Double Page Spread – Plan

No eye contact. Hoodie/jack unzipped to show more vibrant t-shirt. Busy background showing appropriate electronics. No eye contact + posed, looks like the person is deep in thought. Portrait shot. Medium shot from eye-level.

Double Page Spread- Actual

Decided to go for a slightly lower than eye-level angle; artist fills the height of the page and gives an element of status. Busy shot, appropriate electronics in the back, speakers + rack etc. Posed shot, artist looks deep in thought. No eye-contact, though artist definitely has his attention somewhere, looks ‘deep’. Hoodie unzipped suggests he’s in his comfort zone – readers can feel comfortable if the model looks comfortable.

Main Rejected ImagesToo blurry

Inconsistent clutter, lens spots

Doesn’t look as good as when he avoids eye contact with cameraImage not

clear enough. Facial expression too uncertain

Would have been good as dp photo rather than cover as intended, due to the fact it shows his character and personality – caught mid-action. But other photo worked better.
