Local Points of Interest: Whale Shark Tour | 60 minutes

Every summer, the warm waters of Isla Mujeres and the Caribbean Sea receive a special guest: the Whale Shark.

These marine giants arrive in the Yucatan Peninsula, rich in nutrients and the ideal place to feed. However, this

phenomenon doesn’t occur throughout the entire year – sighting season is May through late August. Tour leaves

from Isla Mujeres, goes into open waters and may take up to five hours.

MUSA Cancun Underwater Museum of Art | 5 minutes / 2 miles

This museum aims to demonstrate the interaction between art and environmental science and form part of a

complex reef structure for marine life. All of the sculptures are fixed to the seabed and made from specialized

materials used to promote coral life. It offers guests the chance to snorkel or scuba dive up close with some of the

Caribbean’s most amazing creatures.


Turtle Farm | 2 minutes / 1 mile

The turtle farm protects sea turtles that come every year and lay their eggs on the Isla Mujeres shores. After

hatching, a portion of the population is placed in ponds for protection while others are released into the sea to

continue their natural cycle. The farm plays an important role in the study and conservation of these animals

Punta Sur, Ixchel Mayan temple | 7 minutes / 3 miles

Known as the wife of the Sun, Ixchel is considered a fertility and love goddess with great healing powers. Even

though time and weather have impacted the temple, it remains as a fascinating example of Pre-Columbian

structures with amazing views of the Caribbean Sea.

Park of Sculptures | 7 minutes / 3 miles

Located on the southernmost tip of the island where the sun rises. It was designated as a permanent open-air

museum. More than 23 artists from Mexico and around the world created the pieces in 2001. Famous sculptors

used modern shapes and bright hues to interpret the spirit of the Mayan civilization.

Hacienda Mundaca | 9 minutes / 2 miles

This hacienda dates back to 1860 when its creator, the pirate Fermin Mundaca Marechaga, took refuge in Isla

Mujeres after facing the British Army and found inspiration from the love of a native woman. Discover the lifestyle

of the time and the legend of a great love.

Garrafon Natural Reef Park | 4 minutes / 2 miles

Garrafon is a gorgeous natural park highlighted by reefs, cliffs and beautiful ocean landscapes that captivate your

senses. Kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, biking and flying over the turquoise waters on a zip line is available at the park.

Sleeping Shark Cove | 9 minutes / 4 miles

This is a popular diving destination which has baffled marine biologists everywhere. Sharks must constantly be in

motion in order to breathe through their skins, but in this cave, sharks can use bubbles from underwater springs to

breathe, allowing them to “sleep” completely still. The cave allows divers to get close to the resting sharks. Nurse

sharks are most commonly seen in the cave and, although they are harmless, it is exhilarating to be able to swim so

close to them.

North Beach | 10 minutes / 4 miles

Located on the island’s northern region, less than a mile from the downtown area. At this beach you can rent all

the equipment you’ll need for windsurfing.

Arrecife Manchones | 10 minutes / 5 miles

A coral bank that stretches for 7 miles and 2,320 feet wide. Guests can dive while observing a great variety of

marine flora and fauna.

Cancun Hotel Zone | 25 minutes / 5 miles

Zoëtry Villa Rolandi’s policy allows dogs under 22 lbs. (10kgs) for $75 USD per night, in specific room categories only.

Please check with your airline for information regarding traveling with pets, including security and TSA

guidelines.

Required upon check-in:

o Dog’s name, weight, age, color, and breed for identification purposes during their stay

o Vaccination certificate from veterinarian proving Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations within the past 12 months

o Evidence that a current treatment for fleas and ticks is in use

No more than one dog is permitted in any guest room. Dog is allowed only on designated dog area(s) of the hotel

grounds. Dogs are not allowed in the Pool, Fitness Center, Spa, Retail shops, and Golf facilities

Due to local regulations, dogs are not allowed on the beach.

Dog must be on a controlled leash at all times or in a dog carrier when not in the guest room. Guests are responsible for

cleaning up after the dog on resort grounds and properly disposing waste in designated areas.

Bike Tour to the Temple of Ixchel - Upon landing on the island, the Spanish decided to call it Isla Mujeres

(Island of Woman) after the many carvings of woman found. These carvings were idols to Ixchel, the Mayan

Goddess of the Moon and childbirth. Zoëtry Villa Rolandi offers a tour to the Temple of Ixchel and some of

the best cliff views on the southern part of the island. Tour is approximately 1 hours and 30 minutes. Must book with concierge in advance. Subject to weather conditions.

Turtle Farm - Guests can take a short hike to Isla Mujeres’ turtle farm ½ mile from the resort. The turtle

farm is a sanctuary for the endangered sea turtles and also is home to other types of sea life like seahorses,

fish and small sharks. Entrance fee is $3 and tours are available year-round. Guests can also participate in

Deluxe Yacht Services The resort uniquely offers complimentary, year-round yacht transportation for hotel guests on arrival and departure

days from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (subject to weather conditions). The yacht is a private, 40-foot lounge boat named

“Cocoon IV” with capacity for 13 passengers.

NOTE: The meeting point is at the dock at Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort located in the

gated community of Puerta del Mar.


For guests needing transportation for a late arrival or early departure outside of our regular yacht operating hours (or

from 10:31 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.), there are two alternatives.

“Cocoon” Yacht (private service) - A surcharge of USD $100.00 applies for a one-way trip between the resort

and the dock at Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort from 10:31 p.m. and 5:59 a.m., and a minimum of 24

hours’ notice is required to guarantee this service.

Board the public ferry, Ultramar – Guests may travel by ferry from Cancun to Isla Mujeres between 5:00 a.m.

and 11:30 p.m. and from Isla Mujeres to Cancun between 5:30 a.m. and midnight. Average cost per passenger is

USD $8.00. Ultramar ferry is the alternative in case Zoëtry Villa Rolandi’s yacht is not allowed to sail due to weather

conditions or the closure of the port for small vessels.

Front desk will contact your DMC to drop off guests at Ultramar pier in Puerto Juarez, where a Zoëtry representative

will accompany guests. For Yacht transfer arrangements, guests must contact: [email protected]

or [email protected] with arrival/departure flight information.

Guests arriving at Zoëtry Villa Rolandi via their own yacht or boat may dock their vessel at Zoëtry Villa Rolandi’s

private dock free of charge.
