Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions that follow.

Charmaine looked around her room. There were many posters on the wall

and numerous cuddly soft toys on the shelves. She liked them very much and

wondered which one she should give to her grandmother. After a while, she

decided to give her grandmother something else.

Charmaine’s grandmother was in the hospital and Charmaine’s mother was

going to visit her that afternoon. When Mrs Lee was about to leave the house,

Charmaine handed her a card that she had made herself. She had used glue to

stick dried petals on the front of the card. Using a crayon, she had written three

words on the card, in her best handwriting. The words expressed her hope that

her grandmother would get well soon.

A week later, Charmaine went to the hospital with her parents. When she

reached the ward, Charmaine raced to her grandmother’s bed. Charmaine’s

grandmother smiled kindly at her and hugged her. Charmaine was delighted to

see her card on the table, beside the bed.
