Welcome to CLIC 2016 in Toronto.

On behalf of the University of Toronto and the Wilson Centre for Research in Education we wish to welcome you to Toronto for the CLIC 2016 conference, “A gathering of the LIC community to celebrate diversity, advocacy and complexity.” Together with the local, scientific and international planning committees we have designed a program that we hope will promote the sharing of best practices, advance the research agenda for LICs and enhance collaborative problem solving. As a school, we are new to the LIC landscape, having just launched our program in 2014. We look forward to forging new relationships, and learning from and inspiring one another.

We hope you will enjoy visiting one of the most diverse cities in Canada, hit the pavement for the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, visit some of our distinct neighborhoods, eat some multi-cultural food and perhaps catch a glimpse of our Blue Jays in the playoffs. We are proud to showcase both our St. George Campus and our newer satellite campus in the city of Mississauga. We anticipate enjoying the Fall foliage and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection as we take the conference on the move and visit the village of Kleinburg, Ontario.

We look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,

Patricia Houston MD MEd FRCPC Stacey Bernstein MD FRCPC Vice-Dean, MD Program Clerkship Director Professor of Anesthesia Associate Professor of Pediatrics University of Toronto University of Toronto
