Bio - Andy Johnston worked as a full-time dental technician from 1996 to 2014. During this time, he became the laboratory manager, achieved his Certification as a Dental Technician (CDT) in the Specialty of Complete Dentures and, eventually started a dental lab of his own. Andy has also served on the Board of Directors for both the Washington State and Oregon State Lab Associations. Andy managed both the West Coast and Midwest Lab Division for Aspen Dental from 2104-2016 while continuing to update their in-house training program. Since early 2016, Andy has worked for Kulzer and currently holds the position of Manager of Market Development for Laboratory Products. He attends and lectures at various events around the world and is involved in the product improvement, development and training at Kulzer North America.

SPEAKER: Eugene RoyzengurtPROGRAM: Implant Supported Removable Dentures by GC America

Bio - Mr. Eugene Royzengurt has been working in the dental industry since 1996. He began as a Dental Assistant, later becoming an In-house Laboratory Technician, specializing in Removable Prosthodontics. Mr. Royzengurt’s education includes an Associate’s Degree and certificates in Dental Assistance and Radiology. He is also currently finishing a degree in Denturism. He has published several peer review articles on the subject of Removable Prosthetics and currently lectures in the United States and internationally. Mr.Royzengurt has been a member of the Dental Technicians Guild since 2013. He currently resides in Sandy, Utah, where he owns Apple Dental Laboratory L.L.C.

SPEAKER: Alexander Wuensche, CDTPROGRAM: Zirconia vs. Zirconia - Equal or Totally Different?A trip through the different types of zirconia and their ideal use in progressive and complex implant reconstructions.

Synopsis: Alexander Wuensche CDT is taking the audience through the world of progressive materials in use for complex implant reconstructions. Our industry is moving extremely fast and new materials are getting constantly launched. This lecture is giving a detailed insight into the difference of available zirconia types, from traditional high opacity up to modern high translucent zirconia, even in high strength available. Additionally, combinations with high

performance polymers will be covered to show how even compromised situations can be brought to a successful result. Other important factors include the differences in software applications and milling capabilities, as wellas the variety of milling strategies and sinter protocols. From design with the proper software, nesting, milling and post sinter treatment, Alexander is going to give a detailed insight in these workflows.

Bio - Alexander Wunsche, CDT was born and raised in Friedrichshafen, Germany. He attended dental technology school in Nuertingen, Germany and obtained his accreditation as a CDT in Friedrichshafen, Germany while working in the family-owned dental laboratory and dental office. Further education in special laboratories for implants and all ceramic restorations was completed in Ravensburg, Germany. He worked extensively in improving the digital workflow for design and fabrication of restorations for dental labs and dental offices in Germany and the United States with a focus in high aesthetic and complex treatments. Now president of Zahntechnique Dental Lab in Miami, FL he specializes in complex implant cases and CAD/CAM technology. Alexander Wuensche has lectured for numerous leading Dental Education Programs including Seattle Study Club and the Pankey Institute, and published articles for numerous outstanding Dental Publications.

Bio - Madelyn Stringham joined PREAT Corporation in 2017 as the Marketing Director with a portfolio of experience in technical service and sales positions across the medical industry. In her role at PREAT, she works hand in hand with the technical and promotional teams in the development of new implant and attachment solutions. Ms. Stringham is also instrumental in the PREAT Continuing Education program, which provides over 60 hours per year of non-commercial education on restorative options.

Bio - Dr. Arthur(Tony) Tomaro, a graduate of The University of Michigan, School of Dentistry, where he also completed his Master’s of Science, and Bachelor of Science. He

continued his education and training under some of the top leaders in dentistry. A graduate of the F. A.C.E. institute, a leader in complex gnathology and TMJ. Prior to his relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Tomaro enjoyed 26 years of private practice in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Tomaro is previous Director of Clinics at Las Vegas Institute for Advance Dental Studies. He maintains a private practice limited to Anterior Esthetic, Complex Occlusion, and Full Mouth Reconstruction. Dr. Tomaro is recognized as a leader in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. His knowledge of occlusion and esthetics has made him popular for other dentists to seek him out for their own personal care as well as many of the performers in Las Vegas. As a member of Catapult Education, Dr. Tomaro teaches hands on courses, as well as peer lectures to dentists nationally and internationally. SPEAKER: Patric Allen, DDPROGRAM: Denture Archaeology: How the Past Shapes the Future by Diashine

Course Description: This 90 minute lecture will include a variety of topics tying together how old techniques and materials can tie together with our modern day practice. We’ll discuss our evolution and how we continually reshape our perspective towards practice and the profession heading into the next decade and beyond.

Bio – Patrick Allen was introduced to the denturist profession in 2004 and became a Graduate of George Brown College’s IDEC Program in 2008. He currently operates 2 small practices with his wife under the banner of Central Maine Denture. He active in the profession by frequently attending continuing education all over the world, as well as the past president of the Maine Licensed Denturist Association and currently an NDA board member.

SPEAKER: Esther Schwenning, DDPROGRAM: Making the Change from Analog to Digital by Ivoclar

Course Description: Digital Dentures - What do I need to Know???What is the current situation with in-house Digital Dentures? What are my colleges doing? Should I go digital, or wait and see? In this informative course Esther Schwenning will be discussing what does it exactly means to be a digital Denturist. She will be going over what you need to know whether you are digital or not, and what to look out for in the future. You will gain an understanding of digital terminology, new materials that you need to learn

how to work with, and what computer systems you should be aware of. Esther will also cover what equipment is needed and give options for starting small or going in big. You will also see a step by step demo of how do make an immediate denture from intra-oral scanning a patient to design and manufacturing. By being able to avoid the traditional analog impression, you will be more accurate with mobile teeth, and is great for gaggers and dental anxiety patients. Esther will also be reviewing the clinical steps of a BPS/SEMCD denture and how going digital makes the process so much easier, with much more predictable results.

Bio - After working in both Denturist Clinics and Dental labs for a number of years, Esther decided this was her future and completed her training in 2007 at VCC. She brings a wealth of enthusiasm to her industry. Between volunteering with the DABC for 6 years and now with the Curriculum Advisory Committee of Canada, she dedicates her free time to expanding her knowledge to her profession. Esther opened her own clinic in 2011, where her and her team practice what they preach. Esther is a BPS trainer for Ivoclar and an instructor for Dr. Abe’s SEMCD (Lower Suction Dentures). Esther’s first stint into digital dentures was in 2012. After digital technology improved she began transitioning her clinic and in January 2019 Esther and her team became a fully digital practice. Currently Esther is a KOL for Ivoclar Vivadent, 3Shape and Asiga.

SPEAKER: BRIAN CARSONPROGRAM: Color Me Not- Recreating Nature by Schütz

Course Description: In this unique 2 part discussion / hands on demonstrations we will discuss natural gingival architecture and identify key areas of color. Also discussed; what makes great wax? What handling characteristics and performance can high quality wax deliver? Color wax? What are the benefits? The hands on demo portion will show you how to create contours versus festooning. How do you create denture base that

replicated nature and aids in self cleansing? The use of colored waxes will also be used in the demonstration.

Bio - Brian has received training in Engen, Germany for total prosthesis construction and is a current advisory board member to the laboratory program at Durham Technical Community College. He has authored several technical articles to include the “Masters Workshop,” which was featured with Inside Dental Technology October 2011 entitled “Creating Stability and Maintaining Age Appropriate Esthetics”, and March 2016 JDT issue , “Efficient Denture Setups Using the NFP Method,” and is a continuing contributor the National Denturist Magazine.   Brian feels that understanding the different philosophies within the art of removable prosthetics has given him an insightful and unique perspective.

Bio - Dean Fenwick is a practice management specialist for denturists who has worked with over 800 denturist clinics across Canada and the USA. He founded the Denturist Office Manager software (DOMx) 21 years ago: denturistsoftware.com . He has taught a 4th year required course for practice manage-ment with computers in the denturist practice for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) 2004-2009. He has also instructed computer science; business management; and entrepreneurship at the college level.
