ACTIVITY REPORT

1. Sankalp helped MN Centre Student, Bajrang, who scored 83% in Class12th Exam

with Rs. 20000 to take admission in coaching for entrance to ISI

2. Saurabh Mishra, a third year Sankalp Volunteer made a wonderful video on Sankalp

and made it available on Sankalp’s YouTube channel. The video can be accessed

3. Regular DPP Tests are conducted at both the Navodaya Centres. Students scoring

appreciable marks will be shortlisted for final batch on 1st October

4. President is taking Hindi Classes at both the Navodaya Centres and the syllabus is

likely to be completed by September end

5. Enlightening Hands, a Pune based students’ volunteer group with its team in

Jamshedpur approached Sankalp to allow its volunteers to take academic sessions at

NIT and Ikchapur Centre.

6. A new teacher has been recruited at Sankalp Vidyalaya to adhere to education norms.

Empower Kids Foundation will sponsor the salary of the new teacher

7. Sankalp’s Facebook post are also getting replicated on Twitter handle which will be

handled by third year volunteers

8. Plantation Drive was organized by the tiny tots at Sankalp Vidyalaya. Children

planted plants within the boundaries of the school under the guidance of Lalit Ji

9. PwC Team which visited our Mohan Nagar and NIT Centre for their donation drive in

August uploaded the pictures of the event on their corporate website

10. Weekly Reports are sent by teachers of all the 4 centres of Giridih.

11. Shrey Club, a local club at Giridih organized Health Camp at Birhor Centre of

Giridih. Children were given free dental advice and free medicines were given with

the support of Kavita Medicals. A total of 97 children got their health check up done

12. A creative session of sketching and drawing was organized at Aashiyana Centre and

the winners were awarded

13. Academic Results of all the students who passed class 10th examination with flying

colours from Telco Centre has been carved on a wooden plank board and pasted at the

centre to inspire children.

14. A quiz competition on Maths, Hindi Grammar, GK was held between girls and boys

at the Telco centre in which Girls emerged as the proud winner

15. Financial Support was given for the uniform and other necessary items for students of

Sankalp Vidyalaya

16. All the students who passed class 10th in Fy19 from Telco Centre were rewarded by

the President. The award was to encourage the achievers and keep their motivation

high for their future

17. Question Papers for conducting the Common Test for August month was sent across

all the centres.

18. Team from Jamshedpur Film Festival interviewed President and made a documentary

highlighting the complete growth and success of Sankalp. The film would be made

public during the upcoming Film Festival of Jamshedpur

19. Independence Day was celebrated with full vigour and patriotic enthusiasm across all

the centre. The most notable events of the day were anchoring in English by Imli

Chauk Centre students.

20. Classes for Navodaya Entrance Test Preparation are running in full swing at Dhanbad

Centre. Regular Tests are held and marks are shared over whatsapp group

21. Students from our Birhor Centre, Giridih participated in the dance competition

organized by the District Education Department

22. Sankalp team received a complaint by few girls at NIT Centre that senior boys are

using abusive language during the classes. Volunteers of the centre called all the

students for special activity in which they taught: - “

a. Why we should not use abusive language?

b. Mental impact on girls because of such cases

c. How the life of a student gets disturbed by making fun in the friend circle

The session left a deep impact and till date no such complaint has been

received again

23. Sankalp applied for Aarohan Innovation Award of Infosys Foundation & Mahatma

Awards by the Ministry of Social Justice

24. Mayank, a 2k12 batch volunteer distributed sweets among the students on his birthday

at Dhanbad Centre.

25. Akash, a 2k15 batch volunteer distributed sweets and copies on his birthday at Adarsh

Bhawan, Ikchapur & Imli Chauk Centre.

26. Monthly interaction led by President took place with the Team and special mention

was made to the tireless efforts which the volunteers are making for making the

different activities successful

1.Both Sankalp-A pledge to change and Sankalp Volunteers group FB page

noted huge hike in likes and membership over the month

2. Sankalp saw a huge rise in daily requests for addition to its FB Page of

Sankalp Volunteers Group.
