Safe-SwapModular Architecture

Safe-swap, is a term used to refer to hot insertion and removal of modules from a host system without removing power.

In a redundant Power Protection System Safe-swap is achieved only if a faulty module may be replaced without interrupting the power to the load (application) and w/o having to transfer the load (application) to the raw mains (by-pass).

Employing appropriate hot swap techniques highly available power protection systems with ease of scaling and easy fault recovery can be created.
