)theycontinuetoflow.Andwhathashappenedtoyourheart,(themore)yousaytoittocometoitssenses(normalcondition,themore)itisdistracted(troubled).

Doestheloverthinkthathislovecanbeconcealedwhileheisconstantlysheddingtearsandhisheartis(constantly)glowing.

Ifyouhadnotfalleninlove,youwouldnothaveshedtearsattheruins(ofyourbeloved)norwouldyouhavebecomerestlessduetotheremembranceoftheban(cypresstree)andHighMountain.

So,howcanyoudenylovewhileyour(continuous)sheddingtearsand(your)illnessare(open)witness(ofyourlove).

Andthedeepestlovehascarvedtwolinesofweaknessand(constantlyshedding)tears(duetogriefandfear)onyourcheekslikeyellowroseandthereddishtree(hence,yourfaceiswithered).

Yes!Thoughtsofthebelovedcametomeatnightandkeptmeawake(andmademerestless)and(indeed)lovealtersintopain.

You!Whoreproachme,regardingmylove,excusemefrommetoyouandifyoudojustice,youwouldnotreproachme.

Mystate(oflove)hasreachedyou,(now)mysecretisnolongerconcealedfromthosewhomalign(me),northereis(somethingto)checkmyagony.

You(Olistener)havesincerelyadvisedme(and)Ihavenotpaidanyattentiontoit.Verily,a(true)loverisdeaftothosewhoadvise(andcriticizehim).

Iregardedtheadviceoftheelderswithsuspicioninreproachingme.(Nodoubt,)thewisdomintheadviceoftheeldersisabove(any)suspicion.

TopSectionTwoHadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusiridescribedinthissectionaboutrestraininglustandcarnaldesires.Inthissectionherelatesthatamanindulgesintoloveduetolustandcarnaldesiresandrequirements.Healsohasrelatedthathislifeisspentinsins.Andonthisact,hesincerelyregretsandasksforforgivenessfromAllahAlmighty.

Ontheotherhand,healsomentionsthatlustandcarnaldesiresarealsoimportanttofallintheloveofRasoolullahA.Hementionsthatapurelovecanbeattainedbythepurificationofoneselffromlustandcarnalwishesanddesires.ThissectionprovokesamantofallintotheloveofRasoolullahAanditalsodrawsamantoseekforgivenessfromAllahAlmighty.

Forverily,mysoul(NafsAmmarah,which)callsmetoevil,duetoitsignorance,didnotpay(any)attentiontotheadvicefromthewarningbygreyhairandoldage.

AndIhavenotmadeanypreparationforgooddeeds,afeastforaguest(oldagethat)haslodgedonmyheadnordidIhonour(it).

IfIhadknownthatIwouldnot(beableto)honour(theguest,theoldage)Iwouldhaveconcealedmysecret,whichisexposed,bydyeing.

Isthereanywhocanrestrainmywaywardselffromitswaywardness.Justasanunmanageablehorseisrestrainedbyreins.

Donottry,throughcommittingsins,tosubduesensualdesires.Verily,thefood(only)strengthenscorporaldesires.

Andyourself(desires)islikeachild(infant),ifyoulethimkeepondrinkingmilkhewillcomeofagewiththehabitofdrinking(milk).Andifyouweanit,willstop.

So,controlits(Self,)inclination(towardsdesires)andbeware,itmaynotoverpowerit(yourself).Verily,lustwheneveritoverpowers(it)killsormakes(yourcharacter)spotted.

Andguardit(yourself)whileitisgrazingin(thefieldof)actionsandifitenjoysgrazingland,donotletitroam(graze)freely.

Howmanypleasuresarethere(which)areconsideredsupreme(but)areharmfulformanbecausehedoesnotknowthatfathaspoisoninit.

Andfeartheevilof(both)hungerandsatiation(overeating)formostlyhungers(poverty)ismoreevil(dangerous)thanovereating.

Andshedtearsfrom(those)eyeswhichhavebecomefullofforbiddensightsandmarkanobligatory(dutyuponyourself)toguardyoureyesfromforbiddenthings.

And(Ofollowerofvirtue!)oppose(your)self(Nafs,)andSatananddisobeythemboth.Andifbothofthemgiveyou(even)sincereadvice,(do)regarditaslies.

Anddon'tobeythemboth(NafsandSatan)asanenemyoraswise(person).Foryouknow(very)wellthedeceptionof(suchan)enemyorawise(person).

IseekforgivenessfromAllah(Almighty)fromsuchsayings(preaching)whichIdonotpracticeupon.Forverily,throughthis,(itissamelikethat)Ihaveattributed(claimed)offspringfromabarrenwoman.

IcommandyoutodogoodbutIdonotcommandmyselftodothat(thesame)andIdidnotbecomesteadfast(onDeen/therightpath)so,thenwhatistheuse(value)ofsayingtoyou,"Besteadfast".

AndIdidnotoffervoluntaryworshipbeforedeathandIdidnotofferprayernordidIkeepfastexceptwhatwasobligatory.

TopSectionThreeInthissection,HadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusirihasdescribedtheloveofRasoolullahAandopenlymentionsandbeginsthepraisesofRasoolullahA.Heshowsunrestrictedandunlimitedlove.HesayswhenAllahAlmightyhascrossedthelimitofloveforhisMessengerthenwhynotwetrytodotoourlevelbest.

IdisobeyedtheSunnah(thewayofpassinglife)of(NabiAkramA)whopassedthenightsinworshipuntilhisfeetcomplainedofinjuryduetobeingswollen.

Andhe(A)tiedandfolded,duetohunger,aroundhisstomach,astoneonhisdelicateskin.

And(very)highmountainsofgold(presentedthemselvestohimto)tempthimtowardsit(worldlythings)andhe(A)showedthem(thepeoplethat)howhighthesemountainsare(butrejectedtheoffer).

Andhispietybecamemorepowerfulinspiteofhisneed.Forverily,needneveroverpowerstheinfallible(TheHolyProphetA).

Andhowcantheneedinclinesuchanoblepersonalitytowardsthisworldforifhe(A)hadnotbeen(created),theworldwouldhavenotcomeintoexistence.

(ThebelovedProphet)Muhammad(A)istheLeaderofbothworldsandbothcreations(manandjinn)andofbothgroups,ArabsandnonArabs.

OurNabi(Ais)theonewhocommands(todogoodand)forbids(evil,undoubtedly)thereisnon(paralleltohimwhois)moretruthfulthanhiminsaying,"No"or"Yes".

He(A)isthemostbeloved(ofAllahAlmighty)whoseintercession()ishopedforeveryfear(anddistress)thatisgoingtocome(onthedayofagonyandfears).

He(A)called(thepeople)towardAllah(Almighty),sothosewhoclingtohimareclingingtoaropewhichwillneverbreak.

He(A)exceeds(transcends)theprophets()physicallyandinnoblecharacterand(noneofotherprophets)canreach(touch)hisknowledgeandnoblenaturekindness.

Andallofthem(theprophets)obtainedfromRasoolullah(A,hisbountieslikea)handful(ofwater)fromtheoceanorasipfromcontinuousrains.

Andtheyall(prophets)stoppedbeforehimattheir(assigned)limits(eitherlike)apointofknowledgeortogainapieceofwisdom(fromthewisdomofHolyProphetA)

Forhe(A)istheonewhowasperfectedoutwardlyandinwardlyandthen(AllahAlmighty),theCreatorofallcreations,chosehimas(His)themostbeloved.

Thereisnoequaltohiminhismagnificencethejewelofsuperiority(dignity)inhimisinseparable(andindivisible).

ThrowawaywhattheChristiansclaim(attribute)abouttheirprophet(Isa,JesusD).Thendecideandsaywhatyouwishinpraiseofhim(exceptdoingpolytheismwhichtheChristiansdo).

Andattribute(claim)tohispersonalitywhateveryouwishto(claim)in(his)excellenceandattributethegreatnesstowardshis(highly)dignifiedstatusasmuchasyouwish(exceptcommittingpolytheism).

Forverily,theexcellenceoftheAllah'sMessenger(A)hasnolimit.Therefore,aspeaker(admirer)might(beableto)expresswithhismouth.

Ifhismiracleswereproportionate(according)tohis(A)rankingreatness,thenhis(A)name,whencalledout,wouldhavebroughtdecayingbonesbacktolife.

He(A)didnottestuswiththatwhichmakesourmindsunable(topass).Havingkeeninclination(interest,kindness)forus,neitherwehadsuspicion(aboutthetruthfulnessofthemissionoftheHolyProphetA)norwereweconfounded(confused,byhispolicies).

His(A)perfectinner(most)naturemadethepeoplehelplessfromcomprehending(him,soitwasnotunderstoodbyanyonebutAllahAlmighty),sothereisnoneinnearorfarwhoisnothelpless(andimperfectingraspinghisinnermostnature).

(TheexampleofourHolyProphetAis)likethesun(which)isseenbyeyes(verysmall)fromfar.Andyetitches(your)eyes(whenyou)seeitfromnear.

And(how)canhisrealitybecomprehended(bythepeople)inthisworld(certainlythisisa)sleepingnation(exceptAllah'sprophetsandfriends)whosedescriptionofhimis(nothingbutlikeaninterpretationof)adream.

So,theextremedepthof(our)knowledge,concerningtohim,isthathe(A)isaman(likeus).Whereasindeedhe(A)isthebestofallcreationsofAllah(Almighty).

Andallmiracleswhichtheprophets()showed,indeedthey(allmiracles)havebeenderivedfromhisNoor(light).

Forverily,he(A)isthesunofvirtue(andblessings,and)they(allotherprophets)areitsstarswhichshowthepeopletheirlightsinthedark.

Untilwhenthesun(ofNooroftheHolyProphetA)rose,itslightspreaduniversallyandgavethelifetotheentirenations.

Hownoblearethephysicalqualitiesof(our)Prophet(A)whichareadornedwithgoodcharacteristics.(OurProphetA)isdressedwithbeautyanddistinguishedbypleasantnature.

(HeAissodelicatethatlooks)likeabloomingflowerinitsfreshnessand(like)themoon(whenitis)fullinsplendourand(like)theoceaningenerosityand(his)fearlesscourage(is)likethetime.

Evenwhen(heAis)alone,(helooks)duetohisgrandeur(thatheis)inthemidstofalargearmyanditsassociates.(AndheAhasovercomeallofthemforhisgrandeurandnooneisabletoevenmove).

Asthough(heAislike)pearls(whichare)wellpreservedinoysters(andallofthisis)fromthetwomines,ofhisspeechandhissmiles.

Noneofperfumescanbeequaltothedustwhichistouchinghissacredbody.Gladtidingsbeto(the)personwhosmellsthis(sacreddust)andkissesit.(Undoubtedly,thatmanistheluckiestandblessedone.

TopSectionFourInthissection,HadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusirihasdescribedaboutthebirthofRasoolullahA,hisAmiraclesaswellasincidentswhichtookplaceatthetimeofhisAbirth.Nodoubt,allthesearethesignsofthegreatnessofourProphetMuhammadA.Thedayofhisbirthisablessedday.ThebirthofRasoolullahAabsolutelylightedupthewholeuniverse.AndRasoolullahA'sarrivalremovedalltroublesanddifficultiesfromthisworld.SothebirthofRasoolullahAwasgreatblessingfornotonlyhumanbeingsbutforallthecreationsofAllahAlmighty.

Hisplace(andtime)ofbirthshowedthescentofhispureoriginTheExcellence!Hisbirth(andapparentlyhappening)death(both)arescented(andsacred).

Onthatday,thePersiansperceiveddueto(their)perceptionthattheyweregoingtofaceamisfortune(and)warnedmisfortuneandpunishment(which)approached.

Andatnight,thewallsofthepalaceofKisracrumbled(aftertrembling)asthearmyofKisrascattered(and)couldnotbeunitedagain.

Andthefire(ofthePersians)wasextinguishedoutofregretandtherivers(ofPersia)driedupwithwonder(andexcessivesorrow).

And(when)thewaterofriverdriedup,Saawah(avillageinPersia)becamegriefstrickenand(thirsty)goer(waterbearer)returnedinangerwithdisappointment.

Itisasthough,duetogrief,thefirebecame(cold)likewater,whilewater(ofBuhairah)was(turnedinto)theblazingfire(ofPersia).

(Inspiteof)aftertheirfortunetellershadinformedthepeople(infidels)thattheirfalsereligionwouldneverstand(buttheyyetwereblindanddeaf).

Andevenaftertheyhadseenthestarsonthehorizonfalling,justas(their)idolswere(falling)ontheearth.

Eventhedevilskeptrunningfromthepathofrevelationoneaftertheother(atthetimeofbirthoftheHolyProphetA).

Asthoughinrunningawaythey(Satans)werethebravearmyofAbraha(themanwhowantedtodemolishthehouseofAllahAlmightywiththehelpofhisarmyofElephants)or(likethat)armyonwhichthepebbleswerethrownbyhispalms.

Which(thepebbles)he(A)threwaftertheirmakingtasbeeh(praiseofAllahAlmighty)inhishands,likehow(HadhratYounusD)whomadetasbeeh(ofAlmightyAllah)wasthrownoutfromthestomachofthe(big)swallowing(fish).

TopSectionFiveInthissection,thesacredness,sanctity,holinessandblessednessofinvitationtowardsIslamisdescribedbyHadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusiri.

Thetreesansweredhiscall(inthestateof)prostrating,(andtheywere)walkingtowardshimon(their)shinswithoutfeet.

Itisthough(thetreeswere)drawinglines(whiletheywerecomingtowardtheHolyProphetA)thatwerewrittenwiththeirbranches(andwere)makingbeauty(ofperfectionoftheHolyProphetA).

(ThetreeswerecomingtowardstheHolyProphetA)likethecloud(thatwas)followinghimwherever(andwhenever)he(A)went(anditwas)shelteringhimfromtheintenseheat,(whichwaslike)fromanovenintheblazingsummer.

Itakeanoath(ofthetruthregardingtheHolyProphetA)bythemoon(that)wassplit(intotwopieces),it(themoon)hasaspecialconnectionwithhisheart(whichshows)thetruthofmyoath.

(Andremember)!Whatexcellentqualitiesandnobledeeds(intheformofHolyProphetAandhisCompanionHadhratAbuBakrSiddiquet)thecave(GhareThowr)contained(init).Whileeveryeyeoftheinfidels(was)blind(tosee)him.

Andthetruth(theProphetA)andthetrue(HadhratAbuBakrt)werenotseeninthecave(bythedisbelievers)andtheyweresaying,"Thereisnooneinthecave."

They(disbelievers)thought(that)awilddovehadnotflownaway(ifsomeonehadreachedorpassedbyit,itwouldhaveflownaway)andaspiderhadspinawebfortheBestofcreation(A,ifanyonehadreached,thewebhadnotbeenthere).

TheprotectionofAllah(AlmightymadetheHolyProphetA)wantlessfromdouble,armoursandthehighforts.

WheneverthetimeputmeindistressandItookrefugeinhim,Ireceivedshelterfromhimwhichwasnotmisused(therefore,thetimecouldnotharmmeatall).

WheneverIaskedforthewealthofthetwoworldsfromhishand,Ireceivedagreat(andbetter)giftfromthebesthand(oftheHolyProphetA)whichwas(ever)kissed.

Donotdenytherevelation(whichissenttotheHolyProphetA)inhisdreamsforverily,hisheartdoesnotsleepwhen(his)eyessleep.

Andthis(stateofrevelationindream)wasat(theperiodof)pubertyofhisProphethood.So,atthattime(ofpuberty)dreamscannotbedenied(whatsoevertheseare,soitislikewhenamanreacheshispuberty,his,thisstate,cannotbedenied).

Allah(Almighty's)blessingaregreatthatWahiisnot(somethingwhichis)earnednor(any)prophet(u)wasaccusedof(lyingaboutwhathewasgivenof)knowledgeofunseen('IlmulGhaib).

Hismiraclesarecompletelyexplicit(clearand)nothiddenfromanyone(whosoeveritis,so)withoutthis,justicecannotbeestablished(atall)amongstthepeople.

Tohowmany(patients)hashishand(thehandoftheHolyProphetA)grantedliberty(cure)fromdiseaseby(hisjust)touchingandsetfreetheinsanefromthechainsofsins(andinsanity).

His(A)supplicationgavelifetothestarvingyear(offamine)untilit(theyear)became(like)awhitespot(yearofgreenery)onblacktime(meansthisyearbecamebrighterthananyofthepastandfutureyearsduetoitsgreenery).

Bymeansof(makingofthisyearbrighter/greenwas)acloudwhichrainedsoplentifullyyouwouldthink,alargeriver(was)flowingfromtheseaorliketheheavyfloodofArim.

TopSectionSixThemiraclesoftheHolyQur'anaredescribedinthissectionbyHadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusiri.WelearnfromthissectionthateverymiracleofallotherMessengersofAllahAlmightywastemporary.ButtheHolyQur'anisamiraclewhichiseverlastingandwitnessedbyallpeople.Itsdoorsareopenforeveryonewhosoeveritistocomeandlearnfromit.Inthissection,ImamAlBusiriencouragesonewhorecitestheHolyQur'an.HealsoencouragesthepeopletoactuponthecommandmentsofAllahAlmightywhicharenarratedintheHolyQur'an.

(O,whoadvisesmetoshortenwhatIsay),allowmewhatevermycharacteris(todescribe)themiraclesofhim(whichareso)evident(plain)likethe(lighteningof)firewhichismade)forguestsonthehillsideatnight.

Whenapearlisset(inanecklaceingoodorder)itenhancesthebeauty(ofnecklace)andwhen(theverysamepearlsis)notstrung(onanecklace)itsvaluedoesnotreduce.

Sowhynottheambitionsofadmirerincreasetowardsthatentity(theHolyProphetA,whois)thecompendiumofnoblecharacterandgoodhabits(sothathecangetmaximumblessingsofRasoolullahA).

Theversesoftruth(whicharerevealedtoRasoolullahA)fromthemostMerciful(AllahAlmighty)arenewlyheard(but)areeternal,(theseversesare)thequality(ofAllahAlmightywhichisdescribed)witheternity.

(Theseversesare)notconnectedwithanyperiodoftime,whilethis(HolyQur'an)tellsus(thestories)abouttheHereafter,'AadaswellasIram.

Theseverseswillremainforever,therefore,this(HolyQur'an)issuperiortoeverymiracleof(other)prophets(,because)when(theirmiracles)appeared(thepeopleobservedthem)but(theirmiracles)didnotremain(forever).

(Theseversesare)absolutelyclear,sothese(verses)didnotleave(roomforany)doubtsforthedifferersandnorthese(verses)needanyjudge.

Wheneverthis(HolyQur'an)wasopposedbyanyoutandoutaggressiveenemy,hereturnedfromopposingit(andwaswillingto)embraceit(peacefully).

Eloquenceofthese(verses)refutedtheaccusationofitsobjections,(justas)arespectable(highmindedoraveryconsciousinpointofhonour)mankeepsoffthehandofawrongdoerfromhisesteem.

Themeaningsofthese(versesofHolyQur'anare)likethewavesoftheoceaninhelping(tomakeabundanceofthemselvesandtheirmeanings)and(theQur'an)exceedsthejewelsoftheseainbeautyandvalue.

Thewondersofthis(HolyQur'an)neithercanbecounted,nor(canbe)comprehended(aswellas)noryouwouldbesickofitsconstantrepetition.

Theeyesofthereciterofthis(HolyQur'an)becomecold(getpeaceandcalm),soIsaidtohim,indeedyouhavesucceeded(so)hold(andbeconnectedforeverwith)theropeofAllah(Almighty).

(So)ifyourecitethis(HolyQur'an)duetothefearoftheheatofblazingfire(ofHell),thenyouhave(definitely)extinguishedtheblazingfirewithitscoolwater.

Asthoughthese(versesofHolyQur'an)are(like)thePond(AlKautharinParadise)withwhichfacesofthesinnersareilluminated(brightened),eventhoughtheycametoit(withtheirfaces)asblackascoal.

And(theseversesofHolyQur'an)arelikethestraightbridgeandscaleofjusticesojustice,withoutit,cannotbeestablishedamongstthepeople.

(Olistener!)Donotput(yourself)inastonishmentifthejealouspersonrejectsthis(HolyQur'an).Inspiteofhavingtheknowledge(oftruthand)beingshrewd(he)isignorant(andhedoesthisduetohisjealousy).

Indeedtheeyerejectstherayofsunduetodust(and)themouthrejectsthe(actual)tasteofwaterduetosickness.

TopSectionSevenInthissection,HadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusirihasdescribedabouttheMi'rajofRasoolullahA.Intheprevioussections,hehasspokenaboutthebirthofRasoolullahA,miracleoftheHolyQur'an,blessednessoftheinvitationtoIslamandthepraisesofRasoolullahA.Inthissection,henarratesabouttheinvitationofNabiAkramAtowardAllahAlmighty.Healsodescribesabouttheheavens,angelsandAllah'sHolyProphetswhometRasoolullahAinthenightofMi'raj.

AndO(HolyProphet!)youarethegreatestsignforwhomwhotakeslessonandO(Prophet!)youare(theone)whoisthegreatestbountyforapersonwhogets(opportunity)totakesomethingofit.

(OProphet!)Youtraveledovernightfromonesacredplace(HaramMosque)toanother(AqsaMosque,same)asthefullmoontravels(atnight)throughintensedarkness.

And(OProphet!)youcontinuedascending(overnight)untilyoureached(your)destination(whichis)QaabaQausain(thedistanceoftwocubitslength)whichisneverbeenattainednorsought(byanyotherprophet).

And(OProphet!)youwerepreferred(toleadotherprophetsinprayer),duetoyour(high)position,byallprophetsandmessengers(justasa)preferencegivenby(a)servantto(his)master.

And(OProphet!)youpassedthesevenheavenswiththem(prophets,whiletheywereinyourwayandmetyouandyoucontinuedyourjourney)in(such)aprocession(ofangelsandprophets)inwhichyouweretheleader(ofthem).

(OProphet!YoucontinuedyourjourneyinthenightofMi'raj)untilyoudidnotleave(any)goal(for)anycompetitor(tostriveforit)in(being)closenor(didyouleave)anyroomforadvancer.

(OProphet!)Youmadeeveryposition(ofprophets)inferiorby(your)advance,whenyouwereinvited(byAllahAlmighty)to(His)MajesticandUniqueposition.

(OAllah'sMessenger!Youwereinvited)sothatyoumightsucceedinreaching(whichis)themostconcealedfromalleyesand(youmightsucceedinattainingthe)secrets(whichare)wellconcealed.

So(YaRasoolallah)yougoteverythingworthyofpride(whichisnot)rivaledandyououtshinedeverypositionwhichwasnotcrowded(noneofotherscouldpass).

And(YaRasoolallah)youarebestowedextremelyexcellentranks(status)andthebountieswhich(are)grantedtoyou,arenotunderstandable.

(O)PeopleofIslam!Gladtidingsbeto(allof)usthatwehave(beenbestowed)bytheGrace(ofAllahAlmighty,sucha)pillar(which)willneverbedestroyed.

WhenAllah(Almighty)called(MuhammadA)whoinvitedustoHisworship(whois)thenoblestofmessengers,(sobeingnoblest)wearethenoblestofUmmats.

TopSectionEightInthissection,HadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusirihasdescribedaboutJihadofRasoolullahA.AftermigratingfromMakkahtoMadinah,theHolyProphetAwasgivenpermissiontodoJihadagainstinfidels.HadhratShaykhImamSharfudDinAlBusirihasdescribedaboutthebraveryofRasoolullahA.Hedescribedthathisbraverywasnotparalleled.HealsospeaksaboutthespiritoffightingforIslam.

Theheartsofhisenemieswerestruckwith(extreme)fearatthenewsofhisannunciation(whichwasthesignsofhisProphethoodintheformofaction),justasanalarm(growlingofalion)frightensaheedlessgoat.

Hekeptonencounteringwiththem(infidels)ineverybattleuntiltheylookedlikemeatputonbutcher'sbench(theywerethelessonforthosewhowerewillingtoencounterwiththeMuslims).

They(infidels)lovedtoflee(fromtheHolyProphetA,whomthepeoplelovetoserve)thattheywouldenvycorpseswhichwerecarriedawaybyvulturesandeagles(toavoidanyencounterwiththeHolyProphetAinspiteofhatetheybecameveryclosetohimA).

Thenightswouldpassandthey(infidels)didnotknow(their)numberunlessitreachedthenightsofthesacredmoths.

ItisasthoughthereligionofIslamwasaguestthatvisitedeveryhouseofthose(infidelsandwas)extremelydesirousforthefleshofenemy(incaseofencounteringwiththeMuslims).

(Atthetimeofwar)heusedtoleadanoceanofarmy(whichwasriding)ongallopinghorses.Theywerebravewarriors(like)massivewaves(ofanocean).

(Ofcourse!)EveryoneofvolunteerhashopeofrewardfromAllah(Almightyand)fightstoexterminatetherootsof(infidels)andtodemolishit(infidelity).

UntilthereligionofIslammetthem(becameofthem,andthenationofIslam)reunitedwithherfamilyafteritsestrangement(untiltheMuslimsbecamesostrongthateventhestrongestandheaviestattackofenemycoulddonothingthiswasthewayhowTheHolyProphetAunitedtheMuslims).

(TheMuslimUmmahwas)alwaystakencareofbyanaffectionatefather(fromtheevilofinfidels)andlovinghusband,soshedidnotbecome(norwouldbecome)anorphannorawidow.

They(theMuslims)were(like)mountains,so(ifyoudonottestifyorbelieveinwhatIsay)askaboutthemfromthose(infidels)whofoughtwiththem(that)whatwastheir(infidels)experiencewiththem(theMuslims)ineachcontest,(thenyouwouldcometoknowtherealityofthegloryoftheMuslims).

Ask(themwhoweredefeatedbytheMuslimsabouttheconditionofbattleof)Hunain,(battleof)Badrand(battleof)Uhud(and)they(Kuffar)had(such)crops(ofdeathwhichwere)moreseverethanafataldisease.

(TheMuslimsmadetheir)whiteshinningswordsred(withthebloodofinfidels)aftertheywereplunged(andthemajorityof)enemieswerehavingblackhair(i.e.,mostofthemwereyoung).

And(Muslims)writerswerewritingwiththeirarrows(andswordswhichwereredwiththebloodofenemies)incalligraphicwriting(onthebodiesofenemiesand)theirpen(swordsandlaces)didnotleaveanypartoftheirbodiesuntouched.

(TheMuslimswerecompletely)armedwithweapons(and)theyhad(such)characteristicmarks(which)madethemdifferent(from)them(infidels),like,arose(that)isdistinguishedby(itsspecial)marksfromthethorntree.

Thewindofsuccess(thehelpofAllahAlmighty)sendsyoutheir(theMuslims')fragrance,soyouthinkeverybraveman(armedwithweapons)tobeaflower(whichis)inthebud.

Asthoughthey(theMuslims)wereontheirhorseback,liketheplantsonhillsdueto(their)strength(andbravery)notdueto(their)tightnessoftheirsaddles.

Theheartsoftheenemies(inthewar)flewintoextremefearduetotheir(Muslims')bravery,sothey(theheartsofenemies)couldnotmake(any)differencebetweenalambandamightywarrior.

AndthepersonwhohasthehelpofRasoolullah(A)withhim,evenifthelionsmeethimintheirdenstheybecomesubmissive.

Andyouwillneverseeanyfriend(oftheHolyProphetAwhois)notassistedbyhim(A),norwillyoufindanyenemy(oftheHolyProphetA)whoisnotturnedintopieces.

HelodgedhisUmmahinthefortofhisreligion,likealionwhichlodgeswithitscubesinaforest

HowmanyqueriesdidthewordsofAllah(Almighty)havewithdefiersconcerningtohim(A)andhowmanyclearevidences(ofAllahAlmighty)subduedthedisputes(withinfidels).

ItissufficientforyouasamiraclethatanUmmi4has(sovast)knowledgeintheperiodofignoranceandhassuchnobleetiquettes(even)inorphanage.

TopSectionNineInthissection,HadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusiriseeksforgivenessfromAllahAlmightythroughthemeansoftheProphetMuhammadAkramA.Hesaysthathislifeisspentinsinsanddisobedience.Therefore,heregretsandseeksforgivenessfromAllahAlmighty.

Iservedhimwithpraise,bymeansofwhichIask(AllahAlmighty)toforgive(all)sinsof(my)life(whichhas)passedinpoetryandserving(otherpeople).

Asthesetwo(poetryandservingotherpeople)havetied(suchabeltaround)myneckthat(now)Ifeartheconsequencesofthem.Asthough,Iam,duetothese,asacrificialanimal.

Iobeyedthemisleadingyouthinbothconditions(poetryandservingothers)andIdidnotgain(anything)butsinsandremorse.

(OPeople!takealessonfromwhatIdid).Mysoulgotlossinitstrade(that)itdidnotpurchaseDeenwiththeworld,nordidittalkaboutit.

ThepersonwhosellshisHereafterforhisworld,heis(absolutelydefraudedand)inlossin(hisboth)readymoney(cash,sale)anditscredit.

ThoughIhavecommittedsins(buteventhen)mycovenant(belief)andrope(relation)withmyProphet(A)isnotbroken.

Forverily,Ihaveasecurityfromhimduetomyname(beingMuhammad,becausetheHolyProphetAsaidwhosenamewouldbeMuhammadorAhmad,Iwouldrecommendforhisforgiveness)andundoubtedlyheisthemostfaithfulofmankindinfulfillinghispromise.

Ifatmyresurrectionhedoesnottakemebymyhandwithhiskindness,thensay(tome),Otheslippingoffoot!(O,wretchedandfalleninperdition).

Itakerefuge(inAllahAlmighty)thathe(A)maydepriveonewhoishopefulofhis(A)graceorthathisneighbour(oronewhotakesshelterorhisfollower)returnsfromhimdishonoured.(BecauseitdoesnotbehovehisAglorytoreturnonewhohashopesofhisbountieswithoutfulfilling.)

SinceIhavedevotedmythoughtstohis(A)praises,Ihavefoundhim(A)thebestasylumformyrelease.

Hisbountieswillneverescapefrom(my)hand(which)wasinwant(ofhisbountyandbecausehehasgivenfromhisblessings,nowmyhandisnotempty).Indeed,theraingrowsflowersontherocks.

AndIdonotwanttheflowers(effect,luxuriesanddesires)oftheworldwhichwerepluckedbythehandsofZuhair(veryfamouspoet,thesonofSulma)throughhispraisesofHarim(theleaderoftribeGhatfan.Zuhairwrotemanypoemsinhispraiseandreceivedalotofeffectsandwealthfromhim.)

TopSectionTenInthissectionHadhratImaamSaalihSharafudDeenAbuAbdullahMuhammadBinHasanAlBusiriseeksrefugethroughthemeansoftheHolyProphetA.HehashopeforforgivenessofhissinsthroughthemeansandintercessionoftheHolyProphetA.HerecitesDurooduponNabiAkram(A),hisfamily,fourOrthodoxCaliphsandhisCompanionsy.HealsoasksAllahAlmightytoforgivethewriterofthispoemanditsreciter.

And(O)MessengerofAllah(Almighty)!Becauseofme,your(highly)exaltedstatuswillnotreduce.Whenthemostbountiful(AllahAlmighty)willshowplainly(Himself)bythenameofthepunisher.

Forverily,amongstyourbountiesisthisworldandtheHereafterandtheknowledgeofPreservedTablit(Lauh)andthePenisthepartofyourknowledge.

Mysoul!Donotloseheartduetoyourcapitalsins.Verily,majorsinsin(theoceanof)pardonareminor.

(I)hope,themercyofmyLord,whendistributed,wouldbedistributedinproportion(according)tothesins.
