HOW TO PLAYFACEjibbidy:

• Place the blue cards in a pile beside the board.• Place a game counter for each player on the big blue F start space.• Take turns to draw a card, work out the note, and move along the blue path to that letter.• As each player moves every player must chant the letter names along the way.• The winner is the first to reach the green G space at the centre of the board.

jibbidyFACE:• Place the green cards in a pile beside the board.• Place a game counter for each player on the big green G start space at the centre of the board.• Take turns to draw a card, work out the note, and move along the green path to that letter.• As each player moves every player must chant the letter names along the way.• The winner is the first to reach the blue F space at the end of the path.

*You can also play a combined version: FACEjibbidy-jibbidyFACE by beginning with the blue path and then turning around and switching cards in the centre space. The winner in FACEjibbidy-jibbidyFACE is the first to make it all the way back to the blue F start space.

ASSEMBLYTo assemble this game:

• Print out the small game board (page 3) and laminate if desired.• Or print out the large game board (pages 4-5), trim along the dotted lines, and laminate if desired.• Print out the game cards (pages 6-13) double sided so that the space note cards have a blue backing and the line note cards have a green backing.• Cut the game cards along the dotted lines and laminate if desired.• You will also need a game counter (eraser, button, small toy, etc.) for each player.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESFACEjibbidy-jibbidyFACE was designed specifically to complement the Piano Sa-fari series (correlating with book 2 unit 2) but can be used with any method and with students of any instrument. This game gives students lots of practice with the skips alphabet, helping them to find notes more quickly on the staff.
