REGISTRATION

The competitiveness of manufacturing sector depends upon the advancements in materials technologies. The

current trend of miniaturization, the emergence of advance materials and the growing demand of customized

manufacturing is proving catalytic in bringing a major transformation in the areas of manufacturing and

material processing. In fact, it has acquired a center-stage in the whole gamut of production engineering

research.

Various material processing technologies such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, surface engineering,

modern machining, joining, and forming etc. are seeing rapid changes to synchronize to the advent of newer

materials. Research communities all over the globe are venturing on newer experimentations leading to

further push to these areas. The proposed ‘Short Term Course’ intends to enhance the awareness level of the

young research community of this area through a three stage strategy:

In general, the course would facilitate scaling‐up of postgraduate education and demand‐driven Research

& Development.

Specifically, the course would motivate participants towards pursuing the research in the cognate areas of

nanotechnology, biotechnology, surface engineering, modern machining, joining, and forming etc.

Indirectly, the course also intends to reinforce the teaching of the focused areas of STC among the

participating faculty members.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Course intends to cover different aspects of material engineering such as:

Contemporary material trends

Material Fabrications

Material Processing

Material Testing and Characterization

Futuristic Materials and scope
