It is hard to believe that we are on the cusp of yet another ski/ snowboard season. I hope every- one’s “off season” was enjoyable and you are all recharged and ready to prepare for a great 2017-18 season. I have some personal guarantees from a number of patrollers (who, for their safety, will remain name- less at this Hme) that this will be a very snowy winter. We will be doing a few things differently at this year’s refresher that you should keep in mind as refresher day approaches. “StaHon 6” will be a special room dedicated to (1) fundraising for the Young Adult Patroller program, and (2) support for a very important naHonal Board of Direc- tors elecHon. This area will be open all day long, so you can stop by during regis- traHon, lunch or at the end of the day. If you are really quick, sneak in between your refresher staHons. We will be doing away with the staHon sign off sheets. Instead of having some- one iniHal hundreds of pieces of paper, you will be given a name badge when you register. This will be scanned as you enter each staHon and will serve as our proof to NSP that you have aUended each of the refresher staHons. These badges will be printed well in advance of the refresher, so it is imperaHve that you go online and register for the refresher course early. If we have to print badges while you wait, it will delay the registraHon process for everyone. NSP’s Refresher CommiUee has listened to our comments and have done a great job with the Workbook and Online Course. The Workbook focuses on preparing us on the skills porHon of the refresher. The Online Course covers only the knowl- edge based objecHves of the refresher. The duplicaHon/redundancy has preUy Refresher Reminders Please, if you haven’t already done so, enroll in E202170009. Put the newsleUer down and do it now before doing any- thing else. If you are not sure you have enrolled, check your profile to see if it appears under “My Enrolled Courses” (Click on “Hi [your name]”, click on “EducaHon Roles” and scroll down). If “OEC Refresher A” is not listed, Go back to Member Resources, Click on “Course Schedule”, enter E202170009 where it says “Course Number Equals”, click on “ OEC Refresher A”, click “Register Myself” and follow all the prompts. You may have to scroll down to find the “Submit Order” buUon. You will see a ConfirmaHon Page when your enrollment has been successfully completed. If you don’t see the ConfirmaHon, you’re not done yet (hint, scroll down and look for a “Submit Order” buUon).
