These short courses can be used as evidence of professional development hours under the Health Practitioner Competency Assurance Act. Whitireia is a Nursing Council of New Zealand and New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) accredited provider. Short courses are available at various times throughout the year as noted below or due to demand. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

LOCATIONCourses are delivered in a variety of settings including Whitireia, Porirua campus or the workplace by arrangement.

One day workshops: 9am – 4pm.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIESRegistered health professionals will have increased knowledge and understanding to enhance their ability to provide evidence-based care.

The short courses provide professional development hours to meet continuing education requirements of health professionals.

QUALIFICATIONA Certificate in Health Professional Practice Development will be awarded after a total of 40 credits are accumulated.

FEES Domestic: $225 – $295

International: Please contact us

ENTRY REQUIREMENTSDomestic: registration as a health professional with a current New Zealand practicing certificate with the appropriate registration body.

International: IELTS 7.0 or equivalent and evidence of entry requirements comparable to New Zealand domestic requirements.
