I don’t claim to know everything; I just claim to know that Jesus Christ is LORD! I’ve gone from church to church for years; I’ve been hot, cold, and lukewarm, on the fence, off the fence…...all in one years’ time!

During that time, I had the opportunity to meet some great people and the one thing they had that I wanted so desperately was a relationship with GOD and peace of mind.

As time passed, I learned it’s not about a certain church, ministry, “new idea”, the latest gospel song, the latest Christian book or the most popular new preacher. It’s about the GOSPEL! The good news!

Once I realized this, I was able to view church as a place of fellowship and direction or Headquarters! Now let me bring balance to that last statement, I’m not saying this is “THE” definition of Church, it’s MY definition of Church and believe me, my previous outlook on church was just plan unrealistic.

I expected too much from the members and the pastor. I didn’t realize that I was responsible for my own spiritual growth; it’s not the pastor’s job to sit us down and go over the bible with us word for word like our teachers did when we were in elementary school.

I remember listening to a message by a pastor, he spoke about how we try to survive off one serving of food a week, sometimes two (bible study or mid-week service).

I had a dream one night; the weird part about this dream is it wasn’t something that even related to me. I dreamed I was the president of the United States.

I wasn’t different in any way, shape or form, my credit was still bad, my apartment was still cluttered, I didn’t have anything to wear, I still needed to work out and eat healthy. There was nothing going on in my life that even slightly suggested that I was qualified to run a country, yet I found myself in a position I knew nothing about and couldn’t remember how I got there.

At the time I was working two at home jobs, volunteering at church, my youngest children were 3 and 7 years (and they were sick every other week!), My marriage was going through a rocky period and I had just started bible college.

I was over extended, I was exhausted, I was irritable, I could never find any time to work out or eat healthy, my house went from clean/to chaotic/to clean/to chaotic. The roller coaster was insane!

The meaning of that dream came to me instantly; it came to me so fast that I knew I had to make a change that day.

I was getting up at 5am to do my quiet time, work my second job, write a book, update my website, send out a morning email, etc…

I was on the right path, but everything around me was suffering while I was doing it.

If you don’t get anything else from this journal, I pray that you learn to hear from GOD and get off the roller coaster of life.

My sons Jermaine and Elijah love basketball, when Jermaine was little, I use to yell on the sideline for him to take his time!! I’d yell for him to not let them rush him back down the court.

Don’t allow the world to rush you through life, over extended and over worked; with no time for family or self! Don’t allow unforgiveness or offense to separate you from GOD.

Constant renewal is not a journey I have taken, it’s a journey I’m still on and will be on for the rest of my life. I invite you to join me and constantly renew your life with Christ every day.
