CATALOGUE

Conditions of Entry1.1 The AMPS Inc. Southern promotional group reserves the right

to accept or reject any entry without assigning a reason. 1.2 All ponies must be registered with the AMPS Inc. and owned by

a financial member of the AMPS Inc. 1.3 Any animal that has been bred or produced by the judge cannot

be shown before that judge. 1.4 All exhibitors shall be bound by and observe the decisions of

The AMPS Inc. NSW Branch 1.5 Conduct : Any exhibitor whose conduct is considered to be ill

mannered, aggressive or unsportsmanlike during the judging of any event may be issued a warning and subsequently dismissed from the class or disqualified.

1.6 Exhibitors may not leave the judging arena until excused by the stewards.

1.7 No person shall approach a judge with regard to a decision. 1.8 Once a class has been judged it shall not be re-judged. 1.9 Once a judge has commenced judging a class, no animal may be

taken out of the ring without the permission of the judge 1.10 A judge may refuse to judge any exhibit that he/she

considers to be unsound 1.11 Exhibitors enter on the condition they agree to abide by the

show rules and the Code of Ethics, offensive language & behaviour will not be tolerated.

1.12 Ponies 85.5cm and over must be measured prior to the commencement of classes. Non-compliance will result in ineligibility to compete.

1.13 Any ponies that do not conform to the AMPS Inc. Standard of Showing will not be able to compete.

1.14 No late entries will be accepted and no entries will be accepted on the day of the show. All payments must be complete prior to the show date.

1.15 All Handlers/Riders/Drivers of ponies have to be members of the AMPS Inc. and must sign an indemnity form prior to competing.

1.16 Once a class has commenced, there shall be no change of leader.

1.17 The onus shall be on the exhibitor to ensure that he/she is eligible for certain classes he/she enters.

1.18 Cruelty to an animal – any alleged acts of cruelty are to be reported to the AMPS Inc NSW Branch Committee in writing supported by at least two other letters within one hour of the incident.

1.19 The judge’s decision is final.1.20 The AMPS Inc. reserves the right:

a) to substitute a judge if the advertised judge becomes unavailable; b) Disqualify any pony which, in the opinion is in poor condition at the time of showing c) Adjudicate upon entry or upon dispute or doubt and to make any determination upon any matter and this decision shall be final and not subject to any appeal of any kind. d) To alter the timetable and/or its content

1.21 Neither the society nor the committee shall be liable to any person in case of loss or damage by reason of any defect, accident, negligence or neglect, however arising.

2. Instructions to competitors2.1 All competitors must park in designated areas.2.2 Ponies must move at walking pace at all times when outside

the exhibition ring or exercise area. 2.3 All stallions or colts must be double tied to floats or trucks. 2.4 All stallions, mare, geldings and foals must wear correctly

fitted head-gear and be under control at all times. 2.5 All equipment used i.e. saddles, bridles etc, must be suitable

for the activity to be undertaken and in good repair. 2.6 All riders and drivers must wear properly fitted AS/NXS3838

or equivalent helmets with chin-straps and be less than 5 years old.

2.7 Appropriate footwear to be worn while riding, the foot must come out of the stirrup in the event of a fall and must not become trapped. Safety stirrups, toe stopped or clogs are recommended. All handlers must wear closed footwear for protection in case of a pony stepping on their feet.

2.8 No dogs allowed. 2.9 No naked flame will be allowed at the venue and all fire

regulations will be observed. 2.10 No alcohol permitted on grounds. 2.11 All protests must be made in writing and must be

accompanied by a non-refundable $50.00 fee. The decision of the AMPS Inc. southern promotional group Committee is final.

2.12 Exhibit Numbers may be collected from the Office. Correct numbers are to be worn on the pony or handler.

2.13 Handlers/Ponies should be presented in English attire.2.14 A Novice Harness pony is one that has not won a similar

class at a Royal or Agricultural or Feature Show.2.15 All Harness Ponies to be 3yrs & over.3. Stallions/Colts & Broodmare3.1 Stallions or Colts are not permitted in children’s classes. 3.2 A Stallion or Colt shall not be led, ridden or driven by a

person under the age of 18yrs in any class whatsoever. 3.3 A Brood mare is a mare which has a foal certificate supplied

or which has a foal at foot. If entered in the broodmare class, the exhibit is not eligible for any other class.

4. Information for judges, stewards and exhibitors4.1 All AMP exhibits are to be judged in accordance with the

AMPS Inc. Standard of Excellence.. 4.2 Where an exhibit which has received an award is subsequently disqualified all placings shall be adjusted as if that exhibit was not judged and the exhibit with the next highest rank shall fill the vacant position.4.2 AWARDS:

a) All classes will be awarded from 1st to 5th place where applicable

4.4 Prize Money will be allocated as follows:a) Supreme exhibits = $60.00b) Grand champion AMP Exhibit of Show = $100.00c) Best Youngstock of Show = $80.00d) Best Foal of Show = $30.00e) All Champion Awards(except performance) = $30.00f) All Reserve Champion Awards (except performance) =

$15.004.5 The Supreme Stallion or Colt, Supreme Mare or Filly, Supreme Gelding, Grand Champion of Show and Best Youngstock AMP will be judged on a pointscore. Points will be allocated as follows: a) Conformation: 10 points b) Movement: 10 points c) Presentation: 5 points d) Manners: 5 points Total: 30 points e) The pony with the overall highest combined score will be awarded the Grand Champion of Show, Best Youngstock AMP will be awarded to the colt, filly or junior gelding with the highest combined score and the individual Supremes will be awarded to the pony with the highest combined score, i.e. the stallion or colt, mare or filly, junior or senior gelding. f) In the event of a tie, the judges will be asked to chose a winner or give the pony with the overall highest points for conformation preference. Should a tie still result, this will be conducted for movement/action, then presentation, and then the 3 judges collaborate.4.6 Highpoint Youth will be awarded to the youth under 18yrs with the highest points gained from competing in all classes (except stallion and colt classes). Points from only one pony handled by the Youth will be counted towards the Highpoint Youth Award.
