DESCRIPTION
Global Learning for Educators webinars are offered free twice monthly, September 2012 - May 2013. Please visit http://asiasociety.org/webinars for details and registration. Learn how two campuses, Michigan State University and Kent State University, are internationalizing their teacher preparation programs. In order to prepare new teachers to add a global perspective to their classrooms in Ohio, Kent State University has partnered with Miami University, and the University of Akron to create and manage the two-year Global Learning Scholars fellows program and have co-developed Teacher Education Goes Global (http://teacheredgoesglobal.org) that supports the internationalization of coursework at the three universities. The College of Education at Michigan State has developed specialized teacher preparation program, the Global Educators Cohort Program (GECP), focused on incorporating global and international perspectives into teacher content and pedagogical practices. Global Initiative Forum for Future Teachers
The Global Initiative Forum for Future Teachers (GIFT) is a forum established to help pre-service teachers and/or people who are interested in becoming global educators by creating a global community at Michigan State University where they can interact and share experiences through informal learning. GIFT is an opportunity for future educators to gain a global perspective in a diverse and changing world.
