Connecting to Rosetta Stone Information Technology Services

Connection & Installation

1. Open a web browser and go to http://my.carrollu.edu. 2. Enter your Carroll username and password. 3. Click on the Student tab or Employee tab. 4. Click on the Rosetta Stone icon ( ).

Note: Rosetta Stone will open in a separate window or browser tab.

5. Click Launch Rosetta Stone. Note: The language that Rosetta Stone is viewed in can be changed by using the box on the top, right-hand side of the page

Note: Some computers may require software updates to work with Rosetta Stone:

a. For university owned computers - contact the ITS Help Desk (x7229 or [email protected]). b. If you are using your home computer, follow the installation instructions in the yellow box & then click "Check My

System Again".

7. Once your computer passes the system check, the following box will appear. Select the appropriate gender and age to help Rosetta Stone prepare for the appropriate vocal ranges then click "OK".

8. Please select the desired language and level then click "Continue".

9. Select the desired course then click "Apply Changes".

10. Once the course has loaded, click "Start" to begin.

Microphone Configuration

1. Select the microphone that you would like to use from the list of available microphones. If you have not already plugged in your microphone, please do so and click "Refresh List."

2. Once the microphone has been selected, click "Continue".

Note: If you are using a university computer and do not have a microphone already installed, please contact the ITS Help Desk (x7229 or [email protected]).

3. Follow the instructions to set up your microphone.

Ending a Session

1. When you are done using Rosetta Stone, click "Sign Out" in the upper right-hand corner of the window. 2. Click "Yes" and Rosetta Stone will close.

After closing the Rosetta Stone application, you will be at the Rosetta Stone main page.

1. Click "Log out" on the left panel to end your Rosetta Stone session. 2. Click the X in the upper right-hand corner to close your browser.
