Safety Staffing: 3 staff will accompany the children – Miss Ramsden, Mr

Gough and Mrs Bowen, a ratio of 1:8. In addition, Condover Hall staff will be with us at all times.

Miss Ramsden will be taking her car and mobile phone in case of emergencies.

Please make sure you have informed us of any emergency contact changes, medication and specific dietary requirements. Full, in-date inhalers will need to be kept with your child at all times.

If an accident does occur, you will be contacted immediately. However, should this not be possible, Miss Ramsden will act in loco-parentis.

Risk assessments for all activities have been undertaken and your children will be very well cared for at Condover Hall. However, we stress that all children must listen to, and follow, instructions at all times, accepting responsibility for their own behaviour.

Remember, you can follow us on Twitter.

History of Condover Hall Condover Hall is steeped in history with

earliest records describing the Saxon village of Condover as a rural manor, forming part of the estate of the Earl of Shrewsbury. It returned to the crown when his son rose against Henry I and was deprived of his honours in 1102.

Civil feuds resulted in Condover passing through a number of different families and repeatedly returning to the crown.

The building we see today was built in 1586.

Present day In 1947, the Hall was acquired by the

National Institute for the Blind and opened the first school in Britain for blind children.

The property was then bought and run as a school for the past 4 years.

Over the centuries many famous people have visited and enjoyed Condover Hall. These include the American writer Mark Twain (1835 – 1910) who visited the house in 1873 and 1879.

Two new teaching blocks were opened by the Duke of Westminster and the late Princess of Wales respectively.

Condover HallCondover Hall is an elegant Grade I

listedthree-story Elizabethan sandstone mansion, standing in a conservation area on the outskirts of Condover village, Shropshire, England, four miles south of the county town of Shrewsbury

We will be leaving school at 8.30am and ask that the children meet in the Training Room (end of the KS1 floor) at 7.45am. This will allow us time to address any queries that may have arisen over the weekend.

We estimate the journey to be approximately 2 ½ hours. Please ensure your child has had any travel sickness medication if necessary.
