TIG/m is a Green Transportation Engineering Firmand Rolling Stock Manufacturer
We have been engaged by the City of Riverside to Study the Feasibility of building a state-of-the-art self-powered (overhead-wire free) electric/hydrogenstreetcar system and establishing a world headquarters for transportationtechnology research and development, with an associated manufacturing facility and test-track, in Riverside.
We are currently located in Chatsworth, CA and have designed or design/built street running rail systems in 6 countries around the world.

OPERATIONS: Reciprocation vs. Circulation
• Reciprocation: (Traveling back and forth on a single track or set of tracks). No turnaround required; but requires double-ended cars, and layover & recovery at every cycle.
• Circulation: (Traveling in a single direction on a continuous track). Requires turnarounds or loop configuration; but can use single-ended cars and avoids layover & recovery.
TIG/m favors CIRCULATION
Double-ended cars• More complex
• More expensive• Higher maintenance costs
• Fewer seats
Single-ended cars• Less expensive• Less complex
• Lower maintenance costs• More seats

CONCEPTA single pinched loop with several open sections can serve as
the spine (Phase 1) for a multiple loop system built-out over time.
The completed system is envisioned as providing service from Downtown, east to UCR, west to La Sierra, and north to the
North Specific Plan.
Each loop would operate single-ended trams on an 8-minute headway with transfer between loops at selected passenger stations.
Phase 1 would be built with turnouts in place in order to facilitate theaddition of future loops without the need to interrupt service.

UCR STATIONDepending on availability of land, this should be a major multi-modal transportation hub
with streetcar, bus, and bicycle facilities as well as public spaces.
![Page 15: Concept alignment in 5 Phases](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022042117/6257d7eb714684549a41e62c/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
TRACK INSTALLATION
Low-Impact Trackform + Panelized Track = Minimize or Eliminate Utilities Relocation
1. Low-Impact cast-in-place:• Non-Electrified• Shallow (10-12 inches)• Rapid Installation
2. Panelized over Utilities
![Page 16: Concept alignment in 5 Phases](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022042117/6257d7eb714684549a41e62c/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Goal from within:Generate more transit trips and
reduce VMT by providing a more regular service based on a
shorter headway (8 minutes).
Our current demand analysis is focusedon calculating this potential increase in ridership.
5-minute Pedestrian Catchment
![Page 17: Concept alignment in 5 Phases](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022042117/6257d7eb714684549a41e62c/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Goal from without:Generate more transit trips and reduce VMT by providing a ring
of Park-and-Ride facilities feeding automobile drivers to the
bus lines and ultimately to the streetcar system and micro-
mobility at the core.
![Page 18: Concept alignment in 5 Phases](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022042117/6257d7eb714684549a41e62c/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Current data shows that the ratio of automobile-based trips to bus-based trips in and out of the highlighted
area is 25 : 1.
By adding a 1-acre P&R at these locations, this ratio could be reduced to 21 : 1.
This action alone represents a potential increase in Public Transportation ridership in this local area of
16%.
![Page 19: Concept alignment in 5 Phases](https://reader034.vdocument.in/reader034/viewer/2022042117/6257d7eb714684549a41e62c/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Automobile • Cost of ownership• Insurance• Depreciation• Maintenance & Repairs• Parking Fees• Fuel Costs• Emissions Pollution
By instituting a single-platform fare system for bus, tram and micro-mobility, a very good case
can be made for the economic attractiveness of public transportation vs. automobile use
vs.
