A: ODOT will accept a person certified in an erosion and sediment control program that has been approved by DEQ. Found on page 12 of the DEQ 1200-C Permit.

Q: 00280.30 - What does “……or who has successfully completed an erosion control training that is acceptable to the Engineer” mean?

A: DEQ has approved the following programs per their 1200-C Permit:

(a) Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control,

(b) Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality,

(c) Washington State Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead, or

(d) Rogue Valley Sewer Services Erosion and Sediment Control Certification.

Q: If ODOT will accept a Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector certification from one of the four DEQ approved programs through the 1200-C permit, will an ODOT ESCM certification cover a municipality project that is under a 1200-C permit.

A: No. The ODOT ESCM certification is only valid for the Agency’s NPDES 1200-CA Permitted Projects.
