How to Connect to CatChat GSU’s Wireless Network on or around GSU Campus

1. Right click on the wireless connection icon in the system tray (located next to the clock on your desktop).

(Note: You may need to disable the Intel wireless network adapter to allow Windows to manage the wireless Wi-Fi, depending on what your laptop is running. Please follow the next few steps [1a-1c], otherwise, go to #2.)

1a. Right click on Intel Wireless Adapter icon

1b. Select Use Windows to manage Wi-Fi

1c. Click YES to allow windows to manage Wi-Fi.

2. Click on View Available Wireless Networks

3. Click on CatChat

4. Click connect.

5. You may receive a message that says: You are connecting to the unsecured network CatChat. Click “Connect Anyway.”

6. You should see the word “connected” next to the CatChat network. This indicates you are connected to GSU’s network.

7. If connection is successful, you’ll see the following window pop up with message indicating you are connected to: CatChat(unsecured)

8. To surf the internet, double click on Internet Explorer (This will bring you to the GSU Authenticated Network Access Page).

9. Students need to use their Student ID and Password to login. Faculty, Staff and Affiliates use their Novell User ID and Password to login.

10. Once your username and password are accepted, you will be prompted to have IE remember your password; say NO!

11. To have a more secure connection, you must connect to the VPN client.
