Kannalin Piyanantawarin (Pam) & Chaweang Kunchayangkul (Chris)Keep learning

Kannalin and Chaweang, Amway new Founders Diamonds, admit they didn’t really like talking to new people before they joined Amway. “We were complete introverts, meeting and talking with strangers made us uncomfortable. It’s a character trait we always thought was impossible to change. Along the way, after realising just how much we could help change people’s lives for the better we became more open to telling others about the products and the business,” said Kannalin.

Changing this mindset led them onto the pathway to success as well as learning what helps to build a strong business.

Being flexible and adapting to change are keys to business success in any industry but there’s one other attribute that’s crucial in this business: continuous learning.

“We’ve achieved success in this business because we’ve been learning constantly. We’ve not stopped learning just because we’ve achieved higher pins. When most people achieve a certain level they stop learning without realising it. They think they’ve learnt all there is to know. We’re always working on improving our business knowledge and skills every day and that’s what has helped us get so far,” said Chaweang.

“I personally love Instagram to model what this business has done for us. I use it capture people’s attention. If you’re looking your best or your skin looks nice they’ll want to know what you’re doing that’s working,”.

“Our parents are our inspiration and we want them to be proud of us because of the life we’ve built. We want to provide good lives for our son and team members and want them to believe they can also achieve the same level of success. We want to prove that they too can go as far as they want in this business – it’s easy and can be done,” said Kannalin.

Defining success

Success means different things to everyone who joins this business. How do Kannalin and Chaweang define their version? Has it changed since they became IBOs?

“When we first started we described success as getting back time and money. It was mostly personal as we were focused on building something new. Now we define success differently and it has evolved to become multidimensional. Today, we also value health and helping others to succeed. We get great pleasure in helping others build their own Amway businesses,” said the couple.

Live better lives

The couple said their most important accomplishment as IBOs is helping others better their lives. “We’ve helped improve the lives of our downlines supported them to build sustainable businesses, and see them grow and develop in many positive ways. Our downline keeps us motivated to work daily. If we’re not constantly working then our knowledge and teaching methods will eventually become obsolete. If we’re not learning and improving constantly then we might lose touch with people in the business.”

Tools and technologies

A sustainable business needs mentoring, the right technologies and support. Amway digital technology, social media and the Amway business centre play a big role in helping them and their teams to build strong businesses.

“Our business is global so MyBiz is very important for us to monitor the different markets. It’s mainly what we use,” said Chaweang.

For Kannalin, social media helps in building a branded and visible business. She finds it an easy platform to use to show their lifestyle.

“Everyone uses social media and we use it to promote the business as part of one’s daily life. While our downlines have had some fantastic results with Facebook, I personally love Instagram to model what this business has done for us. I use it capture people’s attention. If you’re looking your best or your skin looks nice they’ll want to know what you’re doing that’s working,” said Kannalin.

Amway business centre

The Amway business centre is an essential part of how they bring people into the business. “We use the centres frequently and do many of our trainings there. If the person likes what we’re teaching them they can buy the products straightaway and also the newcomer feels more confident when they see the actual store,” they said.

What are some products they’re looking forward to? “We love all health-related products so we’re excited about the probiotic and new flavours of XS Energy Drinks. Personally, we can’t live without Double X and BodyKey!”

Looking back and into the future

Looking back to when they started, what’s the one piece of advice they’d give themselves?

“If we could go back in time, I’d tell myself to believe in my potential and that I’ll be very successful one day. We must not waste time being negative, get discouraged or give up easily because it will all work out well,” said Kannalin.

What’s a big goal they’re aiming for in 2020 and beyond?

“We’re aiming to improve our global standing by helping our downlines move up to higher pins,” said Chaweang.

Ben & Jani Physick Following your passion

It was a weekend seminar and a passionate IBO that changed the Physicks’ lives some years ago and inspired them to start their Amway business. At that point, Ben was running a personal training business and Jani was working full time.

Today, the couple have achieved Founders Diamond; an enviable level in the business which will provide financial security for their family’s future. More importantly, Ben and Jani have helped many people regain good health by promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.

Social collaboration

In order to build a strong team and keep people connected to each other, Ben and Jani have always focused on bringing people together through events. “We’re also doing what we call ‘social collaboration’ where we connect with people through social media. We run and manage a private group on Facebook, do Facebook Live videos, use Messenger to share tips, product information and insights so our teams (especially those in regional areas) feel a sense of community as we don’t (physically) see them often,” said Jani.

The couple have connected and grown an engaged audience by adding value to their messaging on social media. They started by creating a personal brand on different social media platforms to position themselves as recognisable leaders in the health and wellness industry.

“We talk about things that we think people want to learn like health principles. Then at the higher end, we do a lot of training. We record live events which people can view later when they’re ready or comment in real time, so they feel as though they’re a part of the actual presentation. We share casual, fun community-based videos and interactions that make people feel at ease and want to interact with us,” said the couple.

Rarely a day goes by that we don’t use the Amway Business Centres. They’re an extremely important part of our community, for connecting with people and showing them the quality of the products firsthand.

What new products are the pair excited about? “We’re looking forward to the new XS™ Energy Drinks flavours, some new nutrition products and of course NUTRIWAY® Probiotic!”

Definition of success

With the couple experiencing success at such a high level in the business, has their definition of success changed since they first became IBOs?

“In the early days, I’d probably defined it as things you could acquire in life, perhaps some of the levels that we could reach in terms of the business and the money we could make. Today it’s about purpose, significance and making a difference in other people’s lives. It’s also achieving small goals that we set ourselves along the way - having a balanced life and being a better parent and husband,” said Ben.

For Jani, success means having choices. “My definition of success is creating the choices for us as a family, the opportunities and experiences that we can then pass on to our kids. Because while it’s wonderful to be wealthy and have many financial options, it’s another thing to be able to have time to spend with your family doing what you want.”

Success formula

The Physicks have achieved many milestones in their business. What’s contributed towards the success they’re currently enjoying in their Amway business?

“We’ve been very teachable. We’ve trusted our coaches and are guided by them on all levels. We’ve been extremely consistent and persistent in what we believe and didn’t give up. We also made the decision to be loyal and commit to this business. In doing that, we also needed to be loyal to our upline and the direction that they were helping us move towards. We learned how to be loyal to our downline as well and the people that come into our business because ultimately no one can build a business like this without having genuine, real relationships with people and actually caring about their reasons for being here too,” said Jani.

“We’ve tried helping people with where they’re at - to grow people rather than grow our business. We’ve capitalised on trends and always tried to do things a little differently. We use technology to support our business and we’re not afraid to change and do different things along the way. Another strategy has been to choose a niche – the wellness or weight loss market is huge and something we’ve identified with. We’ve become obsessed with helping people get healthy,” said Ben.

Future goals

What’s next for this couple who’ve made good health and wellness their life’s goal? They say it’s all about teamwork and getting their own teams to higher pins.

“We want to help people in our teams to achieve Emerald and Founders Platinum in their businesses. Our focus in 2020 is about helping our downlines progress and maintaining a solid Diamond business. We are really excited about the Global Rewards Program and want to maximise this amazing program,” said Ben.

We also use the centres for our first, second and third shops with IBOs on the Chart Your Course program which helps show them what they’re really buying,” said Ben.

“We find it’s just a great place to connect with people, show them the business, let them touch and feel the products, show them what’s available and attend demonstrations or training. It’s a really important part of our business building style,” said Jani who often takes IBOs to the business centre to see and experience ARTISTRY® products.

Nicole Baines admits that she started her Amway business with some doubts about how much she could actually achieve.

“However, as my business grew, the doubts began to disappear. All the things I’d been promised began to materialise. My trust and belief in the Amway opportunity grew to the point where I realised that whilst it was a simple business, it had the potential to deliver so much! It was when I achieved Founders Platinum that I realised there was no reason why I couldn’t make it all the way to Diamond!”

The business has proved to be a wonderful blessing for Nicole in many unexpected ways.

Since achieving Founders Emerald, Nicole’s life has changed dramatically. “Now I have an ongoing income which has provided much needed income security for our family. Not that long ago, we had trouble finding money for rent payments, but now we are looking to buy our own home for the very first time and won’t ever need to rent again,” Nicole said.

She recently treated her whole family to an all-expenses-paid $50,000 holiday, travelling across three countries and celebrating Christmas and New Year in Whistler, Canada. “It was such a wonderful and healing experience for our family to go on this holiday of a lifetime together. That holiday changed everything for our family. The kids saw a very different way of living which piqued their curiosity about the business.”

“My kids have seen my physical and financial health improve, they’ve watched as I’ve been surrounded by people who care about me and who want me to succeed. They’ve finally stopped worrying about my financial future, and all three kids have now embraced the idea that the Amway opportunity could enrich their own lives. I’m so excited about what the Amway opportunity will deliver in the future for my children and their families. It’s my legacy for the generations to come in our family,” said Nicole.

As Founders Emerald, Nicole is still focused on building strong teams but has taken on a more strategic role now that her existing teams are growing in strength.

“My time and efforts are leveraged because I’ve gathered a strong team of incredible leaders who are achieving their own dreams. I always wanted to own a business because I believed that assets can create more wealth than time-based effort. But I never thought a business such as Amway would be how my dreams would be realised.”

Nicole loves the flexibility the business offers and especially loves that she calls the shots in her life now, rather than any employer or client. “Most importantly, I’ve shown the people I love that this business works. Many of them have joined and are now building their own futures.”

What’s her advice for other IBOs? Nicole’s tips for success in the early days include learning everything about how the business works and listening to and following upline leaders who have already achieved success.

Our next goal is to become Diamond in two years and attend A70 as Double Diamond.

A steady, ongoing income and an early retirement remains a dream for many people. But thanks to their Amway business, new Emeralds Noppawat and Prapaipit can tick this important milestone off their bucket list!

While their business has certainly helped improve their lifestyle and as a result the lives of three other families have improved too – in health and wealth. It’s an added benefit of having a business that gives so much back to others.

“Being an Amway IBO is such a big responsibility because we’re in the business of helping people. We recognised this from day one and have followed it while building our business, that’s why we’ve come so far and achieved our goals,” said Noppawat.

“Along with helping others, we’ve been learning continuously and consulting our uplines when faced with challenges. We’ve taught the same things to our downlines too. We show them how to duplicate what we’ve already done,” said Prapaipit.

Noppawat and Prapaipit believe that doing the same actions daily can build big momentum in the business in the long term and keeping an eye on the main goal – your ‘why’ behind starting the business.

The couple’s business is built on a strong foundation of using and knowing the Amway products. Personally, they love Nutriway’s BodyKey for breakfast because it provides them with a nutritious start to their day. They’ve used the products successfully and advocate their teams do the same.

“Our team focuses on weight loss products, so it makes it easy to have conversations with others who also want to become healthy. When the products work and people see great results, they naturally share them with their own friends and family which makes our jobs much easier,” said the couple.

Getting to Emerald signals a huge turning point for Amway IBOs and Shawn and Piyawan are experiencing the financial benefits that come with this new Pin level.

“I’ve always dreamed of flying business class on an airline since I was a kid – and it’s coming true! We are traveling business class to Bangkok soon and then to the UK next year. We’ve also just paid for business class tickets for our parents to visit us in Sydney next year. To say we’re all excited would be an understatement!” said Piyawan.

Reaching Emerald was a long-time goal for this entrepreneurial couple and staying focused is the key to their success. “We placed our business as a top priority and managed our schedule around it. We set specific goals to show business plans or talk about products to at least 15 people a month,” said Shawn.

The couple also decided to try and sponsor

people online based on their upline’s advice.

“We were not confident that sponsoring people via online would work. After our uplines advised us to try it out, our third leg kept growing and reached 21 per cent for six months straight. Without this mindset shift, our business would’ve been different. We’re so grateful to our super uplines Punjapon and Paradee, Chris and Pam for this timely advice,” said the couple.

“I often go online to share the business, product information and sponsor people, it’s faster and quicker and is helping us expand outside of Sydney. We’re also encouraging our downlines to attend events so they stay connected to the business,” said Shawn.

“Our next goal is to become Diamond in two years and attend A70 as Double Diamond. We’ll keep improving our sponsoring techniques, marketing strategies and stay connected to our uplines to achieve this goal, ” said Piyawan.

Peter and Katrina wanted a business which would give them quality time with their family. “We needed more money but had no more hours in the day to work in our jobs, so Amway was our best chance to get an income without sacrificing family life,” said Katrina.

New Platinums Ravin and Sharomi know the value of motivating their teams to aim high. “We leverage our upline and the amazing Amway events to show our team what’s possible. Through strong work ethics and a teachable spirit, we’ve shown them that the average person is capable of building a successful business,” said Sharomi.

From the beginning, the couple have followed a strategy built around a game plan. “We focused on building both width and depth in the business with retail being a key

component. Maintaining consistent work habits and open lines of communication with our incredible mentors Hemant and Smitha Sahela has seen us achieve this milestone,” said Ravin.

With an unwavering belief in the product side of the business, the couple take every opportunity to share them with others.

“NUTRIWAY has made a significant difference to our overall health and vitality. Supreme LX is also top on my list to rejuvenate my skin,” said Sharomi.

Ravi and Charmy joined Amway as IBOs so they could regain control of their time and money. Prior to starting their business, they worked full time in corporate jobs. Realising their business could give them so much more, they quit their jobs to focus on it full time.

“Becoming a Platinum is the first significant milestone in your journey to build an Amway business. This accomplishment requires a team effort and for you to become a better version of yourself. We set about building a proper structure in our business, educating

IBOs about the products and business plan, helping new IBOs develop profitable customers using the Amway education tools and apps to get better results,” said Ravi.

“Our next goal is Founders Platinum and then Emerald and also help downline leaders go Platinum and beyond. The best reward is when you see others in your team succeed,” said Charmy.

Welcomed at the Courtyard Marriott Resort in Seminyak, our guests came together for our Welcome Dinner at Double Six Rooftop to mingle with fellow new Platinum qualifiers while taking in the amazing beach outlook.

Day 3

Team-building activities were embraced in the great outdoors with white water rafting along the Ayung River and a 15-kilometre cycling tour in Ubud. The group gathered for dinner at the beachfront property of La Lucciola, showcasing the beauty of Seminyak beach. The thatched, two-story building offers many vantage points from where the sun could be seen setting tranquilly over the water.

Day 2 The morning was spent at leisure and we got down to business in the afternoon. Qualifiers were updated on exciting business opportunities for 2020 and Executive Diamonds Wayne Tan and Joanne Looi shared their impressive story of their Amway journey.

Help where it’s needed mostWinter. ‘Tis the season to indulge in hearty helpings of comfort food and enjoy all the frivolities that go hand in hand with that time of year. But for many, the scene isn’t quite as optimistic as the cold weather approaches.

One chilly day in July 2019, Amway staff in Sydney decided to volunteer their time with OzHarvest to lend a helping hand to a few hundred people in need.

“The experience was very rewarding,” said Amway volunteer, Christine Chua.

Thanks to the enthusiastic team of slicers, dicers, pot stirrers and packers, 450 delicious warm dinners were delivered to people in need across Sydney.

In addition to the culinary efforts of the Amway team, OzHarvest gratefully accepted a $13,000 donation and a gift of superb iCook cookware.

“We are committed to helping our local

community,” Christine Terrill, General Manager of Amway said.

“Volunteering our time and donating to worthy causes is part of our DNA at Amway.”

Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, OzHarvest collects more than 180 tonnes of quality excess food each week from 3,500 food donors. More than 117 million meals have been delivered to 1300 charities around the country since their food-rescue efforts began in 2004. That’s almost 40,000 tonnes of food saved.

The hype surrounding the ‘big surprise’ of the 2019 VIVA Amway Roadshow did not disappoint. But we’ll get to that!

First, the reason for this series of fun-filled events was to celebrate our fabulous IBOs who have achieved above and beyond throughout the year. They were all recognised in a parade of pride as they took to the stage amid cheering and applause from their peers.

More than 3,000 IBOs packed out the VIVA Roadshow venues in Auckland, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Christchurch, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Wellington.

We extended our exclusive access for those who couldn’t make it on the night through our social media channels, with 21,000 of you joining in the Brisbane event via Facebook Live.

In Sydney, a collective hush fell across the crowd as the Achievers 2021 Destination was just seconds away from being announced. As the gondola was rolled out, Christine Terrill entered stage left, the ultimate Achievers journey became an almost-palpable reality for the 700 plus IBOs who attended. Europe here we come!

Makeup artist Jessica Phillips was again on hand to share her professional insights with the crowds and how to make the Bangkok Edition of ARTISTRY® products shine.

Three sessions a day, five days a week, four school terms a year. That’s the amount of time Healthy Harold and his tireless team of educators spend travelling around the regions teaching the value of making safe and healthy life choices to children of all ages.

Their ethos is much aligned with Amway’s own values when it comes to giving children the best start to life; activating and empowering our next generation to make informed, well-considered decisions when it comes to their health and wellbeing.

Amway’s $25,000 donation goes a long way for the 700,000 Australian children who benefit from Life Education’s sessions each year. Designed to connect with students using both traditional teaching and innovative technology,

the program brings the human body to life while addressing a range of health and lifestyle-related topics including the effects of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. Ageless mascot Healthy Harold is always enthusiastically received with timeless messages applicable to all walks of life.

“The kids were thrilled to be in the van learning about nutrition, exercise and healthy living and how it affects their body,” Life Education Educator of five years, Natassja Wyhe explained after a session with year 3/4 composite class at The Meadows Primary School in Seven Hills, Sydney.”

“Never are two days the same in the Life Education van. One day you could be teaching kindy about friends and the next day it could be teaching year 6 about drugs. I’m part of making a difference. It’s the best feeling!”

Life Education NSW CEO Jonathon Peatfield said that while a lot has changed over the past few decades, their vision remains as strong as ever.

“After 40 years in the community we continue to realise our vision, which is to ensure our young people can confidently face the increasingly tough challenges they encounter throughout life,” he said.

“Our program remains at the core of our work and this wouldn’t exist without the support of our partners, like Amway, which have helped us to keep up the work we do around the country and in the communities that need it most.”
