69th annual International Air Safety Summit

WELCOME

As-salamu alaykum.

Welcome to the spectacular city of Dubai and the 69th annual International Air Safety Summit (IASS). We are glad you are here.

I want to thank all of the people who worked so hard over so many months to organize IASS. Their efforts are reflected in a thought-provoking program that is keenly focused on the industry’s most pressing safety questions, concerns and trends, and yet allows time for networking and even a little socializing.

I want to extend a special thanks to everyone at Emirates, our gracious host, for their all of their efforts and guidance on so many fronts. It has been a pleasure working with you. I’d also like to thank all of our sponsors and exhibitors for their support, and all of our attendees for taking time from their busy schedules to be with us over the next three days.

Again, welcome to Dubai and IASS. I know you will find your time here both professionally enriching and personally enjoyable.

Regards,

Jon BeattyPresident and CEOFlight Safety Foundation

Dear Delegates,

Welcome to IASS 2016 and to our home city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Salam Alaikum.

I am delighted that Emirates is hosting this event on behalf of the Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) this year. We enjoy a very close working relationship with the Foundation, and many of our senior team members have sat on the Board and Committees throughout the years.

It’s been a pleasure working with the FSF team to organize this important safety event. The conference theme is ‘Safety … our first and final approach’. This was chosen because we know that safety is at the heart of everything aviation professionals do.

I hope that you leave the conference feeling inspired, and even more invigorated to promote safety to the fullest when you return home.

Maa al salama.

Emirates is the world’s largest international airline, serving 150 cities in 80 countries from its hub in Dubai. Last year, the airline carried over 50 million passengers on more than 186,000 flights, traveling more than 824 million kilometers around the globe, or the equivalent of 1,000 trips to the moon and back.

Presage Group Inc Booth # 8

Contact person: Mr. Martin Smith Founder/PresidentContact email: [email protected]

Presage Group Inc. (“Presage”) offers the next generation of psychoso-cial assessment and predictive analytics tools designed to target human decision-making in the moment. The Presage solution looks at people — the core of enterprise behavioral risk management. We find: who is at risk, why they are at risk, and what you need to do to keep them safe and compliant. Our custom surveys collect data on nine behavioral/psy-chosocial factors driving non-compliance; our Insights Portal translates that data into clear-as-day representations of the current state and culture of safety; and, our diverse team of professionals offers mitiga-tion strategies that build a culture of safety over time.

Presage was the solution when the Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) needed insight on the #1 threat to the industry, namely approach and landing accidents, and to answer: “Why are only 3% of the global

commercial airline pilot population compliant to their company’s Go-Around policy?” It’s been our privilege to support the FSF in un-derstanding the “why” and in shaping new recommendations for the industry to mitigate this risk using robust science and valid statistical processes while ensuring participant anonymity and confidentiality.

Our solution is a “Game Changer” in understanding the psychology of non-compliance. Our business is about identifying the decision-making threats to safety before they happen, reducing the frequency, severity, and costs of events. The strength of our approach has been validated by the global insurance underwriter community who nowfund Presage initiatives with their aviation customers. Because Safety is an integrated component of business performance the Presage solution, that targets human decision making, also has a profound positive impact on the overall business culture and results. After all, business is really about PEOPLE and we help you see them differently.
