WALK-A-THON & SERVICE TRIPBright sunshine and a beautiful day awaited over 300 walkers, including over 70 parents, as the Concordia Walk-A-Thon was underway. This year’s goal was to raise $5,000 USD to go towards service projects that the students participate in every year, like the 300+ backpacks given to students in Phu Tho Province last year. After many laps walked and huge smiles all around, the total money raised came to over $7,400 USD, shattering the day’s goal completely!

Two weeks later, our Middle School students took that money and traveled to Nam Dinh province to help complete an LCMS International community playground project that was already underway. Students spent time with the people in the neighborhood where the playground was being built, got involved with a little painting and construction themselves, and were able to visit families in the province as part of their social studies class.

WE ARE THANKFUL FOR CONCORDIA FAMILIES!

year. The students even provided some wonderful entertainment as the Middle and High School concert choir performed for the group. Over 400 were served on the two days and parents contributed to the great fun with dishes from their own countries, leaving plenty of food to go around.

We want to thank everyone who attended and say once again how thankful we are to have each and every one of you as a part of our Concordia Hanoi community.

CONCORDIA FAMILIES A BLESSING TO OUR COMMUNITY

We have never had so much to be thankful for compared to this year. Concordia traditionally celebrates as a community with one huge Thanksgiving feast every year but our family numbers have swelled so large that we had to hold TWO luncheons this

CONCORDIA AND OUR HANOI COMMUNITY!

As part of their Girl Scouts training, our Daisies, Brownies, Juniors had a chance to learn from the US Embassy Marines on how to respect a flag as well as challenge themselves at physical training exercises. The question is- who had more fun, the Girl Scouts or the Marines?

DECEMBER 6: GLORIA CHRISTMAS CONCERTS IN THE CONCORDIA AUDITORIUMDon’t miss this amazing musical event and a chance to celebrate Christmas as a school. Please also bring a plate of cookies or some other sweet treat to share with other families. See you there!

REMEMBER COUNTRY COSTUMES & CULTURAL SHARES FOR THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALThe parent-run Concordia International Festival on February 6 is a wonderful time to celebrate the many nationalities at the school. While you are back home on holidays for Christmas, be thinking about bringing back things that would represent your country to share at the international festival: clothing, games, food, and other similar fun things. Students will wear clothing to represent their country on the day. There is a parent meeting on December 9 at 9:30am to discuss upcoming events.

To share an event in the next newsletter, please contact Lia Garcia Halpin at [email protected]
