Introduction

Application•Controllerusedfortemperaturecontrolofrefrigerationappliancesinsupermarkets

•Onaccountoftheplugconnectionsthecontroller’smountingisprimarilyintendedforOEM’sintherefrigerationapplianceindustry.

PrincipleThecontrollercontainsatemperaturecontrolwithadoublethermostatfunction.Thethermostatsensorsareplacedinthecoldaircurrentaftertheevaporatorandinthehotaircurrentrightinfrontoftheevapora-tor,respectively.Notuntilboththermostatscallforrefrigerationwilltherelayoperate.Whena“nightlid”isplacedontheappliancethecontrollerwilladaptitselftothechangedcircumstances.AnotheroptionisthatonlytheSoutthermostatisselectedtobeactivewhiletheSintemperatureisselectedforthedisplayorthattheSinsensorisleftoutaltogether.

ConnectionThecontrollerisprovidedwithplugconnectionssothataquickconnectioncanbemadewithoutuseofscrewterminals.Sensorswithplugconnectionscanbesuppliedingivenlengths.

Function

The thermostat

ThetwotemperaturesSinandSouthavetheirownthermostatfunc-tionwithbelongingdifferential.Notuntilboththermostatscallforcoldtemperatureswillrefrigerationbestarted.Thesettingofthetwothermostatsisbasedonthefollowingprinciple:-TheSinthermostatissetsolowthatitwillalwayscallforrefrigera-

tionwhenthenightlidisoff-Soutisset,sothatitwillbethecontrollingthermostat-Whenthenightlidisputon,theSintemperaturewillfalland

formpartoftheregulation-Iftherefrigeratingsystemworkswithahighersuctionpressure

duringthenight,theSoutthermostatwillallthetimecallforcold,andaccordinglytheSinthermostatwillbethecontrollingthermostat.

Coordinated defrostCoordinateddefrostcanbecarriedoutintwoways.Eitherwithcableconnectionsbetweenthecontrollersorviadatacommunica-tion.

Wire connectionsOneofthecontrollersisdefinedasmaincontroller,andaclockmodulemaybemountedinit,ifrequired.Theothercontrollersaredefinedassecondarycontrollers.Themaincontrollercannowstartadefrostofallcontrollerssimultaneously.Theindividualcontrollerswillcarryoutthedefrostandthengoinwaitingpositionuntilallcontrollershavecon-cludedthedefrost.Themaincontrollerwillsubsequentlyreleaseallcontrollerstonormalregulation.

Defrost via data communicationAllcontrollersarefittedwithadatacommunicationmoduleandviatheoverridefunctionfromagatewaythedefrostcanbecoordinated.

Extra options

•Ifitisrequiredthatthetemperaturehastobeshownontherefrigerationappliance,adisplaycanbemounted.Thisdisplaywillshowthesamevaluesthatareshownonthecontroller’sdisplay,butitcontainsnobuttonsforoperation.

•Thecontrollercanbemountedatalaterdatewithoneplugmodule,ifrequiredbytheapplication.Thecontrollerispreparedwithaplugsothatthemodulejusthastobepushedin.-Ifitisrequiredthattheperiodicdefrostmaybechangedso

thatdefrostcanbeperformedatspecifictimesoftheday,aclockmodulemaybemounted.Itwillthenbepossibletosetuptosixdefrosttimesperdayandnight.Themoduleisprovidedwithbatterybackup.

Defrost Defrost Thecontrollercontainsatimerfunctionsothatdefrostisstartedperiodically,e.g.everyeighthours.Ifdefrostistobecarriedoutatcertaintimesoftheday,thesettingmustbemadeaccordingly,butthecontrollercanalsobefittedwithamodulecontainingareal-timeclock.Whenthisclockismounted,defrostcanbestartedatcertaintimesoftheday.Youmustsetwhetherdefrostistomadewithelectricityorhotgas.Theactualdefrostisstoppedontemperature.Compressor ON during defrostHereyouhavetosetwhetherdefrostistobecarriedoutwithelectricityorhotgas.Duringdefrostthedefrostrelaywillbeoperated.Thesettingwillhaveaninfluenceonthecompressorrelay’sfunctionduringdefrost.If“no”isselected,thecompressorrelaywillnotbeactivated.If“yes”isselected,therelaywillbeoperated.

Operation

The buttonsWhenyouwanttochangeasetting,thetwobuttonswillgiveyouahigherorlowervaluedependingonthebuttonyouarepush-ing.Butbeforeyouchangethevalue,youmusthaveaccesstothemenu.Youobtainthisbypushingtheupperbuttonforacoupleofseconds-youwillthenenterthecolumnwithparametercodes.Findtheparametercodeyouwanttochangeandpushthetwobuttonssimultaneously.Whenyouhavechangedthevalue,savethenewvaluebyoncemorepushingthetwobuttonssimultane-ously.
