Prisoners
The Nazis may have been aiming for the Jews; but Jews aren't the only ones who suffered from the holocaust. Anyone who ever helped a Jew was put into camp. Anyone who did not obey the Nazi's rules were put into camp. There are many different people who were put into the camps.
Slave labor
The prisoners at the concentration camps often
acted like slaves. They would work for several
years than would be killed. They would sometimes use
the prisoners as guinea pigs. They would have them
drink strange liquids and see if it was safe for a normal person to have.
The clothing
The clothes which you had on when you first went
to the camp would be discarded and you would
be given these uniforms. It had black and white
stripes. One size fits all. As you can imagine it was very cold outside. Some
would suffer from hypothermia.
Food
Another common thing the prisoners died
from was food. The Nazis thought of them as objects. Things that
do not have needs. They got fed just enough to
survive. Some however starved.
Auschwitz
One of the main camps was Auschwitz. Really it was just a big set of three camps. Auschwitz 1 2 and 3. Of course the first one was the worst. Auschwitz was created in 1940.
The holocaust is one of the biggest mistakes the world has ever made. What a terrible event it was. We need to study our mistakes to better handle them the next time around.
