The Bishop Strachan School, Canada‟s oldest day and boarding

school for girls, is renowned for its expertise in the particular

learning needs of girls and offers a single-gender environment

that helps its students achieve their best, both academically and

in their life‟s pursuits.

A rigorous academic curriculum coupled with a creative, nur-

turing, and expressive approach to education makes BSS an

environment specifically developed to bring out the very best in

each of its students. In the Senior School, the Advanced Place-

ment program is offered as part of our enriched curriculum.

One hundred percent of graduating students achieve university

admission, and a large number are offered places at prestigious

universities in the United States, including: Harvard, MIT,

Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Cornell

and Georgetown; as well as the United Kingdom, including:

Edinburgh, the London School of Economics, St. Andrews, and

Trinity College Dublin.

Almost 80 boarders come to live at BSS from places such as

Canada, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the Carib-

bean, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Mexico. Our Board-

ing Program is kept deliberately small and intentionally interna-

tional for the betterment of the students. Set amid lush

grounds in Toronto‟s prestigious Forest Hill neighbourhood,

the sprawling campus offers an academic atmosphere in the

tradition of the finest schools around the world.

Our visitors tell us that there is something unique about

Crescent that is evident on first walking through our

front doors: they feel immediately „at home‟.

The three-way partnership between faculty, parents and

students forms the basis of our school culture. We work

hard at building relationships, and we believe that this is

what makes our school unique.

At Crescent every effort is made to make new students

and their families feel welcome. Before long your son will

become part of a large and caring extended family. All

three schools, Lower, Middle and Upper, are located in

the same facility which allows the boys to integrate and

share mentoring and leadership roles across all ages and

grades. At the same time, each School observes the in-

tegrity of an age-appropriate environment where teach-

ers can understand each boy encouraging him to discover

his own unique talents and abilities.

Parents are always welcome at Crescent. We encourage

and support active participation through many social and

educational opportunities. Additionally, many parents

volunteer in our vibrant and energetic parent associa-

tions – the Guild and the Crescent Family Committee.

St. Andrew's College is one of Canada's premier

all boys boarding and day schools for students

from grades 6 to 12. With a student population

of 585 boys, we seek well-rounded students who

display a strong sense of character and intellec-

tual curiosity, participate in our extensive athletic

program (57 teams across 23 sports), and can

contribute to our art, drama or music programs.

Activity-based learning is at the forefront of out

academic curriculum, offering boys a learning

environment that inspires and challenges students

with an expanding Advanced Placement (AP)

program. Boys are encouraged to become in-

volved in extra-curricular activities, all of which

help to develop lifelong leadership and independ-

ent learning skills. One hundred percent of SAC

graduates attend university in Canada, the United

States, and abroad.

chael's College School stands as Ontario's only

independent Catholic school for young men. The

school offers an enriched, Catholic, liberal arts

programme that prepares young men for univer-

sity and to carry on as leaders in their community.

Our mission is to educate the whole person

through the teachings of the Catholic Church and

a demanding curriculum. The school‟s strong aca-

demic curriculum is complemented by faith devel-

opment, leadership opportunities and a diverse

array of co-curricular activities.

Our 10-acre campus features a fully networked

learning environment, modern research tools,

electronic study aids, as well as first class athletic,

art and music training and performance facilities.

Each year, over 95 per cent of St. Michael's gradu-

ates are accepted at their university of first choice;

approximately half of these graduates are recog-

nized as Ontario Scholars. Following graduation,

our students remain engaged with the St. Michael‟s

community through an Alumni Association that

boasts a vibrant membership of over 7000 world-

TPS was created by a group of education consultants who

are experts on Canadian private and independent schools.

We saw a lack of quality information on the web and a need

to provide families with thorough information about the

private school landscape in Canada. Our website, TopPrivat-

eSchools.ca, aims to be a complete research center with a

continuously expanding knowledge base for private schools

and private school admissions. We hope our resources can

help you make informed decisions about your family‟s educa-

tion options.
