    Students Competition was co-organised by

    Indian Heritage

    Cities Network (IHCN) and UNESCO New Delhi

    and supported by Maharana of Mewar CharitableFoundation, Udaipur. The Entries were exhibited at

    Infosys Campus, in Pune from 20-22 November2013, along with the Fourth Biennial Conference.

    The theme for the Competition was Heritage-based

    Urban Development: How can living heritage contribute

    to people?

    where Posters designed by them were selected for Exhibition Display. The Conference was held at

    Chandigarh, from 03-04 October 2013.

    Part B. Designing a Residential apartment in the HeritagePrecinct of Nageshwar.

    Aim: The studio project aims at stimulating a standard of design whendevelopment takes place in historically sensitive contexts.

    Objectives:a) Studying the 'context' through various aspects like historical evolution of the

    area, socio-economic parameters of the heritage today.

    b) Analysis of the area and issues as well in order to identify the needs in citycontext and local as well.

    c) Defining the design problem in response to the studies done earlier.

    d) Proposals for the suggested design problem giving justice to the historic

    context.
