CONNECTGrowing smiles, mending spirits, engaging children in their lives
Welcome to the first edition of Connect. It is our privilege to serve your
children and all of you. You give us the opportunity to be a part of your
schools learning, inspiration and laughter! Thank you. In this newsletter,we want to bring back to you what you share with us. Our goal is that it
will be a place to learn, to be inspired and to laugh. We will bring forth
ideas to help a child become a confident communicator, stories to
bring smiles to your faces and knowledge to continue the cycle of
learning. Together we will grow a smile, mend a spirit and engage a
child in their life.
In each edition you will find common headings including Todays Topic,
Whats Up?, Around the Water Cooler and more.
This section will generally focus on speech and language informationthat is relevant to you and the children in your school. Todays Topic is:
Communication. Wikipedia defines communication as: transferring
information from one entity to another. And yet when we are
communicating with each other, it is not a simple transaction. It is a
conversation. We are sharing our thoughts, ideas, dreams, fears and
oys! With or without words, communication is the way in which we
connect. Facial expressions, gestures, sign language, words and even
technology, are ways in which we can communicate. As we begin this
school year, let us connect to each other. Let us help a child learn to
communicate their ideas, thoughts, dreams, fears and joys in whatever
way possible. Let us feel the power of communication.
