La Demi-Saison 9 A spicy overture of winter and floral breeze of
summer, with crisp prosecco we create a beautiful seasonal glass of bubbles
(Homemade mandarin & cinnamon gin liqueur, violet syrup, fresh lime juice, prosecco)
Trinidad Sour 11.5 Some drinks just look strange on paper. Most cocktails take a
dash or two of Angostura Bitters but we add almost a whopping double measure. That’s what’s called for in this unusual - but oh-so-tasty - drink. The orgeat and lemon balance the herbal
intensity, giving a richness that carries through to the last sip.(Angostura Bitters, Orgeat, fresh lemon juice, Bulleit 95 Rye)
Satin, Silk and Laced 9 Our deeply infused chamomile tequila gives a soft and
herbaceous note to this warming but beautifully balanced sipping cocktail. Cleverly laced with Absinthe to give a
liquorice, silky smooth undertone.(Chamomile-infused Olmeca Tequila, fresh lemon juice,
honey syrup, Enigma Absinthe, egg white)

HISTORY OFTHE MCR
The Restaurant and Bar has been fully and sensitively refurbished, to reveal intricate botanical patterns on
our stunning vaulted ceiling. The original architecture and detailed stonework which once formed part of our
Victorian kitchens creates a truly atmospheric experience.
A major refurbishment of the Great Hall complex was undertaken in 2004. Very few noticeable alterations were made to the Hall but a mezzanine floor was added in the
top half of the kitchens to create a new space for a Members’ Common Room.
The kitchens were originally described in The Illustrated London News in 1845 as ‘a large and lofty apartment, with
a stone vaulted roof, supported by columns; and a huge projecting fire-place.’ These original features can still be
seen in the MCR today.
