Inspection Skills is a food-safety linked qualification which is

Description: The aim of this regulated qualification is to provide

The regulated qualification is designed
for people who work, or intend to work in
food or drink production. In addition to the
fundamentals of food safety, candidates will
gain an appreciation of the specific types of
hazards, controls and monitoring associated
with food manufacture.
This qualification has been designed to
address the differences between catering and
manufacturing environments, and will ensure
staff are compliant with the requirement for
businesses to train food handlers to levels
commensurate with their work activities.
This Ofqual-approved qualification has been
developed specifically for insertion onto the
Qualifications and Credit Framework, with
full support from Improve, the Sector Skills
Council for the food and drink manufacturing
industry in the UK. It is therefore fully compliant
with industry and regulatory standards, as
well as being recognised by environmental
health practitioners, auditors and third party
customers who require the manufacturer to
demonstrate that they have trained staff to a
recognised level.
Description: The aim of this regulated qualification is to
provide individuals with knowledge of the basic
food safety practices which are essential in a
retail environment. The hazards and controls
in this type of environment differ from those
found in catering, but are no less important.
The qualification is designed principally for
those who work in, or intend to work in, a retail
environment where both packaged and/or
open foods are available. It is also appropriate
for people providing a service, for example
delivery drivers and home delivery employees.
Achievement of this qualification will enable
learners to identify how to make changes to
practices, in order to maintain and improve the
safety of food for the final consumer.
This Ofqual-approved qualification has been
developed specifically for insertion into the
Qualifications and Credit Framework, with full
support from Skillsmart Retail, the Sector Skills
Council for Retail. It is therefore fully compliant
with industry and regulatory standards, as well
as being recognised by environmental health
practitioners, auditors and other enforcement
officers.
Description: This accredited qualification is ideal for those
already working or preparing to work within
industry wishing to become an Emergency
First Aider in the workplace for the purposes
of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations
1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid)
Regulations (NI) 1982.
The recommended course duration is 1 day
and topics covered include: the roles and
responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider,
assessing an incident, recognising signs and
symptoms of injury and illness and assisting
a casualty who is suffering from injury and
illness. The qualification is assessed via on-
going oral and/or written questioning and
practical demonstration.
The minimum contact hours for this
qualification, excluding breaks should be for a
minimum period of 6 hours over 1 day.
All successful students will be issued with an
Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, along
with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their

First Aid- Train the trainer
Description: This accredited qualification provides
theoretical and practical training in First Aid
techniques that are specific to infants aged 0
to 1, and children aged from 1 year old to the
onset of puberty. Learners will become familiar
with the role of the paediatric first aider and
be able to assess and react appropriately to
an emergency situation, such as a child or
an infant who is unresponsive, has an airway
obstruction or is suffering from shock.:
Topics also included are wounds, fractures,
dislocations, injuries to the head, neck, back,
eyes, ears or nose, poisoning, bites or stings
and electric shock.
This qualification consists of two units and
is provided over a period of 2 days with a
minimum contact time of 6 hours per unit.
The Statutory Framework for the Early Years
Foundation Stage is a document published
by The Department for Children, Schools and
Families and applies to Early Years childcare
within England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Statutory Framework states that ‘at least
one person who has a current paediatric first
aid certificate must be on the premises at all
times when children are present. There must
be at least one person on outings who has
a current paediatric first aid certificate.’ The
HABC Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid is
recognised as a qualification that fulfils this
need.
All successful students will be issued with a
Paediatric First Aid certificate.
Description: This regulated qualification is suitable for
learners wishing to improve their knowledge of
the importance of customer service including
how to satisfy customers’ expectations. It has
been designed for delivery to all learners
working or preparing to work in a customer
service role and is applicable to a variety of
work environments.
Description: This qualification is designed for learners
who train others. The main focus of this
qualification is on excellence in delivery and
the effective use of interactive visual aids to
inspire and motivate learners. Trainers will be
provided with professional and effective skills
to use within the classroom. This qualification is
suitable for both experienced and new trainers
who wish to improve their performance and
obtain a training qualification which will enable
them to deliver Highfield qualifications.
Description: This qualification provides learners with the
