STEP 3: GOLF The golf tournament will be held on Wednesday, September 3. Advance registration, with payment, is required for golf. No registration at the meeting. Any refund request must be made in writing and submitted to the MACA office by Friday, August 15, 2014. No refunds after August 16, 2014. GOLF: 2014’s tournament will be competitive and fun event for players of all abilities. You are welcome to put together your own team OR we’ll be happy to assign players to a team. Your participation will make a significant donation to support the CropLife Ambassador Network program. The 2014 MACA Tournament will be held on Wednesday, September 3, with a shotgun start at 11:45 AM at the Brickyard Crossing, 4400 West 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222. The golf course is 15-20 minute drive from The Alexander. Transportation to and from the golf course will be on your own. Lunch will be available for all on your own at the course, starting at 10:30 AM. Below are the basics for this year’s tournament. 1. 4-person teams. “Scramble” or “Shambles” format. Tournament rules will be sent to all golfers before the annual meeting. 2. We are planning on two flights (competitive and fun) for the tournament. a. Based on each player’s handicap index or estimated handicap based on reported scores, we’ll calculate a team handicap for the game. Players without a handicap index can report their last five 18 hole scores. b. Players without a foursome will be assigned a team. 3. Prize payout to the top 1/3rd of the teams. The $125.00 early golf registration fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart and a donation to the CropLife Ambassador Network program. All golfers must register for the meeting to participate in the golf tournament. Final details will be emailed to golf registrants prior to the meeting. To reserve rental golf clubs at $70/set, please indicate your request on the 2014 Registration Form. It’s the individual golfer’s responsibility to pay for the rental clubs at the golf course. Awards will be made Thursday morning at the MACA Annual Meeting which starts at 7:30 AM. Play should be finished by 5:00 PM allowing time to return for the President’s reception at The Alexander. In order to keep the registration fee at $125, we’ll ask for you to be a MACA Annual Meeting sponsorship which range from $50 to $1,000 and include: Hole Sponsors (Closest to the Pin/Longest Drive) for $15.00 per person. Estimate $900-$1,000. Proceeds from the golf tournament will be made to CropLife Ambassador Network to continue telling the good news story of Agriculture to elementary school children and teachers. A one-way shared-ride via Carey Indiana is $16.95 per person (not including gratuity). See link for additional details on their shared-ride program. Guests can make reservations by calling 800-888- 4639 or check their website. Taxis typically run $40 (one-way, not including gratuity). There are many things to see and do while in Indianapolis.
