Typography

The typography of this contents age is mainly sans-serif which is thought of as easier to read. The fonts are in theme with the cover and this makes the magazine more exciting and look more organised as a result of the consistency. The article names are all in black sans-serif so that they are bold and stand out over the rest of the text on the page. Under all of the article stories there is a smaller font which is a small description of what is in the article.

Colour

The colours used in the contents page are the same colours used in the front cover and in the double page spread. This fits into the house style. More colours are added into the contents page as well as a result of the images used. These image colours create a contrast to the red, white and black theme of the magazine.

Layout

The layout is organised with all of the article names on the left hand side of the contents page and the images are all on the right hand side. The principle of thirds shows that the middle of the page focuses solemnly on Lana Del Rey’s face showing her beauty.

The route of the eye flows through the ‘Q’ logo and through the title of the page which is the contents. The route of the eye the proceeds to go down through the image of Lana Del Rey again which could connote that she is the most important person on the

contents page or that the article about her is the most important. The route of the eye then flows into some article stories and then across the two images of Professor Green and Kings of Leon so that the audience will know who is in the magazine.

Image

There are many images included in the contents page including those of well-known celebrities for celebrity endorsement. These celebrities include the likes of Lana Del Rey, Professor Green and the Kings of Leon. The image of Lana Del Rey is also shown to create mystery and the audience will be intrigued to find out if in the article it explains why the image of her has blood dripping down her face.
