I completed the Orientation for the LEAD – USA Learns Distance Learning Program. Here are the skills I learned so I may participate:

How to Begin the Lesson
1. Connect to the Internet.

4. Fill in the form. Use the same information as at the orientation.
5. Look for your course number.
6. Do all the activities in Unit 1.

7. Click to see your scores or change to a different activity.
Blue boxes mean you completed the activity.
Blue and white boxes show where to study next.
80% or more is good! ClickGo to the next activity.
If you get less than 80%, click Do the activity again. You can repeat until you get a score above 80%. You are welcome to contact your coach for help.

How to Do the Activities
“Say it” Activity – If you can’t record, listen and repeat to yourself.

3. Click to check your dictation. You will see your mistakes in red.

4. Replace the red letters with the correct ones and check again.
5. If you still have mistakes, you will see the correct sentence.
6. Copy that sentence on the lines.

1. Read the questions to help you think and prepare to write.2. Type your answer in the white box.

Writing Corrections
After you complete a Write about it activity, your teacher will check it and send you a message in the course.
1. The next time you return to the course, check you’re my Home page to find Messages.
You will see a page with messages.

3. Look under Title and click the link.
4. Read your teacher’s message. If you need to make corrections, write them on paper or in a document.
After your teacher checks your work, you will find a message from the teacher on the My Home page. Review page 12 for instructions on how to find her message.

5. Click Write about it! to go to the activity and make your corrections.
6. Click in the white box and correct your work.
7. Click Done to save your work.
8. You will see a message that your changes were saved.
