SHORT TERM VOLUNTEERING (STV)/ WORKCAMPS Short Term Volunteering (STV) also called as workcamp is an international volunteering program where volunteers stay 1 – 3 weeks for the project.

Volunteers work in teams. There are 5 - 15 volunteers volunteering together in one workcamp. Sometimes one project site collaborate workcamps and long term

volunteering to achieve its goals. GREAT workcamps are organized seasonal in which this year is in summer, between July – early October 2017. In all workcamps

volunteers are expected to be team players, be able and enjoy exploring ideas especially on the implementing part of the project. Two campleaders (or one for

small group) lead together in a workcamp. They are volunteers who are selected, trained, experienced and mandated several responsibilities to facilitate and lead

the workcamps. However, the success of one whole workcamp mainly determined by the volunteers’ team work.

Volunteer will stay in a camp site mostly located in the project site or nearby, in collaboration with partners or local communities with the main purpose of

exchanging experiences, culture, and mutual benefit among all people involved. In many places, for locals, international workcamp is quite an event. International

volunteers might become stars for the locals as most of Indonesian people are interested to new things/people including foreigners. This way, GREAT takes this

opportunity to promote and raising awareness of issues addressed in the workcamps towards specific groups such as local mothers, fathers, students or just public

in general. Workcamp is aimed at giving opportunity for international and local volunteers who would like to be involved in the action of GREAT international

voluntary service (IVS) projects in seasonal basis.
