These waters have been acquired over a period of time through a lot of hard work, and must be respected. At the present time good fishing waters are at a premium, with many clubs or individuals waiting their chance to step in and take over a water that has been abused and subsequently lost by a negligent club. So bearing this in mind, please respect the owner’s goodwill by observing the country code, shut all gates, protect crops and wildlife, use the paths provided, read the local rules for each water in conjunction with the club’s rules and above all do not leave any litter. Observance of these few and easy to carry out rules will ensure the continuation of our fishing. Fishery management is an important part in maintaining good fishing on the Club’s waters and to this end the recording of specimens and outstanding catches is vital, so please return your forms to any committee member. The continued upkeep of the Club’s waters is vital if fishing is to continue in a safe and enjoyable environment and this to a large extent is dependent upon the club members voluntary efforts at the working parties. So please support your club, keep your future fishing safe and attend the working parties. Dates will be issued. The Club has an active match fishing contingent and anyone wishing to take part is more than welcome and should contact the match secretary, whose name and telephone number is on the enclosed committee page. The Match Secretary has endeavoured to respect the pleasure angler and has kept the matches on the Club’s waters to a minimum.The dates of these are on a page enclosed within. The committee hope your fishing is enjoyable and wish you tightlines. BY- LAWS

a) Any member failing to observe any of the following By-laws shallbe liable to disciplinary measures as in Rule 7(a) of theConstitution of the Club.

b) All of the following By-laws are subject to the individual rulesaffecting each water.

I. Litter is not to be left by any member. Each member shall be heldresponsible for any litter found in the vicinity of his chosen place of fishingwhether it has been left by him or not. Likewise discarded line, shot, hookstin cans, glass bottles and plastic bags shall be considered litter.

2. No entertainment equipment is to be used on Club waters other thanthose used with personal headphones.

3. Boats and guns are strictly forbidden on Club waters or property, unlessunder the control of an officer of the Club.

4. Open fires are forbidden on Club waters or property, unless under thecontrol of an officer of the Club.

5. All Barbel caught, must be returned to the water immediately afterweighing. Carp and all other species of 5lb and over must not be retainedin any form of keep-net. The weighing of any fish must be done using aproperly designed weigh-net or sling. The welfare of the fish is paramountat all times.

6. Bivvies/umbrellas are allowed on Club waters. However, access must beavailable to Club members to walk past the bivvy/umbrella. Common sensemust prevail and any disputes must be brought before the Head Bailiff toresolve. Bivvies/umbrellas must be a colour sympathetic to thesurroundings. Other types of tents are not permitted.

7. No fish are to be transferred from, or to, any Club water. All fish are to bereturned alive, except fish under 4 inches which can be used for livebaiting,and in season Trout which may be taken at the member’s discretion subjectto the minimum size limits, stipulated by the Environment Agency (seeinside cover of rule book) and are subject to each waters individual rules.No more than two Trout may be taken in any one day but always subjectto a valid licence.

8. No excess bait is to be thrown into the water or left on the bank side.This shall be classed as litter.

9. Every member must have in his possession whilst fishing Club waters adisgorger or forceps, unhooking mat and a landing net of knotlessconstruction and at least I5 inches (37.5cm) wide, a current membershipwarrant and a valid EA rod and line licence. Unhooking mats must be of asuitable size and design for the species you may encounter when fishing.

10. Where keep-nets are permitted, they must conform to the latest EArequirements.

11. No baited tackle is to be left unattended at any time, whether in or outof the water.

12. Members are to fish with no more than two rods at any time, the rodsbeing no more than two metres apart, other than in the context of Rule32.

13. No swim is to be occupied unless being fished. The leaving of tackle inorder to reserve a swim is strictly forbidden.

14. Strictly no multi-hook rigs to be used (with the exception of wire tracesnap tackle for Pike, though Pike anglers are requested to use single hookson a wire trace where possible).

15. Fishing on all Club Waters (except where night fishing is allowed) isrestricted to that time between one hour before sunrise to one hour aftersunset. Where night fishing is allowed, only bank side illumination for thepurpose of baiting up or unhooking is permitted.

16. Any form of Bean, Pulse (pea) or Nut baits are strictly forbidden.17. Dogs are strictly forbidden on Club waters or property.18. No swimming or bathing in Club waters.19. Certain sizes of lead shot are now illegal. Members must ensure that they

comply with the law. Leads smaller than 1 ounce are currently illegal.20. No gaff hooks, gorge hooks or jagging (stroke hauling). No bent hooks or

fixed leads for Carp fishing or fixed frame feeder rigs to be used on Clubwaters.

21. Bad Language, shouting and running is strictly forbidden.22. Membership warrants are not transferable. Members found transferring

tickets will be expelled. Up to date photographs must be provided eachyear when subscriptions are paid.

23. Boilies should only be used in moderation.24. Any Club member showing his own membership warrant can challenge

any other person to produce his membership warrant, guest ticket orexchange book. Members should do this in order to ensure only bona-fideClub members and guests fish our waters.

25. Members must abide by the country code, as well as the fishing code,paying particular attention to the shutting and locking of gates and theprotection of property.

26. Juniors when night fishing, must be accompanied by an Adult Member orNon-fishing Member, each of eighteen years of age or over, who shall beresponsible for their charges conduct and safety at all times. They must befishing in adjacent swims and no further apart. Members under the age ofeighteen years shall be deemed by the club to have obtained the consentof their parent or guardian when fishing at any time.

27. No riding of bicycles around Club waters or on Club land.28. No Pike Fishing between 1st June and 30th September inclusive, on all club

lakes. Livebaits must be 4 inches or less and be used in the water thatthey were caught from. No shop bought coarse fish deadbaits, only seadead baits to be used.

29. No alcohol or illegal substances to be taken onto Club waters orproperties.

30. A third rod may be used from the same peg from 1st November to thelast day of February on the following Lakes :- Marchwood, Embley andNutsey. An additional fee must be paid on application to the club. If using athird rod, a second Environment Agency licence is required. When fishingfor Pike two rods only.

31. When fishing for specimen Pike and Carp, a landing net with arms of notless than 32 must be used. Anglers must also have in use an unhooking mat.

32. Marker floats must be immediately removed from the water after castingout your last baited rod.

33. The use of imitation baits mimicking any natural BANNED bait is alsobanned, i.e. Tiger Nuts & Peanuts. (see bylaw 16)

34. Spinners must be over one and a half inches/35mm. long when used onthe River Blackwater to protect the native Trout.

35. In the event of a river being unfishable for the purpose of holding a match,Embley Lake will be used as the reserve venue; however the water will notbe closed.

36. Club officials have the authority to ask any angler to reel in and checkterminal tackle.

37. Visiting Exchange Book Holders from other Clubs are not permitted tofish at night on any Club waters and are restricted to fish to that timebetween one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.

38. Bait Boats are strictly forbidden on Club waters or property.

MATCH RULESI. Ground bait may be wetted and keepnets positioned before the starting

signal, but no other breaking of the water is allowed. The depth of the swimcan be plumbed.

2. A competitor shall have in use only one rod, one line and one hook at oneand the same time but may have other rods assembled for use, placedbehind the competitor.

3. Competitors may use catapults, throwing sticks, swim feeder, bait droppers,but no artificial aids,

4. All fish must be kept alive in a knotless keepnet at least 8 feet in length and15 inches in diameter. At every club match, all persons should bring at least2 keepnets.

5. All fish shall be eligible for weighing-in except out of season fish and Trout,Salmon & Pike.

6. Any bait may be used except live or dead fish, spinning, artificial lures orany bait banned under bye-law 18.

7. Any competitor leaving his peg must withdraw tackle and bait from water,hooks must not be left baited on the bank.

8. All competitors must play and land their own fish. Fish hooked prior to thefinish signal may be weighed if landed within 15 minutes of the finishingsignal.

9. Peg numbers must not be changed after the draw.10. Contestants found to have litter at their pegs will be disqualified.11. Stewards decision shall be final regarding the weight of any catch.12. Any complaints about behaviour of another competitor must be made

within 30 minutes of the end of the Match.13. No fishing will be allowed after the finishing signal until the competitor’s

fish have been weighed.14. River Fishing -Your swim starts from your peg, you may move downstream

to cover the water but no closer than 5 yards to the next competitor’speg.

15. Lake Fishing - Competitors must remain within an area 3 feet either sideof their peg. The fishing limit shall be a line midway between the pegs oneither side, also no casting more than half way across a lake when theopposite bank is pegged.

16. All pegs not to be collected until after the match.17. Any competitor found to be in contravention of these rules shall be liable

to disqualification or any other penalty thought fit by the Match Committee.18. All entrants to a match should be weighed in even if they are subject to a

disqualification.19. On club waters where Pike or Carp are present, an unhooking mat and

sling net will accompany the weighing scales.

CONSTITUTIONWhere applicable, in the following Constitution and By-laws of the Club,wording importing the masculine shall be taken to include the feminine,Similarly, wording importing the singular shall be taken to include the pluraland vice-versa.

1. NAME OF THE CLUB The name of the Club shall be Test Valley Angling Club and SouthamptonPiscatorial Society.

2. OBJECTS OF THE CLUBThe objects of the Club shall be to obtain and manage waters for it’smembers to fish, and to promote the interests of freshwater anglinggenerally.The Club will not be dissolved, if after calling a General Meeting, there aretwo or more Members wishing to continue the business and objectives ofthe Club.

3. MEMBERSa) The Committee shall determine the Maximum number of members

permitted in the Club at any one time.b) Application for membership of the Club shall not be passed or accepted

unless the application form is completed fully and correctly. Any entry uponthe form subsequently found to be untrue or inaccurate shall automaticallynullify the form, and immediately invoke cancellation of any membershipalready granted. The applicant, or member, shall then have to re-apply.

4. CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIPThe class of membership is conditional on the members age onthe 1st of April of the year.An Adult is considered to be any person reaching their sixteenth birthday on or before the 1st of April in any year and therefore liable to pay theappropriate fees and subscriptions.Any Adult Member aged 16 or 17 years must obtain their parent/guardiansignature before fishing on club waters unaccompanied, and is notpermitted to take juniors or juveniles fishing on club waters at any time.Only Full Adult, Honorary, Full OAP, Full Disabled and Life Members areallowed to vote at Club meetings.All members are entitled to attend club meetings.

a) Full Adult Members:All members 16 years or over living within a thirty mile radius of RomseyTown Hall, Romsey Hants.Full Adult Members over 18 may add their partner and any children under16 years of age to their application form. The partner and children areentitled to fish but must be accompanied at all times by the Full AdultMember. This is a concession, partner/children of the Full Adult Member

have no rights to vote at General Meeting, or to stand, or to hold any officeof the Club.

b) Associate Adult Members:All members 16 years or over living outside a thirty mile radius of RomseyTown Hall, Romsey Hants. Associate members shall not be permitted tovote at general meetings of the Club. Associate Adult Members over 18 may add their partner and any childrenunder 16 years of age to their application form. The partner and childrenare entitled to fish but must be accompanied at all times by the AssociateAdult Member.

b) Junior Members:All members falling within the age range 13 to 15 years inclusive.Any person reaching their 13th birthday on or before the 1st of April inany year, shall be considered to come under the junior classification andtherefore liable to pay the appropriate fees and subscriptions.Juniors must be accompanied by an Adult or Non-fishing Member of 18years of age or over when night fishing.

c) Juvenile Members:All members falling within the age range 12 years and under on the 1st ofApril. Juvenile members must be accompanied by an Adult member of 18years of age or over at all times whilst on club property or fishing clubwaters. When night fishing Juveniles must be accompanied by their parentor guardian who must be an Adult or Non-fishing Member over the ageof 18. Juveniles will only be admitted to the membership of the club with thecounter signature of one of the parents or guardians.

d) Honorary Membership:Elected as such by the Committee and shall enjoy all those rights andprivileges accorded to Full Members without subscription. These shall bereviewed annually by the Committee.

e) Non-fishing Membership:Open to those adults who wish to belong to the Club but who do notwish to fish. Such members shall not be entitled to vote at GeneralMeetings of the Club.

f) Full OAP members: A member who is 65 or more years of age living within a thirty mileradius of Romsey Town Hall, Romsey Hants.OAP members must show proof of reaching 65 years of age on or beforethe 1st of April in the current membership year when joining the club. FullOAP membership carries the same entitlements as a Full AdultMembership, including the right to vote at General Meetings.A separate key may be purchased for any disabled car park.

g) Associate OAP Members: A member who is 65 or more years of age living outside a thirty mile

radius of Romsey Town Hall, Romsey Hants.OAP members must show proof of reaching 65 years of age on or beforethe 1st of April in the current membership year when joining the club.Associate OAP membership carries the same restrictions as a AssociateAdult membership, including no voting right at General Meetings. Aseparate key may be purchased for for any disabled car park.

h) Full Disabled Members:Disabled members living within a thirty mile radius of Romsey Town Hall,Romsey Hants. must show Disability Living Allowance Book or Blue Badgewhen joining the club. Disabled membership carries the same entitlementsas a Full Adult Membership including the right to vote at General Meetings.A separate key may be purchased for any disabled car park.

i) Associate Disabled Members:Disabled members living outside a thirty mile radius of Romsey Town Hall,Romsey Hants. must show Disability Living Allowance Book or Blue Badgewhen joining the club. Disabled membership carries the same restrictionsas an Associate Adult Membership, including no voting right at GeneralMeetings. A separate key may be purchased for any disabled car park.

j) Life Membership:Life Membership will be considered by the committee after a minimum of14 years of outstanding service to the Club.

k) 3rd Rod / Night Ticket:This facility is available to all members. This can be paid for at any timeprior to using a 3rd Rod or Night Fishing.A 3rd Rod can only be used between 1st November and the end ofFebruary on limited waters.Where night fishing is permitted, a Night Fishing Ticket is required to fishon all Lakes between Dusk and Dawn.Juniors must be accompanied by a member over 18 years of age whennight fishing.Juveniles must be accompanied by their Parent or Guardian who must bea member over the age of 18 when night fishing.

5. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND ENTRANCE FEESa) New Members shall pay an entrance fee upon joining the club, along with

an annual subscription. Thereafter, they shall only pay an annualsubscription.

b) Entrance fees and the annual subscription shall be such sums asdetermined solely by the Committee.

c) Subscriptions shall not be paid before the 1st April in each year but shallbecome due on that date. Members failing to renew membership by the30th of April of the same year shall cease to be members, such personsfailing to rejoin by 31st of March the following year will have to apply formembership, and pay the entrance fees as In Rule 5(a) as well as beingliable to join the membership waiting list.

d) Cheques must be made payable to Test Valley Angling Club (with thename and address of drawer on reverse) and submitted to the MembershipSecretary, PO Box 400, Southampton SO40 0GF or paid in at a speciallyconvened membership evening.

e) All members shall notify the Membership Secretary/Hon Secretary or theTreasurer of any change of address.

f) There will be an administration charge for the replacement of lostmembership warrants which will be decided annually by the Committee.

6. RESIGNATIONAny Member may resign his membership of the Club at any time by noticein writing to the Hon. Secretary. In any such case, the Club shall not beliable for the refund of any fees or subscriptions paid.

7. DISCIPLINEa) The Committee shall have the right to suspend, expel or otherwise

reprimand any member who shall be considered to be in breach of Clubrules or whose conduct could be construed as injurious to the reputationor well being of the Club or who could be considered to have acted in anunsportsmanlike manner.

b) No member shall be disciplined under Rule 7(a) without his first beingsummoned in writing on a stated charge (at least seven days beforehand),in order that he shall have a full opportunity to state his case in hisdefence.

c) The Committees power to discipline a member will be by a simplemajority of those present at a properly convened Committee meeting. Anymember so disciplined shall have the right of appeal.

d) Any member suspended or expelled from the Club shall not be entitledto any refund of any fees or subscriptions paid. In the case of expulsion,the former member shall not be permitted to rejoin the Club without firstapplying to the Hon. Secretary in writing for permission to do so. The Hon.Secretary will notify the Committee decision to him. They will be requiredto return the club key(s).

e) Any person who has been suspended or expelled from the Club shall notunder any circumstances enter upon any Club facility.

8. OFFICERS OF THE CLUBa) Honorary President & Vice President:i) President: The Committee shall elect a President of the Club who shall

serve until death or resignation or until removed from office by theresolution of the Committee.

ii) Vice Presidents: The Committee shall, from time to time, elect Vice-Presidents of the Club, the terms of office being as those of the office ofpresident. This position shall be used by the Committee to especiallyhonour those that the Committee feels have served the Club and it’s aimsexceptionally well. The number of Vice-Presidents the Club shall have atany one time shall be at the discretion of the Committee.

b) The Committee: The Committee shall consist of the following Officers of the Club:Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary &Trophy Marshal, Specimen Fish Officer, Head Bailiff, Match Secretary,Maintenance Officer, Social Secretary, Planning Officer, CommitteeMembers (without portfolio), Fisheries Officer.All shall be elected from the membership at an AGM and shall serve for aterm of two years. All positions shall be Honorary. The positions ofChairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Secretary shall be Ex-Officio. The Term ex-officio shall be taken to refer to all those personshaving served a full term of office on the Committee. Upon completion ofsuch a term of office, that person shall be forever regarded as ex-officioand therefore eligible to stand for election to an ex-officio position at anytime, UNLESS that person has at any time previously been removed fromoffice under Rule 7 or Rule 11(iv).

c) Trustees: The committee shall elect three Trustees, who shall serve until death orresignation or until removed from office by resolution of the Committee.Any vacancy occurring shall be filled by appointment by the Committeeduring any period after the vacancy occurs. Before it is filled, the remainingTrustees shall continue to act as such, provided there are at least two. Theproperty of the Club, excepting cash and chattels, shall be vested in theTrustees, to be dealt with by them as the Committee shall from time totime, by resolution direct. The Club shall indemnify the Trustees for anyactions brought against the Club in respect of the properties held in theirnames. The Committee shall have the power to authorise the Club’sTrustees to enter into capital loan agreements, or mortgage agreements,on its behalf in order to facilitate the purchase of land, riverbeds, lakes orequipment to the Club’s benefit. The Committee shall have the authorityto permit the Club’s Trustees to use the Club’s existing assets or anyassets being purchased, as collateral if necessary. In all such cases, the Clubshall indemnify the Trustees against any personal loss.

d) Bailiffs: The Club shall endeavour to employ a team of voluntary Bailiffs, who shallwork under the direction of the Head Bailiff. They shall be responsible forthe enforcement of the Club’s rules and by-laws. The Head Bailiff shall haveserved a minimum of two years concurrent service as a bailiff of TVAC. Inthe event of there being no eligible nominee the Committee shall exerciseits discretion.

e) Auditors and Club Accounts: Auditors for the Club’s accounts shall be elected at an AGM following thesame procedures as those for the election of Committee Officers. TheAuditors shall serve for a term of two years. The Club’s accounts shallclose on the 31st of December each year.

f) Solicitors: Solicitors to act on behalf of the Club shall be appointed by theCommittee.

g) Conflict of Interest:The Committee shall have the power to remove from office any ClubOfficial that it considers to have a conflict of interest. Subject to a vote of2/3rds in favour by the FULL COMMITTEE. A Committee member shallnot hold office in any other freshwater Angling Club, Fishing Club orFishing Syndicate.

9. LEGAL PROCEEDINGSThe Committee shall have the power to take and defend legal actions inorder to further the objects of the Club. Any expenditure of Club fundsfor such purposes shall be shown as such in the Club accounts and shallbe presented to the next occurring AGM following the termination of anysuch litigation for ratification.

10. MANAGEMENT & INTERPRETATIONThe Management of the Club shall be vested solely and entirely in theCommittee. The Committee shall be the sole authority for theinterpretation of the Club Rules and By-laws and the decision of theCommittee on any question of the interpretation shall be final and bindingupon the membership.

11. MEETINGSa) Committee Meetingsi) The Committee shall meet when necessary, but not less than monthly, to

conduct the business of the club. A quorum at any Committee meetingshall be six, and no business of the Club shall be decided upon unless aquorum is present. A quorum shall be deemed to include the Chairman ofsuch a meeting. Minutes shall be taken at every Committee meeting, a copyof those minutes to be signed by the Chairman as a true record of themeeting and kept in a safe place by the Honourary Chairman as a recordof the business of the Club.

ii) The Committee shall have the power to co-opt members to fill anyvacancy that may arise on the Committee or for other special purposes.Such co-opted members shall have no power to vote at CommitteeMeetings, though in the case of members co-opted to fill Committeevacancies, they shall have the right to put themselves forward for electionto those positions proper at the next occurring AGM.

iii) At Committee meetings the Hon. Chairman shall take the Chair; or if heis not present, the Vice-Chairman, or if he is not present, a Committeemember elected from those Committee members present. The Chair shallhold only a casting vote, to be used in the event of a proposition receivingan equal number of votes both for and against. The Chair shall hold thesole authority of decision on any question of proceedings at a Committeemeeting.

iv) Any Committee member missing three consecutive Committee meetingsshall forfeit his seat unless he can show just cause to the satisfaction ofthe committee.

b) Annual General Meetings (AGM)An AGM shall be held in each and every year, not later than the 31stMarch, to consider the following:- The Audited balance sheet: Theappointment of Committee officers, Auditors and any resolution putforward by the members under Rule 12 or by the Committee.

c) Extraordinary General MeetingsAn Extraordinary general meeting may be called at any time that theCommittee might determine, either for their own reasons or upon receiptof a letter duly signed by at least fifty current Full (Adult, OAP, Disabled)Members in their own hand calling for such a meeting and stating thereasons why. Any member signing such a letter, shall write his full name andmembership number alongside his signature in a legible manner, this beingfor the purposes of verification, failure to do so rendering the letter invalid.Upon receipt of such a letter, the Committee shall call an extraordinarymeeting within twenty-eight days where possible.

12. NOTICE & PROCEEDINGS AT GENERAL MEETINGSa) Notice of the time, date and location of every general meeting, including

notice of the closing date for the submission of resolutions, shall be sentto each member at his last known address at least ten days before the dateof that meeting.

b) Notice of any resolutions to be moved at a general meeting, unlessproposed by the Committee, shall be submitted to the Hon. Chairmanbefore the 31st of December preceding the AGM and shall be signed bythe member proposing and the member seconding. Any such resolutionunless withdrawn by the proposer, shall be included in the business of themeeting.

c) At any general meeting, thirty five members shall be a quorum. No businessof the Club shall be decided upon unless a quorum is present.

d) At any general meeting, the Hon. Chairman or in the case of his absence,the Vice-Chairman, or in the case of the absence of both, a member electedfrom those present shall take the chair. The Chair shall carry only a castingvote, to be used in the event of a proposition receiving an equal numberof votes both for and against. The Chair shall hold the sole authority ofdecision on any question of procedure at a general meeting.

e) Only Full (Adult, AOP, Disabled) Members shall be entitled to vote at ageneral meeting, and shall carry with them their current membershipwarrant to produce for inspection prior to being given a voting card.Though Partners and Children, Associate, Junior and Juvenile membersshall have no vote at general meetings, they shall be made welcome andshall be entitled to put forward their own views and propositions.

f) Except as otherwise provided for elsewhere in the Rules, a simple majorityvote of those present and voting shall carry any resolution or proposition,including the amending and repealing of the rules and by-laws of the Club.

g) The Chair may, if he so decides, include in the business of the meeting anymotion raised under the heading Any Other Business, provided that he

feels the motion to be worthy of discussion. The Chair’s decision on anysuch matter shall be final and binding upon those present.

h) Balance sheets and copies of previous year’s AGM minutes must be madeavailable for member’s perusal upon request at least seven days prior to AGM.

13. ACCESS TO CLUB FACILITIESNo person shall be entitled to enter Club property or fish Club watersuntil they have been accepted as a bona-fide member of the Club and havepaid all those relevant fees and subscriptions due.All members must have a current membership warrant in their possessionwhich they must carry with them at all times whilst on club property orfishing club waters and exchange waters. Entrance to General meetingswill require the production of the membership warrant.Any member using Club facilities or on Club property, on beingapproached by a Club Bailiff and any other member showing hisMembership Warrant or Bailiffs Warrant, must produce his ownmembership warrant and Environment Agency / Rod Licence / Permit forthat Bailiffs inspection. He must also comply with any reasonable requestthat bailiff might make. Failure to comply with this rule shall leave thatmember open to disciplinary action.

14. GUEST TICKETSMembers shall be able to apply for up to two Guest Tickets at any onetime. These shall only be issued to adult members (not juniors or juveniles)who must specify which water they wish to take the guest to (which willthen be entered upon the ticket, the ticket then being valid for that wateronly) and who must accompany that guest at all times whilst on Clubproperty or fishing Club waters. Guest Tickets shall only be valid for theday specified on the ticket, and then only for that time between one hourbefore sunrise and one hour after sunset. Guest Tickets must be paid foron collection and must be requested at least forty-eight hours in advance.They shall be available from the Membership secretary, and Homestorestackle shop at Swaythling.Guest tickets shall not be available on the bank side. Any member taking aguest onto Club property or Club waters shall be held responsible forensuring that the guest adheres to all the Club rules and by-laws and thathe behaves in an orderly and sportsmanlike manner. Not all waters maybe available for Guest Tickets.24 hour guest tickets are available from membership secretary only. Lookin handbook for 2 pre-printed Guest Night Tickets application forms tobe filled in and sent off to membership sec. at least 14 days prior to theday required and they will be processed and returned by post. The form isalso available from the website.

15. EXCHANGE/DAY TICKET WATERSWhere possible, or where expedient, the Committee shall endeavour toarrange exchange/day ticket facilities with other clubs and organisations inthe area, in order that members might fish other waters.

Upon collection of the books, you are advised to read their rules as thesewill be binding on you. Exchange books (tickets) permit only the holder tobe present on specified waters of other clubs.They shall be available from the membership secretary, failure to returnExchange/Day Tickets by 09.00 hours the following morning will incur apenalty to the cost of the Exchange/Day Ticket, per day except IOW bookswhich may be booked out longer by arrangement with the MembershipSecretary. Lost tickets will incur a cost to the Club of a replacement andtherefore no further tickets will be issued to that member until the penaltyis paid.

16. SPECIMEN FISH The Club shall award trophies annually to the captors of the best-knownspecimen of each species of freshwater fish from Club and nonowned/leased waters each year. The fish must be witnessed by at least two other members of the Club(excepting in certain cases at the sole discretion of the Specimen FishOfficer) and a specimen fish form filled out and submitted to the SpecimenFish Officer within fourteen days of the capture..

17. BY-LAWSa) The By-laws set out in the appendix to these Rules, as well as any By-laws

made under Rule 17(b), shall be binding upon the membership untilrepealed at a general meeting or by the Committee, subject to anyamendment made under Rule 17(b).

b) The Committee shall, from time to time, make, repeal or amend all suchBy-laws as it deems expedient (provided that they are not inconsistentwith these Rules), to take effect until set aside at a general meeting or bythe Committee.

18. MATCHESi) Matches shall be permitted on Club waters under the direction of the

Match Secretary, but no more than 24 matches to be fished on Clubwaters during each membership year. No more than 6 matches to be heldon any one water during each membership year. The rules for the matchesto be decided by the Match Secretary, and appended to the Club RuleBook prior to the start of the year.

ii) On the day on which the match is fished, the Club water being used forthe match shall be deem to be closed to Club members/guests andexchange tickets holders for the period starting three hours prior to thecommencement of the match till one hour after the end of the match. NoFishing, other than the match itself, shall be available during this period.

19. TROPHIESIn the event of the Club being dissolved, then trophies shall be returnedto the donors or their surviving relatives, if desired.

The matches will be free to junior members of TVAC and all you will need tobring in addition to the normal club rules are one keepnet for carp and anotherfor small fish (rudd, perch etc). The match hours are printed in the fixture listand the draw is one hour before the start but you are advised to get to thedraw a little bit earlier to register. Please book in with the match secretarybefore the day as pegs will be limited on Kings. In addition to the designated junior club championship matches juniors are ofcourse welcome to fish any club events free of charge (there may be a peg feepayable on occasions when day ticket fisheries are used) however until theyare 16 they will not be able to enter the pools!

Proceed down thisroad for approx. 150 yards and then turn right (opposite Toll Cottage)onto gravel track, then left onto tarmac track. NUTSEY LAKE

Location

From Calmore/Nutsey Industrial Estate roundabout on the A36, turninto the industrial estate, follow this road (Brunell Road) all the wayto the end. Parking is available at this point (see map).

Access to Nutsey car park is directly ahead through the locked gateand down the unmade track.

The gates must be locked at all times when not in use and must belocked immediately behind you.

Description

This lake was formerly a gravel pit and subsequently is fairly deep inplaces and so care must be taken, especially younger members. In thesummer months the lake can become fairly weedy but withoutdetriment to the fishing. It holds a good stock of fish, many tospecimen size, these include Common, Mirror and Crucian Carp,Tench, Chub, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Pike and Eels.

THERE IS A TOILET AT THIS VENUE.

OWER - Take the A36 Salisbury Road from Totton until you reachthe Ower roundabout. Take the A3090 towards Romsey. Returntowards the roundabout via the A3090 and before the roundaboutis a lay-by on the left. Fishing is only DOWNSTREAM of the bridge down as far as itsjunction with the Cadnam River (Beat 2) and also a small stretch ofthe east bank immediately below the bridge, as indicated.NO FISHING NORTH OF THE A3090

CADNAM RIVERParking as for Blackwater above. Fishing is on the east bank onlyDOWNSTREAM (Beats 3 & 4) of the bridge, down to where it joinsthe Blackwater.

WADE BRIDGE - Take the A36 from Totton then turn right intoHill Street. Pass over the M27 and eventually you will pass over asmall bridge. Park carefully on the right just over the bridge in thespaces provided.

NUTSEY - Fishing is on the west bank from the public footbridgenear the water works offices upstream to a point where the gaspipeline crosses (peg 4).Access is via this public footpath to the adjoining footpath and the2nd white bridge. No access via Broadlands lake end
