Do you know that…
…genetic engineering may enhance bone regeneration after tooth extraction?
…an antimicrobial protein may affect the prognosis of oral cancer?
…high power curing lights do not necessarily work better?
This information, and more, will be shared by dental scientists during the 2017 Research Day program. You will enjoy concise presentations on a variety of topics, and poster presentations that showcase exciting research being conducted by faculty and student researchers at the University of Minnesota. In addition, you’ll see how dental students use critically appraised topics to develop an evidence-based treatment plan. You will benefit from this opportu-nity for learning, networking, and obtaining professional develop-ment credits at no fee, compliments of the School of Dentistry..
Benefits/ObjectivesYou will discover how to apply knowledge related to:
• the role of microRNAs in regenerating bone for better implant success.
• new findings that may help predict the clinical course of head and neck cancer.
• interprofessional education and collaborative practice initia-tives in the School of Dentistry clinics.
• resident research on endodontic diagnosis and microsurgery.
• TMD, its progression, and if it’s associated with different occlusal patterns.
• the effectiveness of high-power curing lights.
Who Should AttendDentists and dental team members interested in learning how cut-ting edge research being performed at the University of Minnesota is shaping the future of dentistry.
