Adelaide Festival Centre’s Adelaide Guitar Festival is produced and held on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. We pay respect to ancestors and Elders past, present and emerging as the traditional custodians of the Adelaide Plains. We honour their cultural and spiritual relationship with their country and we do so in the spirit of reconciliation.

Adelaide Guitar Festival is proud to celebrate Adelaide’s designation as a

UNESCO Creative City of Music

WELCOMEIt is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this year’s Adelaide Guitar Festival. After 2020’s calamitous mark on the arts industry I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that from 2021 onwards we’ll be bringing you an annual version of the festival! The focus on our Winter Schools will be amplified as they will now be running during the festival itself, across three full weeks of activity. Due to international border uncertainty, this year is the perfect opportunity to honour our extraordinary local artists from across Australia. As always, the guitar’s ability to star in any genre of music will be highlighted throughout a multitude of performances in Adelaide and across regional South Australia, in town-wide activations, community events, educational programs, and of course many inspiring performances. Join me here in July for a spectacular few weeks, celebrating all the magnificent possibilities of this most humble instrument.

Slava GrigoryanArtistic Director

Continuing Adelaide Guitar Festival’s unstoppable growth, we are extending our ambition this year to become a celebration of some of the greatest guitarists Australia has to offer, but also expanding the calendar of community engagement and outreach programs. From Adelaide Guitar Festival On The Road to Resonance performances in health and aged care facilities, we are committed to sharing with South Australians our love of all things stringed. As always, we thank all those involved in the festival – including artists, staff, our Government and corporate partners, volunteers, and community groups. Of course, we could not do it without you, our passionate audiences, and I look forward to enjoying the festival with you all.

Douglas Gautier AMCEO & Artistic Director Adelaide Festival Centre

The South Australian Government is proud to support the 2021 Adelaide Guitar Festival and a program bursting with talented and exciting performers.2021 brings significant changes for Adelaide Guitar Festival, including taking the music to more venues and more regions. After a trying year for South Australians, it is wonderful to see a positive influence like this festival spread throughout our State.Celebrating Adelaide’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Music, the festival champions opportunities for emerging artists and taps into South Australia’s huge potential for cultural tourism throughout the year.I hope you enjoy this festival as much as I know I will.
