4. Now you will be at the Main Pageof HP SmartStart CD.
Note:If there is no Logical Drive is present on your server, then the SmartStart CD home page will
look the one provided below. Both InstallandRun Saved Installationoption will be unavailable as
there is noLogical drives defined. You can create a logical drive using HP ACU now.

5. Click on Maintenancefrom the main page of HP SmartStart CD

6. Click on HP Array Configuration and Diagnosticsfrom the Maintenance Option.

7. HP Array Configuration Utility (ACU) will open now.
8. Select the HP Smart Array Controllerfrom the list.
Note:If there are multiple Storage controllers available, select the right controller from the list.
Example of Array Controllers are HP Smart Array E200 Controller, HP Smart Array P400 Controller etc

9. Now the main HP Array Configuration windowwill open.
10. You could find the available Hard Drives in the list in the left pane of the window.

12. The Screen will like the one provided below.
Note:In our case, we only have 1 Hard drive connected to the Server. Hence you will find only one
hard drive listed.

13. Select the Hard Drivesfrom the list and click OK. The Array will be created.

14. Now we need to create a logical drive.
15. Click on Create Logical Drive.

16. Select the RAID level (Fault Tolerance), also ensure that Array Accelerator is Enabled.
17. Click on Save button to create the logical drive.
Note:As we have only one HDD, the only available RAID level is RAID 0, if we had 2 HDD, then we
will get the RAID 1 option as well. If 3 HDDs are installed, then you will find RAID 5 listed in this
window.

18. Success, now you have created RAID 0 logical drive.
19. Click on Exit ACUbutton to exit ACU.

7. Select the Controller/Logical drive from the list, click Next

Note:Ensure that you select the right Windows version from the list. If you have a HP Branded OS CD
(OEM) then you need to select the Windows version under HP-Branded Media Option.

10. Now you will be at Operating System Media Sourcewindow.
11. Select the Windows Installation CD location from the list. Click Next
Note:As I am mapping Windows CD using iLO Virtual Media, I have selected iLO Virtual Media as the
installation Source. If you are installing from a CD/DVD, then select the right option from the list.

12. Now you will bet at Disk Partitioning Optionspage.
13. Select the file system (NTFS/FAT), also select the Partition size for the OS. Click Next

15. Enter Computer Name, Administrator Password and rest of the information. Click Next
Note:In Some cases, you may be prompted to enter Windows Product key as well. If prompted,
please fill the Windows Product key at the same page to continue the installation.

16. Now you will bet at WBEM/SNMP Configurationpage.
17. Select YESfor both SNMP and WBEM Providers. Click Next

27. When Prompted Insert the Windows OS CD or use iLO Virtual media to map the OS CD.

29. Wait till SmartStart CD finishes copying of Windows OS files to the HDD.

34. Great, Windows is successfully installed on your Server, now you are ready to roar!
Here in this post, we have installed Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit on a DL360 G7 Server using
SmartStart CD 8.6 version. If you are installing other version of Windows, you will also need to enter
Windows Product key at Step number 15.
