Navigating the Recruitment Website
Searching for Vacancies and Registering on the Website
This first webpage allows you to search for vacancies that we have advertised. (Note that only Job Categories
and Departments with live vacancies will be displayed). You must register to be able to apply for any vacancies.
Logging into the Recruitment Website
In the left-hand menu click ‘Login’ to display the Login page. To register, click ‘Register’ and complete
the form (shown on the following page) with your details. After initial registration you will only need to
enter your email and password to log in.

Once you have logged in, you will again see the Search Vacancies screen. Select your search options
and click the ‘Search’ button to display current vacancies.
On the Current Job Vacancies page, click ‘Apply’ to apply immediately. Alternatively, click either the
job title or ‘Show more’ to view the job description and person specification for each role.
Then click ‘Apply for Job’ to apply from this page.

Completing the Application Form
Personal Details
Once you click ‘Apply’ you will arrive at the Personal Details screen. Please enter all of your details as requested.
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory fields.
Application Checklist
Once you have completed the form and clicked ‘Save and Return to Summary’ you will see your Application
Checklist. Click through the relevant sections where underlined to navigate your way through the application
form. Click ‘Save for later’ to save your application and return to it at a later time.

Form Navigation
Once you have finished with one section you can click on the ‘Save and Return to Summary’ button to save your
changes, or just ‘Return to Summary’ to go back to the Application Checklist without saving.
Applicant Screening Questions
This section will vary from vacancy to vacancy based on the essential and desirable criteria related to that job
role. This is the section that will be used for shortlisting your application so you must fully demonstrate how you
meet the relevant criteria. There may be questions that are multiple-choice or just require a yes/no answer.
Other questions may ask you to enter detailed information on how you meet the specific criteria for the role.
Referee Contact Details
Click on ‘Enter Referee Details’ to display the form (shown on the next page). Please provide details of two
referees, including your current or most recent employer. If you do not have any employer references you may
provide details for academic references.

Once you have saved the details of two referees, click ‘Return to Referee Section’. Here you can edit or delete
referee details. Click ‘Return to Summary’ to go back to the Application Checklist page.

Professional Membership(s)
Click ‘Add Details of Professional Memberships’ to display the form or select ‘Section Not Applicable’. Please
enter only current professional memberships.
CV and Covering Letter
Please upload an up-to-date CV and covering letter.
Equal Opportunities Monitoring
Please complete the requested information.

Reviewing and Submitting your Application Form
Once you have completed the required sections in the Application Checklist you have the opportunity to review,
amend and/or delete items from your application form. You can also choose to ‘Save for later’, or you can print
a copy of your form for your reference by clicking ‘Print Friendly Summary’.
When you are happy with your application, click ‘Submit’ to apply for the role. Please note you will not be able
to make any changes to your application form for this vacancy once you have selected ‘Submit’.
You should then see a screen with an ‘Application Successful’ message.
You can view the status of all of your applications by clicking ‘My Applications’ in the left-hand menu.
Using a Previous Application to Apply for a New Vacancy
If you wish to apply for another vacancy, return to the Search Vacancies page, enter your search criteria and
click ‘Search’. When you click ‘Apply’ or ‘Apply for Job’ you will be taken to a screen showing any previously
started or submitted applications.

‘Select’ the relevant previous application to use the main information from this for your new application. Please
review all information and ensure all sections are fully completed before submitting. Alternatively, click ‘New
Application Form’ to start from scratch.
Changing your Account Settings
From the left-hand navigation menu click on ‘My Account’. In this area you can:
change your email address
turn on notifications to hear about any relevant new vacancies

Changing your Email
Only external applicants can change their email addresses on the recruitment website. (Internal staff should
be applying through their portal logins. If internal staff would like to do this please refer to the user guidance for
internal staff on using the portal).
Ensure your new email address is entered correctly in the two relevant fields, enter your password and then
click ‘Change’. You will receive an email to your new email address confirming this has been done.
Resetting your Password
Should you forget your password, you need to reset this at the login screen by clicking ‘Reset Password’.
