How do we make this work? Current discussions are that a board member from each micro- chapter area is responsible for oversight of the micro-chapter. Each micro-chapter commiee would be comprised of individuals from the micro-chapter area. The micro-chapter commiee would be re- sponsible to plan & host local acvies. The local commiee would have support from the chapter and chapter commiees to assist with planning, content and publicity. We would love to have your involvement! President’s Message

WOW, can you believe winter of 2018 is almost over!!!

I do not know about you, but I am sure ready for spring. I think it is a good time to update everyone on what your Board has been working on. We have begun a journey to take an introspective look at the chapter and how do we improve engagement. As we all know our geographical area is im-mense. This makes scheduling and attending events a challenge at best and impossible for some.

This year the chapter is beginning an effort to host local events in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Kala-mazoo regions. These events are primarily networking events allowing our members to congregate, network, and enjoy some comradery with fellow colleagues. We have been successful in some areas and less so in others. Of the events we’ve had, the response has been primarily very positive.

We think as the word spreads about these events they will attract more attendance making them even more valuable for everyone. Building on this idea the Board is investigating the concept of “micro” chapters. The micro-chapter idea is simply that each major area will plan and host local events. This provides the local area members more control over activities where travel will not be required. This should result in events that are easier to attend and more focused on local interests.

How do we make this work? Current discussions are that a board member from each micro- chapter area is responsible for oversight of the micro-chapter. Each micro-chapter committee would be comprised of individuals from the micro-chapter area. The micro-chapter committee would be re-sponsible to plan & host local activities. The local committee would have support from the chapter and chapter committees to assist with planning, content and publicity.

We would love to have your involvement! Get involved and enjoy the fun of the GL ISPE Chapter! Feel free to contact me directly at my email below. We have some wonderful activities planned for 2018!!!!
