NOTICE TO ALL CONTRACTORS

You are hereby notified of the following changes, clarifications and/or modifications to the original Contract Documents, Project Manual, Drawings, Specifications and/or previous Addenda. This Addendum shall supersede the original Contract Documents and previous Addenda wherein it contradicts the same, and shall take precedence over anything to the contrary therein. All other conditions remain unchanged.

This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Contract Documents dated February 6, 2018 (DSA Approved Set). Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in space provided on the Bid Proposal Form. Failure to acknowledge may subject Bidder to disqualification.

A. Revisions, Additions and Deletions

Item: 1. Specification Revisions

a. Specification Section 01015 Additional Requirements for DSA-Approved Projects. Added in its entirety.

b. Specification Section 01140 Work Restrictions, Part 1 – General, 1.3.B. Replace section in its entirety as follows: B. Time Related Work Restrictions within the Contract Time

1. Contract Time is a total of 270 calendar days between the Notice to Proceed and Substantial Completion, as articulated in Section 00600, Construction Agreement, Work Restrictions which does not disrupt or impact occupied areas of the facility may be completed during the daytime work shift hours of 7 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday.

1.1. Saturday, Sunday or Holiday Work: Contractor shall include in its bid the cost to work activities on or near the critical path (where critical



path is defined as 5 work day of project float or slack time) on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays. The Contractor shall provide written request (5) working days prior to the desired time for the proposed work on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays is to be approved the District.

1.2. Other Project Requirements to meet Contract Time: Contractor shall include in its bid the cost to work not only a normal work day shift, but also eight hour swing shift(s) where required to ensure that the Work and the scheduled interruptions do not interfere with College operations. Off-shift work activities may be granted for work that requires utility service interruptions as scheduled in the Contractor’s work plan per Section 1.2.D.4, above.

c. Specification Section 01140 Work Restrictions, Part 1 – General, 1.3.C. Add item 4 as follows: 4. Provide “Fire Watch” during electrical power interruptions to campus buildings. Refer to and coordinate with Section 26 00 10, Electrical General Requirements.

d. Specification Section 26 00 10 General Electrical Requirements, Part 1 – General, 1.01B-8. Replace item 8 in its entirety with as follows:

8. Provide temporary emergency generator power including all materials and labor during work involving Engineering Technology 480V main panel and the replacement of Transformer T22.

e. Specification Section 26 05 43 Underground Ducts and Raceways for Electrical Systems, Article 2.5. ADD item J as follows:

J. Frame and Cover: As an option, Weatherproof, gray cast iron complying with ASTM A 48/A 48M, Class 30B with milled cover-to-frame bearing surfaces; Cover to provide 36” diameter clear opening, H-20 wheel loading; bearing surfaces machined to assure quiet fit. Provide grade rings and risers as required. Cover Finish: Nonskid finish shall have a minimum coefficient of friction of 0.50. Special Covers: Recess in face of cover designed to accept finish material in paved areas.

f. Specification Section 32 31 13 Chain Link Fences & Gates, Article 2.02A2b1). Replace in its entirety with as follows: 1) Color: Green, according to ASTM F 668.



g. Specification Section 32 31 13 Chain Link Fences & Gates, Article 2.03A6a. Replace in its entirety with as follows:

a) Color: Green, according to ASTM F934. h. Specification Section 32 31 13 Chain Link Fences & Gates, Article 2.04A1.

Replace in its entirety with as follows: 1) Color: Green according to ASTM F9934

i. Specification Section 32 31 13 Chain Link Fences & Gates, Article 2.07C. Replace in its entirety with as follows: C. Color: Green.

j. Specification Section 32 31 13 Chain Link Fences & Gates, Article 2.08. DELETE text in its entirety and REPLACE with “NOT USED”.

2. Plan Revisions:

a. Sheet No. C101, Civil Site Plan – Grading; Deleted duplicate survey base; Adjusted location of (N) AD#3; Revised Sheet Note 9 to indicate chain link fabric shall be green vinyl coated; and Deleted privacy screen. See Revised Sheet.

b. Sheet No. C102, Civil Site Plan – Storm Drain; Adjusted location of (N) AD#3; Adjusted AD#1 invert and updated lengths in storm drain lines; Revised invert elevations of manholes (N) MH1A, MH2A & MH3A;. Revised Sheet Note No. 3 regarding new manhole invert elevations; Added note to read “SEE ELECTRICAL DRAWING SHEET E204 FOR NUMBER AND LOCATION OF ELECTRICAL LINES IN AND OUT OF (N) SWITCHGEAR”. See Revised Sheet.

c. Sheet No. C107, Civil Details; Revised Details 4, 5 and 6 to indicate green vinyl coated chain link fabric with green vinyl slats. See Revised Sheet.

d. Sheet No. E102, Key Note 8b. Replace in its entirety with as follows: 8b. PROVIDE TEMPORARY EMERGENCY GENERATOR POWER AND ALL CONNECTIONS TO PARKING LOT DURING TRANSFORMER T22 WORK REPLACEMENT.

e. Sheet No. E102, Key Note 11. ADD the following at the end. “PROVIDE TEMPORARY EMERGENCY GENERATOR POWER TO ET BUILDING MAIN PANEL DURING 480V PANEL WORK”.

f. Sheet No. E204, ADD to Key Note 4. “PRIOR TO ANY WORK AND PRECAST MANHOLE MANUFACTURER SHOP DRAWING SUBMITTALS, CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY (POTHOLING, ETC.) THAT THE PROPOSED NEW MANHOLE SIZE CAN BE INSTALLED IN DESIGNATED LOCATIONS”.

g. Sheet No. E204, ADD to Key Note 6 to READ: PRIOR TO ANY WORK, COORDINATE INTERRUPTION OF EXISTING CIRCUITS WITH DVC BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS TO A MAXIMUM OF LESS THAN 2-4 HOURS.



h. Sheet No. E305, REVISE Key Note 2 to READ: “REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF (E) ELBOWS, CABLES, ETC.

i. Sheet No. E305, ADD Key Note 3 to READ: "EXISTING ELECTRICAL MANHOLE TO BE ABANDONED SHALL PLUGGED ALL CONDUITS AND BE BACKFILLED WITH ENGINEERED FILL COMPACTED TO 90% RELATIVE DENSITY IN 8" MAXIMUM LOOSE LIFTS. DEMOLISH EXISTING COVER AND GRADE RING AND MINIMUM TOP 12" OF EXISTING ELECTRICAL MANHOLE BEFORE BACKFILLING”.

j. Sheet No. E307, ADD Key Note 3 to READ: "EXISTING ELECTRICAL MANHOLE TO BE ABANDONED SHALL PLUGGED ALL CONDUITS AND BE BACKFILLED WITH ENGINEERED FILL COMPACTED TO 90% RELATIVE DENSITY IN 8" MAXIMUM LOOSE LIFTS. SECTION 01015

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR DSA-APPROVED PROJECTS

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 GENERAL

The following additional requirements apply to this Project that is being reviewed by the Division of the State Architect (DSA).

1.2 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A. In addition to the duties specified in the Contract Documents, the duties of the Contractor shall be in accordance with the requirements specified in, Title 24, California Code of Regulations (CCR).

B. In addition to the duties specified in the Contract Documents, the duties of the Architect and the Architect's consultants shall be in accordance with the requirements specified in Part 1, Title 24, CCR.

C. DSA is not subject to arbitration proceedings.

D. Notify DSA at start of construction in accordance in Part 1, Title 24, CCR.

E. Changes: DSA defines all addenda and change orders as Construction Change Documents (CCD.) All CCD shall be submitted for DSA approval. Do not begin any work under an CCD until DSA approval is obtained. CCDs shall be in accordance in Part 1, Title 24, CCR. 1. Submit DSA 140 Form for Category A changes defined as construction changes

to or affecting Structural Safety, Fire Life Safety or Accessibility. 2. Submit DSA 141 Form for Category B changes defined as construction changes

NOT affecting Structural Safety, Fire Life Safety or Accessibility.

F. Do not begin work under a written order until a CCD has been submitted to and approved by DSA in accordance with Part 1, Title 24, CCR. Substitutions effecting structural, fire/life/safety or access compliance shall be submitted as CCDs for DSA approval. The Contractor will be responsible for the additional architectural and engineering costs associated with the review and regulatory processing of these substitutions.

G. Unless otherwise indicated or specified, perform the work in conformance with the latest edition of applicable regulatory requirements. A copy of Part 1 and Part 2 of Title 24, CCR shall be available on the Project site. The codes adopted by the City, County, State and Federal agencies shall govern minimum requirements for this Project.

H. Contractor shall submit verified reports in accordance with Part 1, Title 24, CCR.

I. DSA may supervise construction, reconstruction, or repair in accordance with Part 1, Title 24, CCR.

J. Construction shall be observed by a full-time Project Inspector approved by DSA in accordance with Part 1, Title 24, CCR.

K. Testing requirements of the DSA approved District's Testing Laboratory shall be in accordance of Part 1, Title 24, CCR.

L. Special Inspection on masonry construction, glued laminated lumber, wood framing using timber connectors, ready-mixed concrete, gunite, prestressed concrete, high strength steel bolt installation, welding, pile driving, and mechanical and electrical work shall be as required by Part 1, Title 24, CCR. The costs of special inspection will be paid for by the District.

M. DSA Box: The Contractor shall submit DSA required documents via DSA Box.

N. DSA Box.com is a secure cloud-based collaborative solution initiated by the DSA to allow greater transparency and communication between DSA field engineers and designated stakeholders. 1. Forms which historically were mailed, processed and filed in a cabinet can now

be posted on-line and viewed almost immediately. 2. The Contractor shall receive authorization to access DSA Box via invitation by

email from Box.com indicating that the Contractor are being invited to share or collaborate on a file or folder that relates to a specific project. Please check your email “junk folder,” as your spam filter may not recognize the sender of the initial invitation.

3. Additional instructions shall be provided during the course of the project.
