Figure 1. Installation with mounting brackets (2). If a sound absorber (4) with centre baffle is used, it should be installed with a length of straight duct (3) equivalent to 2xØD from the CONTROL Zone (1).

Figure 2. A length of straight duct equivalent to 4 times the duct diameter is required upstream of the unit for disturbances other than those illustrated (such as a space bend, mixing box, etc.).

InstallationCONTROL Zone can be installed in an optional position in temperate spaces. CONTROL Zone has digital flow measurement that is position independent. In ducts that must be regularly cleaned, FSR clamps should be used for connecting the CONTROL Zone components to the duct system. CONTROL Zone should always be installed

with lengths of straight duct as shown in Figure 2-3. It is important that you install the right type of product in the right duct system, i.e. supply air or extract air. See the information on the next page. Rectangular dampers must be mounted with horizontal shafts.

Commissioning/ConfigurationThe products are delivered preconfigured and preset for the correct function. The configuration code specified on the product label describes its function. If the ventilation drawing does not specify the exact type, make sure that the products are installed in the correct duct system.

Configuration CodesP = Pressure F = Flow S = Supply air E = Extract air D = Reverse exhaust air control M = Measurement of flow only O = Optimisation

Configuration options - functions

Code Function

PS Pressure regulation and flow measurement in the supply air duct.

PE Pressure regulation and flow measurement in the extract air duct.

PSFE Pressure regulation in the supply air duct. Slave Zone of the extract air with a SLAVE Zone. Used most often when a supply air duct should con-trol an extract air duct with or without offset. The PSFE option requires the accessory SLAVE Zone.

FS Flow regulation in the supply air duct. Is most often used for constant flow regulation.

FE Flow regulation in the extract air duct. Most often used when Super WISE calculates the flows to be regulated.

PED Pressure regulation in the extract air with reverse operation where the GOLD unit or zone dampers is/are used for balancing the airflow

MSFE Measurement of airflow in the supply air duct. Slave control of exhaust air with SLAVE Zone. MSFE functionality requires that the product is combined with accessories, SLAVE Zone.

OS Optimisation of the supply air duct

OE Optimisation of extract air duct

OSOE Optimisation of both supply- and extract air duct.

OSFE Optimisation of the supply air duct. Slave con-trol of extract air duct with SLAVE Zone. Is used to extract as much air as supplied to the zone. Separate offset can be set.

Installation in false ceilingsIf CONTROL Zone is installed above a false ceiling or inside a shaft, the product must be accessible via an inspection hatch.

ConnectionsConnect the CONTROL Zone to 24 V AC supply volt-age and protect the circuit with a max. 6 A fuse. Wire all other connections to ModBus and other compo-nents according to wiring instructions. The controller is equipped with jack-like screw terminals, which substan-tially simplify installation.

Requirements on wire cross-sectional areasSupply voltage with 24V AC to (1), at max. 6 A is nec-essary ≥ 1.0 mm2. Signal wire from (3) to (1) max 30 m ≥ 0.75 mm2. A 4-wire with 0.75 mm2 should be fitted between (1) and (2).

Network connectionWiring to the Modbus network should be carried out accord-ing to directions given in a separate document which is avail-able for download from our home page, WISE Network-m.

Wiring zone damper PSFE with SLAVE CONTROL Zone for pressure regulation together with a slave damper in the extract air. Cables from the supply air actuator are already factory-wired to terminals designed to receive a jack connector, prior to delivery.

Calibration of pressure sensorThe pressure sensor needs to be zero calibrated after the installation in order for the 0-point to be adapted to the installation location.

After the sensor has been powered up for at least three minutes, release the pressure tubes, open the lid and press the calibration button for at least 3 seconds.

Figure 7. CONTROL Z large rectangular dampers. The white con-ductor, marked Part 3, from the damper motor in the illustration is shown in a grey colour.

Wiring large rectangular PSFE zone dam-pers with SLAVE Rectangular dampers higher than 700 mm have different damper motors, different colour coding and a separate pressure sensor for the airflow. The master damper is pre-wired from the factory whereas the slave damper must be wired at the building site.
