Our Multicam A2MC Controller is a totally new concept in CNC machinecontrol. It delivers much smoother and faster motion based on S-CURVEtrajectories the highest level of machine control capabilities available on themarket today. Unlike PC based controllers which run the motion rightfrom thePC the A2MC on the Multicam uses a motion card dedicated to the machinemotion. Whereas PC based controllers only integrate the motion at 40 to 60KHz (40,000 to 60,000 integrations per second) the A2MC runs both 2D and 3Dmotion at 4.125 million integrations per second which is the fastest controllerof any kind. This provides exceptionally smooth and continuous motion.

The A2MC incorporates a “machine area network” based on industry standardmodbus protocol. This network allows for the connectivity of a limitless varietyof tools, peripherals, and devices making the A2MC unmatched in flexibilityand versatility.

Features include: Gigabit Ethernet connection to a hostLAN system, Wireless networking. (WiFi), Limitless filedata storage, Remote accessibilty activity log via Internet,Remote machine administration via Internet, Axis driveload sensing, Automatic Tool Calibration and “plug & play”connectivity of peripheral devices.

The Multicam Router runs G-Code and is fully compatiblewith all major CAD/CAM software packages includingAlphaCam, ArtCam, BobCam, Cabinet Vision, Camworks,Enroute, MasterCam, Microvellum, StairBiz, SolidCam,and any other program that has CAD/CAM capabilities.There are NO machine memory restrictions or downloadtime as the nc files are selected by the machine operator.

CNC CONTROLLER

All Multicam SR Routing Machines are available with ourunique "State of the Art" fully enclosed automatic ToolChange Carousel which replaces the older fixedposition static Linear Tool Changers. These newenclosed tool changers, provide rapid tool changes atany position along the X-axis, no need to travel to theback or front of the machine to change tools, and noexposed tooling on the table top. When the workpiecerequires multiple tools for complex profiles, routing andboring, the tool change will perform all tasks withoutoperator intervention.

The fully Australian manufactured SR Series ofMulticam CNC Routers are manufactured for heavyduty production. The steel gantry is manufactured from250 x 150 x 5mm RHS. The steel column supports arewelded to the gantry beam making it and the columnsupports, one rigid construction. The X axis bearingsare mounted to the gantry with the Linear rails securedhorizontally on our specially designed section. Thissection is milled prior to the bearing rails being fitted.The robust steel gantry is designed to carry heavierspindles and for cutting through thicker material athigher feedrates. The machine incorporates precisionmachined rack and pinion drives on the X and Y axiswith a fully controllable 200mm ball screw on the Z axisas standard. The machine frame is manufactured from150 x 150 x 5mm Steel RHS while the Z axis spindlemount is machined from 16mm plate.

Seldom are great leaps in productivity made for manufacturersof sheet products using Plywood, MDF and Particleboard. Anotable exception is Nested-Based Manufacturing (NBM), aconcept that offers the opportunity to increase productivity andmaterial yield. Multicam Routing Systems is one of the pioneersof Nested Based Manufacturing in Australia, developing muchof the currently used technology over the last 15 years. Nestingparts greatly simplifies the manufacturing process, because allmachining operations are performed in one setup, the processeliminates the need to cut parts to size prior to machining. InNested-Based Manufacturing, parts are grouped by materialtype and thickness, quantities are identified for each part to bemachined according to production requirements. Once youenter the number of parts required, a full sheet is loaded ontothe machine then all the optimised components are drilled,routed and cut from the sheet in one setup.

We manufacture our machines to suit material sizes, processareas of 2400mm x 1200mm, 2400mm x 1800mm, 3600mm x1800mm are standard. The larger the process area, the moreefficient your NBM operation will be. If a kitchen takes 65 squaremetres of material, using 2400 x 1200 sheets you will nest andcut 23 sheets; with 3600x1800 sheets you will nest and cut only10 sheets. The sheet changing on the machine alone will savingapprox 1hour per kitchen. At 3 kitchens per day that's over 3hours a day, PLUS the savings from better yield that the largersheet will give you.
