As Interfaith Ministers, it is natural for us to approach spirituality from an Interfaith perspective. That means that our approach is inclusive, celebrating all traditions and diverse approaches. When we look at the beautiful, diverse world that God has created for us to live in, it is clear to us that God is a God of Diversity. There is not just one type of tree, or one type of bird, or one type of flower, or one type of person. The world is populated with a multitude of forms including trees, birds, flowers and people in all OIIM Ministerial Team: shapes, sizes and colour. This diversity makes the world more beautiful. From then on the Fleur-de-Lys was seen as a sign of Divine favour bestowed on the French, and was worn by all the

kings of France. Even the Empero r Napo leon was associated with the Fleur-de-Lys, and in paintings of his coronation you can make out its delicate golden flowers woven into the rich red of his velvet robe.

The Fleur-de-Lys is one of the oldest symbols in history dating back as f a r a s anc ien t Mesopotamia, Egypt and ancient Japan. Its survival is confirmation of its enormous power... Even the Italian city of Florence took its name from the Fleur-de-Lys. But in truth many people are drawn to its simple and

yet profound power without even knowing anything of its fascinating history, both in our world and the world of Myth. Now it's your turn to draw on the wealth and courage of all the centuries past as well as our present. The Gift of Hope is Yours

In life there are two types of personal energy. One can deplete your spiritual energy and allow it’s negativity to spiral down into the lower vibrations of deep depression, suicidal thoughts, or violence. The other invokes spiritual energy, spiralling upward, creating a higher vibration of positive, self-affirming thoughts and actions. The first step towards hope is a leap of faith into that positive energy. Here are the ABC’s of nurturing that hope:

Hello Everyone - The long evenings of winter are creeping upon us and no better time to spend some time on ourselves with a journey of self discovery. I am going to try a new type of meditation evening for the next seven months, which will bring us to the warm months of summer. We will take a step-by-step progression through the seven chakras which are our energy centres. Through exercises and guided meditations we will remove blockages and clear the psychological, emotional and spiritual debris that can trap us in habits that have worn out their usefulness.

I will draw from many venues, however I will base a lot of exercises on data written by trained psychiatrist Brenda Davies, M.D. We will be starting with the root chakra on Wednesday evening and will go through the seven main chakras in the upcoming months. So again, it will be the 2nd Wednesday of the month, at 7:00 pm. The cost remains at $5.00 and the evening always follows with tea and coffee and hopefully with discussion, where we can support each other on this unique journey we all experience as life. I hope all who are interested will be able to join in. I do ask that you let me know if you are able to attend. Blessings to all, Deb - 2879 Forest Rd., Stratford ON - 519-271-6302

Saint John Project

OIIM Outreach - Saint John Interfaith Centre

These are some before shots (bottom 2 on right) of the new Saint John Interfaith Centre. The Centre

will be housed on the second floor which has a beautiful, sun filled, 37" by 14" room - perfect in which to do spiritual programming. Lay Minister Nancy, as part of her Community Building and Outreach Internship, did up the designs for the Centre. At the top right is one shot of her designs. At the bottom left is a shot of the almost finished Centre. We entrusted the contract for this project to Michael Franceour (Lay Minister Nancy’s husband and spiritual partner on this Interfaith Journey) who is doing a fabulous job. He thinks it through and does things with integrity. We know the Centre construction and its infusion of energy is in good hands so that the future congregants will be served well. Rev. Sandi and Rev. Barry will be in Saint John one week a month to do Spiritual Readings, Workshops and a monthly Service. We hope to be ready for Feb. 7-13, March 7-13 and April 12-17.

With a team like Nancy and Mike in Shediac, Rev. Susan and Margaret here in PEI, Debra Lynn in Stratford ON & Ellen in Kingston, ON we feel blessed to have attracted souls with such commit-ment to the Interfaith Movement.
